Loved it!!!   Gus is a great kid, and eventhough he didn't grow up living with Brian, it's obvious that he sees him as a role model, and definitely someone he looks up to!!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! <3 He most definitely sees Brian as a role model, because even though he doesn't know the backstory with Brian's parents, he sees how much his dad has had to work through in his life to get to where he is, and the strength that took. He hopes to find that same strength in himself to get what he wants. Maybe I'll explore Gus a little bit more in future stories.

Wonderful insight what Gus could be and his belief system making him a strong good man

Author's Response:

Thank you! It was fun to get to explore all of that a little bit, and set up what kind of man Gus is becoming as he transitions from childhood to adulthood.

I really like Gus's relationship with his father. And his look at people with disabilities or homosexuality is very powerful. I love the man he is becoming. Great verse!

Author's Response:

Thank you! :) This story was fun to write, to really get into Gus' voice and inside his head. He's grown up around so much that is unique, but to him, it's his normal. I could totally see elementary school Gus being completely mystified at why other kids are staring at Cole or making fun of him, so Gus is like "screw those guys" and makes friends with Cole instead. Maybe I'll explore Gus a little more later!

Great insight from Gus-  His dad is his dad.  Love that he has a great relationship with both Brian and Justin

Author's Response:

Thanks! :) I figured that Gus, having grown up around so much that's different, but that is just a part of his "normal," he would have a lot of different viewpoints on things that others might not have. His perspective is unique.

Nice story.  Great insights over how many people treat people in wheelchairs.  Bill

Author's Response:

Thank you! <3 Ableism is definitely an issue I'm hoping to bring awareness to through this 'verse. And we all know Brian...stubborn to a fault...so if there is a way to do something, he'll find a way to do it, which I think makes him a perfect character to explore that with.
