Hello everyone.  I am the 76 year old Mother of one girl and Grandmother of two girls.  The eldest is 30 and the youngest is 29.  All 3 of us moved to Pennsylvania 9 years ago for a fresh start after my living in Texas for the past 48 years.  My youngest and I eventually moved into a place of our own once my Daughter remarried after being single for 21 years, and I couldn't be happier.  I am wildly in love with Queer as Folk and Brian/Justin in particular.  I'm a native Californian, although I've lived all over the Country during the first 19 years of my life.  I've been writing since August, 2007, and it has made my retirement pure Heaven.  I love it more than anything.  I hope my readers will enjoy my work.  I truly appreciate all feedback and always respond to everything as quickly as possible.  Thank you for checking me out.  Hugs, Grammy

P.S.  I'm a die-hard hopeless romantic, so if that is the kind of story you are looking for...with a large sprinkling of spice to go with the sweet (and don't be fooled by the grey hair) then you've come to the right place for your stories.

P.P.S.  After 14 years of singular devotion to only one couple...Brian and Justin...my heart was finally captured by another (but I will never give up my first love, you can be assured of that).  I am now writing fanfic for Agron and Nasir (Nagron) from the Starz TV series, 'Spartacus'.  Believe me, their love is just as powerful as Britin's so I hope you'll give their stories a chance even if you don't know the show.

After reading your thoughtful review of my work, I felt I must check out your story too.  I just wish I had as much time to read as I once did, but I'm glad I took the time to visit your work.  It is always a pleasure to read the work of someone who loves words as I do.  You have set this story up quite well.  That first line has left me incredibly curious.  I have the feeling I'm going to find this a very interesting story.  Thanks for sharing.  Grammy

Author's Response: Thanks Grammy, I have a very full work load and family load at the moment and don't get the time I'd like to write. You were absolutely correct when you said I loved words. I have decided to try harder to write more. At the moment all my other writing (including my truly execrable first fic) are at another site but I am going to try to post them here too. So glad you are reading and happy to know you share my love of words and writing (this is also reflected in the calibre of your work!) Thanks for the positive review it made my night! :)

Truly amazing work Sapphire, and I enjoyed every moment of it.  Again, you have a way of describing a scene that makes it absolutely real...breathing life into every moment.  The dream sequence was flawless and I want to thank you personally for your interpretation.  I agree that there could be more than one interpretation but I felt very similarly to you, although not exact.  Certainly close enough to get your excellent point.  That is why your stories intrigue me.  Thye tell more than just a story, they teach life lessons.  Thank you again for a wonderful read.  I look forward to that risky visit to Canada.  It should be an eye opener in more ways than one, I imagine.  Hugs, Grammy

Author's Response:

Hi Grammy :-) Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I can't tell you hoe much I appreciate getting them. *hugs* I hesitated about putting the dream explanation in at the end. One of the beauties of figurative writing is that every reader has their own interpretation. But I thought that the analogies in this case may be a little but abstract, so i though I might provide some guidelines. I'm glad you were able to form your own interpretation, but still got the 'point' of the dream, as it were. I'm very glad you find this story so intriguing. I hope you'll like where it goes from here... Thanks again for reading, and for your wonderful comment!

My dear Sapphire, I eagerly and patiently await the next chapter.  Believe me, it is more than worthy of a wait no matter how short or long that is.  Your story recap was a very thoughtful gesture.  Thank you so much for thinking of it, although I must admit that I never forget where this story is.  It is that memorable.

Now on to this chapter.  I must tell you that I am thrilled to death over your inclusion of Emmett in this chapter.  Everything about it was so totally the real Brian and Emmett relationship in tone and feel.  Their exchanges fit them like a second skin.  I loved the scene with the truckers, and Brian's final reaction to their bullying is indeed what the old Brian would have done in defiance of those twits.  I also loved that brief flashback which was a perfect gap filler for Season 5.  Now I am dying to read the confrontation with Lindsay.  I never disliked her the way so many of the fans have, but your explanation of how she was similar to the Mother in King Solomon's story was excellent and a point well taken.  Bravo again.  You have truly entertained me as I knew you would.  Big huge hugs, Grammy

Author's Response:

Thanks Grammy. *Hugs back* I'm glad you're finding this story so memorable, and that you feel it's worth the wait for the updates. That makes me feel better ;-) Anyway, I'm really glad you like Emmett in this chapter. I've always loved Emmett because he has a different kind of relationship with Brian and he does to any of the rest of the gang. They're close, but they don't like to appear close, if that makes any sense. I also think that Emmett has a different relationship to Justin than he does to Brian, which has always intrigued me. On top of that, he's just a great character. And as for Lindsay- I personally have never liked her because she was always made a show of loving Brian, but then at the end of the series, she took the two things from him that mean the most in the world: Justin and Gus. One explanation- and certainly it's not the only one- is the one I've given in this story. That Lindsay had a 'if I can't have him, no one can' kind of mentality... Anyway, I hope you like where it goes from here, when Brian confronts her...

Thanks so much for reading, and for your amazing reviews. I just adore them, and they mean so much to me. Thank you. *Hugs*

Have no fear, Sapphire, because enjoy is not enough of a word to describe how much I liked this chapter.  I have to admit that I had a tiny fear that you would exaggerate Lindsay to the point of being evil.  That wouldn't have been right in my own eyes, but instead you made her human and fallible which is totally believable.  I respect that a great deal.  Emmett was beyond an angel in this chapter, which is exactly how I think of him all the time.  He is truly the man with a heart of gold.  I had the biggest grin on my face when he called Brian 'baby'.  Soooooo Emmett!  You are obviously writing a 'labor of love' here because it shows in every word.  Bravo once again, my dear.  I looke forward eagerly to the final chapter, although I will be sorry to see it end.  Thank you for giving me such a great read again.  Big hugs, Grammy

Author's Response:

Thanks Grammy ;-) I don't think Lindsay is innately evil, nor do I believe she even considered the possibilities that her actions might affect Brian so negatively. She is naive- I always thought that about her, and her desire for a 'real' family was always very strong. I also think she was probably bisexual - she had that affair with Sam once, but I always sort of felt she was having a continuous one-sided affair with Brian as well. It was a culmination of this view of the world and her near hero-worship of Brian (believing he could never be harmed) that lead to her actions. It was very wrong of her, but Brian I think sort of understood her motives. That was why he didn't end up hating her, although learning to forgive might be considerably more difficult. I'm really glad you liked Emmett in this chapter, too. I was afraid at first that 'baby' might be too much, so I'm glad you think it wasn't ;-) Thanks again for reading, and for your wonderful insightful review. I really, really appreciate it. *hugs*

Reviewer: mandagrammy Signed

Magnificent my dear Sapphire....truly mangnificent!  That last part is the best example of the difference between a sexual scene and a lovemaking scene.  It was filled with everything that real love entails...all the pain, pleasure, emotional connection, and ultimate reward that one experiences when they truly love someone.  It took my breath away and I re-read it several times to appreciate it even more.

Your skilled exchange between Justin and Emmett made me feel as if I was in both rooms watching as they talked out their feelings with one another.  Bravo.  Not only was it wonderfully written but it was exactly as I would have expected from those two men.  I will so so sorry to see this story end, but I look forward to more of Etienne.  He is a rich character that I truly enjoyed listening to.

Thank you so much for the wonderful read.  I have to laugh because I too have noticed that there isn't as much activity going on as of late, but as long as we can continue to entertain those who love our boys so much then it is worth all the time and effort.  I hope to see much more from you in the future.

Great big hugs, Grammy

Author's Response:

Thanks Grammy. *HUGS* I'm so happy that you enjoyed this chapter. Coming from a writer as wonderful as yourself, that means a lot :-) I'm so glad the scene at the end meant something specail for you. Call me a ridiculous romantic, but tender and intimate love scenes between Brian and Justin stir something in me. To me, their love at times like this is almost perfect (like Emmett thought, 'powerful, eternal and unconditional'). *Sigh* Yes, like I said, call me a ridiculous romantic :-) I'm glad you liked the converstaion between Emmett and Justin, as well. Emmett was in an interesting situation here; torn between warning Justin about what he would find when he returned to Pittsburgh and respecting Brian's need to tell Justin himself. Of all of Brian and Justin's freinds, I somethimes think the Emmett was the only one who wasn't partial to opne of them. In any case, it worked out in the end, for better or worse. I'm glad you thought it was IC, too :-) It has been a bit quiet around here as of late. I haven't heard from quiet a few people I usually do. Hum. *Shrugs* Oh well, as long as we still love it, I guess that's the important thing :-) Thanks again for reading and for all of your wonderful and insightful comments. *Hugs*

Very interesting story Rebel.  I'm glad that I discovered it and tried it out.  You have a talented way with words.  Your story is believable and a fascinating 'what if' version of a very emotional scene from the show.  I am enjoying it a lot.  I look forward to the continuation of this story and the answer to the mystery of whether Justin truly did fire that gun or was the victim of a trauma that has robbed him of his memories of what really happened.  Thanks so much for posting it here.  Hugs, Grammy

Very interesting, and reminded me a bit of the TV show 'Once Upon a Time' in that your story seems to blend modern sensibilities with ancient fairy tale sensibilities.  I confess that my favorite part involved the craving for pickles...a well loved take on a pregnant woman's craving for them and the rather sensual aspect of 'deep throating' one.  That tickled my funny bone in a quirky kind of way.  Thanks for sharing.  Hugs, Grammy

My friend, Lori (Bigpaw) insisted I must read this.  Now I know why since she is the one who went with me for my colonoscopy just two days ago.  Trust me, there is no pain during the procedure since they usually knock you out completely.  Getting the needle for the IV was the worst of it.  The prep is the bad part since you have to drink 64 oz. of liquid laxative (8 oz. every 15 minutes) the day before the procedure and then you spend the rest of the day and half the night...well, I'll let you guess where!  LOL!

I have to say that your version of the event did make me laugh.  Thanks for sharing.  Hugs, Grammy

Author's Response: OMG I so want my version to be true as it just sounds to terrible the reality of it all. I have a new found respect for the journalist I watched on 60 minutes as I thought he was just being wimpy. I am astounded at the frankness of people and if I ever have any sort of procedure I will write about it first so I can get a real insight before it happens. Thank you so much and I may or may not be saying you were the inspiration but I embellished the facts; a lot apparently. Thank you for the entertaining review it’s probably more entertaining than the made up version. LOL Cheers

I had a lot of fun visiting Ireland, thanks to your story, Vonnie.  Brian certainly does like to show his Justin a wonderful time.  But what is it about our boys that makes so many of us stick them into those tiny little airplane bathrooms, doing the deed... I wonder?  LOL!  I guess it is just the fact that we wish Brian was doing it with us in the bathroom instead.  Hmmmm?

Seriously, I enjoyed the images of the scenery and the people a great deal.  I'm not fond of scenes where Brian and Justin are with anyone else, but so much of the story was fun that I can easily ignore my preferences on that score.  I'm so glad you got this work finished and added it to the Summertime list.  Huge hugs, Grammy

Author's Response:

I'm so happy you like this sweet grammy :)

I wish Brian did the naughty deed with me anywhere lol, as I'm certain we all do.

The scenery was indeed very stunning, I wanted to make sure before posting this story that all my readers saw first hand where the boys would go that's why I posted the images in my journal.

I don't think I toyed with Brian and Justin doing the deed with others before and I know alot of folks don't like it, which is why I thought of them doing this in each others company, then its not tooooooo bad I think lol.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting grammy, it really made me smile :)

Huge Hugs - Yvonne xx

First of all, please accept my apologies for the great lapse in replying to your lovely comments.  Life has been extremely hectic this month.  I am happy that you are enjoying this story.  It's my first shot at an historical story, and I'm enjoying doing some research for that period.  Thank you for reading and for the supportive feedback from a great writer herself!  Happy New Year!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I took a break from reading 'Turn of the Wheel' just so I could check out your new story.  I love gap fillers and this one was wonderful.  It held all the emotion I absolutely know they felt during those last hours together, and I'm particularly happy with what you did about the rings.  I can totally see that happening.  Thank you for the great read tonight.  Huge hugs, Grammy

Hi, Grammy!  First of all, please accept my apologies for not responding to your reviews on "Turn of the Wheel."  I will respond as soon as I can, and I deeply appreciate you taking the time to leave comments. :)  I'm so happy you enjoyed this one. it was such a bittersweet episode on the show!  It made me sad to think of them parting, but their love was clearly shown in the tenderness they displayed during their last time together.  Thank you for reading this one, Grammy, and for the lovely comments.  *Hugs back* ~Kim

This is so exciting.  As a writer, I love this kind of challenge.  My story, 'Ibiza, At Last' only came about thanks to a challenge given to us many years ago.  We were given 4 items and asked to let them inspire a story.  Actually, I would love to see that kind of challenge happen again, with different items suggested of course.  Thanks for always giving our imaginations more inspiration to work with.

Author's Response:

Hi, Grammy! I'm glad you are enthusiastic about the challenge. We're about to announce the Top Five. I hope you are inspired to participate!  And I have seen the challenges you referred to. Maybe we'll try that next. :)  I'll look forward to whatever you write. :)  Thanks for your thoughts. :) ~Kim

Absolutely delightful!  You captured both the young and older Molly perfectly.  I could easily see all these things happening to her and her thinking the way she did.  Bravo on a beautifully written 'letter'.  Hugs, Grammy

P.S. I suspect it will be a cold day in Hell before even Molly could convince Craig to attend Justin's wedding.

Author's Response:

Hi there!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this one shot and for leaving such a supportive thoughtful feedback. I'm truly humbled. It means a lot to me coming from you. I'm always interested in some aspects of our beloved characters lives that were not explored in canon and Justin's relationship with hjis sister is one of them. I could see Molly and Justin reconecting in post 513 as they got older. I think it would make sense for Brian to get to like Molly more than he ever liked his own sister.

There's probably no change that Craig would attend Brian and Justin's wedding but I think that if anyone was able to bring this subject up to him it would be Molly.

Hmm... do I sense a sequel here? *g*

Thank you again

Take care

HUGS

For me, the two most iconic scenes from the show are at the prom dance and the first time Brian said the words, 'I love you' to Justin after the bombing.  I absolutely love the way you chose to have Justin finally remember that beautiful dance he shared with Brian and the way Brian looked at him during it.  Wonderful job.  And thanks for including Tucker in the story.  Jennifer deserved a love like him after living with someone like Craig.  Hugs, Grammy
