It's so thick you could almost feel it. I step back a little when I hear something crashing against a wall. Just then I hear someone yell. "Justin!", and with that a greasy dark brown haired man steps out of the kitchen area with an angry stare. I feel the leash shake a little and can just imagine what the man will do to Justin, since he's in the mood, he's in right now. He still hasn't seen me, because he's only looking at Justin, who has his lips rolled in his mouth. As greasy guy steps closer to us and raises his hand, Justin lets loose of the leash it falls down with a little noise. But nevertheless it's enough noise to pull the guy's attention from Justin to me. "What the fuck! Justin! You bought a dog?", and with that the guy's hand lands on the side of Justin's face. Without thinking I jump forward and bite the guy on his hand. He shakes a little with his hand to shake me off, but I only bite tighter. Greasy guy winces and just then I feel something jump on my back and yelp. What the fuck? I let loose of the hand and turn my head around to see Mister Eschenbach with his claws in my back. I roll onto my back to shake that damn cat off my back and in the same moment I see greasy guy hitting Justin again. This time with his other hand. "Ethan stop! You are hurting me!", Justin manages to say, but that only get's him another one. I see tears running down Justin cheeks and just ignore the cat on my back and run over to the guy and jump up knocking him down. When he's down on the floor I climb up at him and growl in his face. "You don't hurt him anymore! Do you here me?!", I shout and he only hears me bark in deep nuances, but at the expression on his face and in his eyes I can see that he got my point. "Get this dog off of me!", he screams on the top of his lungs and I can only grin. What a sissy. Just then I feel the cat snatched away from my back, I look behind me and see Justin reaching for my back and comforting me. I turn completely around to him when he leans down and I lick his face where a faint bruise is showing. He seems to calm down, and I see Wolfram throwing me a death glare because me and Justin are completely oblivious to what's happening around us. "Out! Both of you, and I don't want to see you again Justin, until you take that monster back wherever you got him from. Do I make myself clear?", the last sentence greasy guy only shouts and is standing with clenched fists in front of Justin's face again. I walk in front of him and only growl which makes him back off. Ahh, he got my point. *°*°*°*°*°*°*°* The streets of Pittsburgh were cold when the two friends exit the old brick building. Justin didn't know where to go. Tears were still running down his cheeks. Not because he just lost his boyfriend, no it was because he didn't know where else to go. He looked down to his dog and smirked. He was the only thing he could trust now, his only friend left. "So, where are we headed?", and as he said that to his dog he could swear he heard from somewhere the words 'no place special'. Again, he was pulled out of his thoughts by a sharp tug on the leash, and soon Justin could see the first rainbow flags. "Now I'm sure you're gay. Who else would lead me directly to the gay village?", as if to answer Cooper just barked and wagged with his tail. They walked along the sidewalk and all that Justin could think of, was that he had missed being able to walk around carefree. To just walk around without a care in the world and the fear of returning home. Now that he hadn't a home anymore he didn't have the problem. His eyes were still puffed and red rimmed, but the tears had stopped along the way. Suddenly, he found himself standing in front of a Diner. The window showed a note that they wanted to hire a waiter. Even though Justin had never been a waiter before, he felt sure that he could do it. Just as he was about to enter the friendly looking Diner, he noticed another note in the door. 'No dogs allowed!' Justin sighed, he was hungry and he really needed a job if he didn't want to live on the street. Just then, he saw a blind man with his cane crossing the street and smirked down at Cooper. Right at the moment Justin's stomach grumbled and he shrugged his shoulders. 'Whatever', he thought. "You know, you could make a good seeing-eye dog, you know.", he said and grabbed for his sunglasses which he had in the inside pocket of his jacket. *°*°*°*°*° Sometimes the kid should think about his actions. How would he get a job in the diner when he plays the poor blind kid? I sigh and look up at Justin when he puts his sunglasses on and grabs the leash tighter. I know that he will fail miserably. I mean really, Debbie just has to look at him to know what he's up to. Let's just hope that my charm works even as a dog. As we enter the Diner, my ears prick up at the same old sounds, and I enjoy the familiarity there. Even if I never would admit it to anyone, it was good to know that the rest of the world still exists the same way I remember it. "Didn't you read the note on the door, Sunshine?", I look up at Debbie and smirk. Now 'Sunshine' what do you say? *°*°*°*°*°*°
