I have been a fan of Queer as Folk since the British series and then followed the US series. I have also followed Midnight Whispers for quite a few years and love the stories, particularly the longer, novel length ones with a mystery edge to them.

I was listening to a Rod Stewart CD and the song 'I'll stand by you' reminded me of when Brian had been diagnosed with cancer and though he threw Justin out, it was clear that he didn't want him to leave. The result was a short story about Brian allowing Justin back into his life again.

I've been thinking of writing a story for the site and this seemed the time.

I didn't have a beta readerfor this story but if anybody wants to volunteer, please let me know.

Summary:

Brian has started his cancer treatment and has thrown Justin out. This is my take on how they get back together. The title is a song originally recorded by The Pretenders but my favourite version is by Rod Stewart. The lyrics are included in the story.
