Responding to your comment to my last review - you said that 'I would hate to lose Jenny but except for fanfic we don't know how she turned out since she was very young when the show ended.' I'm not sure what you mean by that? Does it matter how she turns out beyond where the canon show stopped? My point is that Jenny existed in the canon show and so therefore she also existed in Justin's first timeline in this story but she can't exist in Justin’s new timeline unless she has the same parents as in the other time line (and tv show) and those are Melanie and Michael. It seems unfair to me that all the other characters would get to exist in the second timeline but not Jenny. Do you want her to not exist in that timeline?

Author's Response: I can't see Michael as parental either. Michael and Ethan, now that's something for another story. Let me see if I can help about Jen picking Molly up from school. First off, Justin wasn't aware his mother was the reason he was called to the school. The school didn't know why Justin had custody only that he did. Someone did call the police, but by the time they arrived, Jen was gone. As far as Justin knew Molly and his parents were living in his childhood home. Now I'm confused at which point did Vic wave his hand?

Well, this was a little better, but why do I expect Michael as being the one who called to have the locks changed at the loft, and why didn't they look around and see if anything was missing? THAT was the first thing they should have done...
It was a nice idea for Justin to think of having Brian have a physical, but I really doubt any cancer could have been detected a year and a half earlier than it was in canon... but then again, maybe THIS TIME, he won't get it... Lots of weird changes, so why not that?
I'm not sure how Gus could have had 'otitis' media, and them not know sooner.
As nice as the thought of Justin fathering 'JR', there is NO WAY, a baby born of Justin and Melanie could look anything LIKE Gus... Responding to your response to my comment - you said that 'we don't know if the baby would be a girl if Justin's sperm is used'. That's exactly my point. Jenny won't exist in this timeline as herself if she has anyone but Michael as a father. And she deserves to exist there as herself just as all the other characters exist in that timeline as themselves. So that means having Michael as a father regardless of what Justin or Brian wants. I can only hope that Justin realizes this and declines the offer to have him as the father. And you did say in response to another review that you'd hate to lose Jenny ....

I didn't want this chapter to end it was so good. I think they are right to wonder how Deb will take it when they suggest Justin be the dad instead. Well, I'm trying to catch up on some reading... and just finished three chapters...
This is getting to be a strange story in some areas... It seems like everything is all hunky-dory and back to normal with the family... Lindsay seemed unconcerned about the fact she sawed Mel's hand off... she was just out having a good time bowling, and I noticed she didn't even go and say hi to Gus or want to hold him. It's been quite a while since she saw him, yet couldn't even say hi...
Brian and Justin are once again associating with Debbie and Michael, it's like Debbie didn't call CPS and try to get Brian in trouble and Michael didn't try to kill Brian's son... I mean, seriously???????? Why would you EVER even be in those people's lives again?
And I guess I'm wondering, are Mel and Lindsay still living in their house, or did they have to move? How did they get all that blood out of the hardwood floors? Or was it all tore up and new flooring put in? I don't think I could live in a house and have to have visions of that nightmare, day in and day out.
How old is Gus? Two? Maybe... yet he was looking at the map, and calling Mrs. Stone, Mrs. Claus? SMH... My four kids weren't saying Mrs. Claus at two... yep, he's doing good...
It sounds like the resort vacation is a place from hell; I'm SO glad Emmett had no filter and laid it on the line for the old coot... it sounds like some employees either need firing, or need some disciplinary action taken.

Author's Response: Yes, this is a strange story. There are spots where Justin had no knowledge of things that had occurred, so when things change he's not always aware that they have. There is not much that Brian nor Justin can do when other people bring Debbie or Michael into the story. Gus is his daddy's boy, he's a genius. Ethan shows up again, you can't get rid of bad pennies or Michael would have been gone ages ago.

I’m confused as to how a baby born of Melanie and Justin could be mirror image of Gus when Gus, on the show, has dark hair and hazel-ish eyes and Justin and his mother and sister all have blonde hair and at least Justin has blue eyes.
Also Jenny Rebecca deserves to be born in this timeline as herself not half someone else as she would be if anyone but Michael is the father so, even though I may be the only one reading this story to think so, I hope Lindsay and Melanie don’t have Justin as the baby’s father.

This was a rather strange chapter. Is Michael FAKING amnesia in order to try and escape charges? But they SHOULD file charges... not necessarily for Justin... but for Gus. An innocent baby was hurt... he could have been killed. He got cut... he bled... How can his father let that slide? That pisses me off!
The Taylors need charges brought against them too for abandonment. Whether Craig forced Jennifer to leave, or she left of her own free will...

First, let's just say I was a wee bit sad when I read that with the miracle of fan fiction Mel's hand magically got better fast. So, I seriously hope they lodge a complaint, as NOTHING to do with or about Justin, pertained to her, nor was it her business.
That said, Debbie could be in a shit load of trouble... Calling in a false CPS report, has charges levied of a low-class misdemeanor, which carries up to a year in county jail and up to a thousand dollars in fines. I don't think Debbie realized what she was facing when she tried to get back at Brian for 'hurting her baby boy, and not bowing down to his demands.'

Well... I've been sitting here for a few minutes in utter shock after reading this last chapter. (And now I'm at a loss for words as to what to say.)
Well, let's start with the women... I would presume Lindsay will have to be checked into a psyche ward, because how to you come back mentally after sawing someone's hand off?
That said, I don't see how Melanie's hand will be able to be saved. My husband got his gloved fingers caught in the sawmill chain, and two of the tips were sawed off, and even though the tips of his fingers were still encased in the glove, and put in a baggie with ice, they couldn't do replantation, because of the damage to the tendons. He was told by the surgeon that rarely are they able to replant a whole thumb, so I just can't see where they will be able to replant a whole hand. WAY too much nerve and tendon damage. And with one of the main arteries being severed, I'm not sure how she didn't bleed out before help got there. On the flip side, as far as my husband's accident ... it gave him great pleasure telling all ten grandkids that he lost them wrestling with a bear. I think some of the younger ones still believe that.
On to Michael... yeah, the crazy mother... when Michael attacked Justin with a lamp in my story, Blinded, he ended up in a padded cell in straight-jacket. LOL... So, I'm really curious what the outcome will be to all of this. Will a miracle surgery happen? Will Lindsay say, oh well, she didn't need the hand after all? Will Michael plead temporary insanity, and get off? Maybe Deb can hand out sexual favors to bribe the judge.... (Yeah, I'm LMAO here!)
So, all-in-all, I don't know if I should be horrified at this turn of events, or continue laughing thinking about all the scenarios you could come up with.

I see you wanted to know what I thought was actually going on with "This Time." I really hate to put it in black and white, but, here's what I thought:
When there was a screech of the brakes and people were flying and screaming on the bus in the Prologue, I right away thought there was an accident, and I think Justin is in a coma dreaming all of this.
Because even if Marilyn somehow finagled a "do-over" it doesn't account for the mature Brian we're seeing.
So, I will be anxious to see how it all turns out.

Ah, poor widdle Mikey's hero died! That was so wrong of the writer's to have him more worried about a comic strip character, than a real person who met a horrible, untimely death.

I actually felt sorry for Michael, I know I shouldn't but still. Justin sure has so much to remember and I hope all this trying to wont overwhelm him. I'm glad he has Daphne to talk to because if he didn't he would end up in hospital with a hernia or something. It was so brilliant to see Gus with them he always makes his daddy smile.

I like this twist again. Ben doesn't need Michael, he can do much better. Too bad Michael did not understand that he will not interfere in Brian's decisions especially with regard to Kinnetik. I love how Justin finds the baths for Kinnetik.

I love how Brian tells Ben that Michael doesn't get to tell him how to run his business. This is a Brian who seems less influenced by Mikey and Lindsay- better situation for everyone involved. Love that Justin found the building for Kinnetik.

Author's Response: Yes, it would be nice for Mel and Lindsay to do that. Justin is so busy this time he doesn't have time to keep up with what's going on with them, but he does have time for Gus. Brian was always good even when he shouldn't have. When Justin saw Adrienne he turned it around so that Lindsay couldn't use it as especially since he wasn't damaged this time.

I have always liked Ben and love that you have Justin getting to know him a little. I like this version of Vic better too. Vic needed to leave Deb's and be on his own. Such a little tweak here and there makes a very different story.

Okay... I'm VERY confused... a White Tie was hosted in Brian's loft? with twinkling lights? Michael was in a shirt and tie? Did the other men's tuxedo's have long tails? And the women normally should have worn the old time ball gown with a tight bodice and full skirt. So, with the apparal worn, I'm not even sure that would have been a Black Tie event. Oh well... hopefully none of the anticipated clients will question it...
God, I hated that setting up of Michael getting a dating profile... talk about false info, and ridiculous... nothing like going through a dating service to get a man... especially when there is hordes in Babylon he could meet.
And I loved the touching moment at the end between Brian and Justin.

Author's Response: Well, I didn't want Justin going to frat party with Daphne. Brian having an open house for his new agency, the one that Mikey said he was stupid to do seemed like the answer. Of course, Brian would do formal and since Mikey didn't get his birthday party the fairy lights were available. If you saw the episode this was based on the reworking of Mikey's profile was too funny not to include. This Brian is more available and open to a wiser Justin.

Other changes... I'm very surprised at it being white tie, instead of black. I never pictured Brian as the type to wear long tails and ribbon ties in his patent leather shoes... or having women wear the most elegant of formals and tiaras...

And, I absolutely LOVE Vic's new living arrangements... he's out from under Debbie's thumb. Although I have to say, in a place that size, I'm surprised it only has a half-bath. What's he going to do for a shower or tub?
