The year is 2014. Just before gay marriages are voted as legal in the State of Pennsylvania, Brian runs a campaign pro-gay marriages. The aftermath lands him in a lot of trouble. The appearance of an old friend and their quick thinking saves him from prison. Is marriage worth it to save himself from prison? Especially when Justin is back in town after many years of absence.

Teenage AU. Justin moves to a small southern town in Tennessee. He meets new people, some good...some bad. One he meets is a boy in his homeroom class named Brian. Brian is just trying to get out of that same small town. Some OOC. Starts during September of 1996.

Brian made it to the end of the Liberty Ride.  He had ridden all day with a broken clavicle.  When Justin saw him come around the corner his first instinct was to run to him but he had come this far and Brian NEEDED to finish, not for anyone but himself. After trying to talk Brian into getting checked out at the hospital, Justin took him to the loft and stayed with him for the night. 

Brian is betrayed by Michael, so he heads off to New York.

Brian has had a bad day at work and plans on unwinding by going to Woody’s and Babylon with his friends and his Sunshine, only to have his plans dashed when he comes home to find quite the surprise. 

Justin regrets leaving Brian the moment he turned his back. He had this wild notion that Brian would come after him. He deluded himself into thinking that Ethan loved him. All Justin wanted was to feel loved. But shortly after he moved in with Ethan, he started changing. He knew it was happening, but he couldn't get himself out of it. He fell down a rabbit hole of depression, fear and humiliation. How does he get away from Ethan?

In Season 1 episode 10 Brian and the gang drive to NYC to retrieve Justin. While they are on the road  Brian recalls the summer he ran away to live in New York and formed a special bond with an ex-resident of Pittsburg.

Five years ago today, I jumped on the Midnight Whispers bandwagon. To commemorate that auspicious event, I decided to submit a short story that I wrote some notes for nearly four years ago. This story is not a WIP and I will upload weekly. Enjoy

Wanting to change certain aspects of QAF led me to write this.  Maybe THIS TIME things go better.  Hope you enjoy these changes.  I plan to post every Sunday.

What if Brian had taken the job in New York in season 1? After three years in New York, Brian returns home to Pittsburgh to find that things and more importantly people have changed. 

This was one of my first attempts at fan fiction and I am not 100% happy with it. Still I decided that some people might like and appreciate it anyway. 

Molly Taylor doesn't expect to fall into bed with Hunter Novotny-Bruckner, but when it does happen, she expects it to be a one time thing. With 2,500 miles between them and completely separate lives, the odds are stacked against them. Yet here they are, still talking and trying to make this work. They should have tied this up on New Year's Eve, at the absolute latest, even though it makes Molly's chest hurt to even think that. It would have been better for both of them. They could have avoided all of this pining.

After a promise to Mikey, Brian and the gang goes to camp. Brian could think of many things to do for a week better than going to an adult summer camp.

After a distressing phone call from Michael with the most terrifying news, Brian and Justin decide to revisit their rules and lifestyle.

Justin and Brian have just announced their pregnancy to the family, much to the joy of many, and the aggravation of a few. Celebrate their ups and downs, their joys and sorrows and surprises, as they make their way through the last five months of pregnancy and their first days of being fathers.

Brian contemplated what he wanted to say next; how personal he wanted to get. He still wasn’t sure whether or not Joan would hear a word of what he said -- she hadn’t reacted to anything thus far -- so maybe it was better to lay it all on the line. His lifelong mantra creeped back into his brain, and he scooted his chair a little closer to the bed. No apologies, no regrets.

Against his original plans (and, perhaps, better judgment), Brian makes his way back to Pittsburgh to see his mother one final time.

It's the year 2010:  Justin comes home to Pittsburgh for a special occasion.

Brian has just lost his mother, and he doesn't quite know how to feel about things.  He decided to open a box she had in her closet that has always caught his attention, and when he does things will never be the same.   Inside the box are mysterious letters, and a photograph that will change his life forever.

This was why he didn’t do boyfriends. He didn’t do love. He didn’t do commitment. Because when you do boyfriends...love...commitment...you let yourself get attached. When you do boyfriends, you hope and pray they won’t ever leave you. Because if they do, you’ll feel like your soul has been torn out and you have nothing left to live for.

On December 31th, Brian Kinney, a successful ad man, and his artist partner, Justin Taylor, stay at their country house to ring in the New Year with the entire 'gang' of friends and extended family. On New Year's morning, they all realize they can’t return to the city due to heavy snow.  During that time Brian, Justin, and their friends and family all learn more about their past than they could ever have imagined.

This story picks up right where 'Aftermath' ends.  This is the third and final installment in the 'After' series of stories about the aftereffects of Justin's bashing by the despicable Chris Hobbs.  This story centers primarily on those closest to Justin and how they deal with what has happened.  It's my interpretation of what could have been going on in between scenes during the first episode of Season 2.  I hope you will enjoy it.

In Aftershock, we see how Justin's bashing at the end of Season One affected Brian. It ended without revealing how the bashing affected everyone else who loved and cared about Justin. The series skipped from that iconic scene of Brian sitting in the hospital right after Justin was admitted, to a month later at the beginning of Season Two, so we have to use our imagination about what went on at the hospital after Michael joined Brian. I hope you will find my perspective interesting.

It's been a year, a year full of pain and sorrow. A year in which nothing meant anything for Brian. After losing Justin at the bombing in Babylon everything was white and black.

However... what will happen if one day suddenly everything changed? What if he had never really met Justin? Then why does he remember everything they had gone through while the rest of the gang doesn't even know who Justin is?

Brian decides to show his friends that he can survive on the streets, like the homeless guy in front of Liberty Diner. During the day spent as a bum, Brian befriends Justin. The slave trade is alive and well in our AU society.  The community is mostly split half and half on the issue; half of society is for slavery and half is against.  However, Brian Kinney had never put much thought to the subject, despite the fact that his best friend, Michael, and Michael's mother, Deb, were both major players in CAST, a group against the sexual slavery of men and women.  But this all changes when Brian accompanies Michael to a slave auction, where he is introduced to a beautiful 18 year old slave named Justin, just now coming up for bid.  Born a free man, Justin's life was turned upside down when his father sold him into slavery at the tender age of 15, only three years before he was to be sold.  Chaos ensues.

Justin and Brian have been together for over twenty years. They have a large family, with all the good and bad it involves. One morning their world is thrown into turmoil. Got the idea from Safe Passage, good movie but changing quite a bit.

Justin’s Halloween costume surprises everyone, including himself…

What if Brian and Justin hadn't moved so fast after the bombing? What if they had talked things over and began a more open relationship? Would have Lindsay had the same success into making them part ways? Or would they have stayed together?

Gus has a favorite toy much to Brian's chagrin.

But Justin didn't see that, hasn't been able to read Brian since the bashing. He only sees a man that doesn't care enough about him and decides to leave him.

Will Brian be able to get his head out of his ass to win Justin back? Or will it be too late?

This time last year I stumbled onto Midnight Whispers and this site became my new addiction. At first I just lurked, then I found the courage to review, and back in July I posted a story of my own. So what better way to celebrate the end of 2016 than submitting a new fic?  Happy 2017!

According to public opinion, Brian and Justin became acquainted beneath a lamp post in front of Babylon. But the truth is, and as quiet as it's kept, they were in and out of each other's lives on numerous occasions long before that fateful night. Enjoy!
