I've just re read your story, I think it is one of my favorites.

I love the building of their relationship. And the looooove... so good.

Thank you again for sharing,

Placedo.

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend - thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to reread it again. I enjoyed writing them in a historical context for a change. I am very flattered that you find it so enjoyable.  Thank you for all your encouragement and support. :) ~Kim

Hi ! I used to read your stories on fanfiction.net 8 years ago approximately. I recently rewatched all 5 seasons of qaf and I started reading fanfics again. Turn of the wheel is a great story !! Loved it. I was doubtful at first about it taking place in the 1800's but it was really great.

Thank you for sharing with us.

I'm glad to see that witch get sacked and with such class!

A perfect reunion for Justin and Molly. Brian shows great wisdom wrapping up this affair of events. Excellent read.

Wonderful story.  I enjoyed the historical references.   Thanks for sharing your talent.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Sandy!  I really appreciate you taking the time to read and review. BTW, I haven't had enough time to read your current story, but I hope to do that soon. Thank you for being such a long-time writer of MW and for all the stories you share with us.  It is deeply appreciated. :) ~Kim

A beautiful end to a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing this. I love how you worked their story into the 19th century and gave your story that Oscar Wilde atmosphere. But I'm glad that it wasn't too much of Oscar Wilde there. He was imprisoned for two years because of his homosexuality and I'm glad that your story wasn't as angsty as I first feared. So, thanks again and warmest regards!

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading this story, and for all your kind feedback. I'm delighted that you enjoyed reading it. I still love these two characters, so now I need to decide which one of the myriad story plots in my head that I want to write about - lol. If only I had all the time in the world!  I really appreciate all your support and for you taking the time to comment on each chapter. Thank you again. ~Kim

And again, what should I say, a beautiful chapter! You solved everything! I'm so happy for Justin and Molly that they had found a new and wonderful home with amazing humans like Debbie and Vic! And I can imagine how much happiness and joy they bringt into the Kinney-household! Temperance got what she deserved and I'm glad that Brian gave Isabel a second chance! That was a really beautiful idea with that box!

Beautiful chapter! I felt sorry for Brian, he was so afraid and had done so much for Justin... I hope he'll get to know the truth real soon...

Hi Kim! Thank you for your help! I loved your Story so much! Brian was so generous and kind, that really warmed my heart. Brian and Justin deserve so much luck and love. Justin`s talent matches Brians ambitions and their cooperation was great. It was such a pleasure to read your Story and I hope for more or a continuation. Thank you so much for sharing! :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Myri! I am glad that I could help, and it's great to see you back on the website. :)  Thank you for your kind words and for all your support over the years. I probably will end this one where I did, but not to worry; I still love these two characters and definitely want to keep writing. Take care and stay safe, my friend. Miss you. XOXO  ~Kim

I'm so glad Brian found Justin (hopefully) still in time and with his body-temperature I'm sure Justin gets better soon! ;-) And then I want to see Justin's reaction when he sees Molly and discovers what Brian had done. That'll show him how much Brian already loves him... And then I want to see Temperance getting what she desreves! Great chapter!

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 04:04 PM · On: Rescue Mission

Oh dear, another exciting chapter... I've just to keep on reading! Very well written!

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 03:50 PM · On: A Storm of Hate and Hurt

Oh, that was an exciting chapter! Oh, poor Justin! What an awful and terrible person... I hope she gets what she deserves... And that happens on Christmas Day and it's so cold outside.... Very well written!

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 03:24 PM · On: Molly's Fate

Oh, heartbreaking to think what Molly had to endure for such a long time... three... four years... terrible. But I'm so looking forward to Justin's reaction!
And I fear there will be trouble soon with Temperance's knowledge about Brian and Justin!

AMAZING STORY

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and for your kind words, Sharon!  I always love to hear what readers think of my stories, so I'm very happy that you enjoyed it. :)  I liked researching my first historical fiction story.  I still love these characters and hope to start a new story in the near future. Beautiful chapter and again, I think your writing-style, how you pictured and described this and also what happened suits the time... That was so hot and in my opinion totally enough for Justin's first experience... I love, that Brian already thinks about a common future...

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 09:13 AM · On: End...And Beginning?

Oh, finally... it's hard and also funny to imagine Brian wearing a flannel undershirt and matching, knee-length drawers... :-) but I know it suits the time

I'm so curious what happened to Molly and if she can return to Justin...

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 08:26 AM · On: Investigation from the Heart

Hi! Oh Debbie, I love her for doing this and trying to protect Brian, but I fear, she'ss made Temprance more angry with that...

Yeah, Brian to the rescue!

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 07:47 AM · On: Desire and Resentment

Hi! Beautiful, finally, a first careful approach, a first kiss. I think this scene fits perfectly into the time frame in which the story takes place. Funny, imagine how our 21th century Brian would act ...

Oh, and trouble is on the way.... On the one hand from the servants and possibly also from Brian himself. He still tries to fight against his feelings ...

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 03, 2021 06:51 AM · On: Artistry Revealed

Hi! Beautiful scene with them sleeping both in those chairs! "Yeah, but it's not completely healed yet, right?" - haha, Brian actually wants the ankle to never heal... But I think Justin doing these illustrations gives Brian a good reason and excuse to ask Justin if he doesn't want to stay. He can't do those illustrations while living on the streets...

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 02, 2021 04:15 PM · On: Tit for Tat

Hi! Amazing chapter! I like the way you let them spend time together. Hm, this time I was right! Letting them work together is a good way for them to come closer, getting to know each other better. It's also a good start for Justin to reach something in his life and to become a little bit more equal with Brian. I mean, mentally they are already so good together, Justin's very educated, smart and has a similar humor to Brian. But before something happens between them, it would be good for Justin to have some success at something...

Author's Response:

Thank you for continuing to read and for all the comments!  Yes, it does seem like a perfect solution for the two of them. :)  I admit I probably surprised myself by the lack of smut in this story, but that was the direction it took. Not all of my stories have a lot of sex in them, though; depends upon the plot. This was the first historical fic I wrote, though, and I enjoyed researching that time frame.  I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you again for choosing to read this one and for all the feedback. I am glad you are enjoying it. :)  ~Kim

Hi! Another wonderful chapter! I so like Vic and how you create this trustful bond between him and Justin. I'm happy for Justin, that he has someone he can talk to. I'm glad Brian had discovered the drawings! Maybe he could need some art in his books... ;-) And does he have maybe some connections and could be looking for Molly....

Reviewer: aglaja5 (Signed) · Date: January 02, 2021 06:51 AM · On: History Revealed

Hi! Hm, I don't have a good feeling about Bellows... he could mean trouble, couldn't he? So I was very wrong regarding Justin's past... Oh, Molly, so terrible what hapened to them. I hope he'll find her (maybe with the help of Brian)!

I love how you picture them together... open-minded, playfully ("sit" - "Ruff" ;-) ) but also with this underlying attraction to each other... Brian is still trying to fight it... I'm curious for how long....

Hi! What a beautiful chapter! Very well written. I love how you characterise them - especially Justin, who, although he lives in such a dire situation, doesn't let himself get down, hasn't lost his pride, isn't whining, but an honest and also self-confident man. I love how you let them talk to each other, challenging each other in a very good, interesting and respectful way. I'm getting more and more curious about what happened to Justin... he is interested in literature, plays the piano, creates art... he didn't always live on the streets.. Was he thrown out because he's gay? I've seen the biography of Oscar Wilde. a really awful time for queer humans... so, I'm a little bit angsty what will / could happen when they fall in love...

Author's Response:

Hello, there! Thank you for choosing to read this story, and especially for your comments. You will find out more about Justin, as well as Molly, and what repercussions will result. Hi again! Interesting chapter. So, Justin is around 18 and lived already two years on the streets. I wonder how long he lived in the mentioned orphanage. I like how you pictured Justin - he seems to be brave and a fighter! Looking forward to the first encounter between our two boys! Vic is fantastic in this role!

Hi! A new finished story for me to read! That's a good start into the new year! Thanks! Funny, when I entered this universe about four and a half years ago, your stories were one of the first I read and fell in love with (The Father, The Son, and The Blond, Remember me etc). Very well written and an interesting start with an Oscar Wilde in America. :-) I'm curious what Brian has to say about the light brown hair suddenly turning into blonde...

Yippee it's about time that wench got her comeuppance. She is bitter twisted so in so. Brian handled it so perfectly. I think he handled Isabel really well as well because she was lead by fear from that twit.

My heart melted at the gift Brian gave Justin and Molly that was the sweetest thing in the world you brought a tear to my eye.

Fantastic work x

Author's Response:

Hello, sweet friend - I am always very happy to hear from you, and to read your comments.  I thought Isabel deserved a second chance, too, but Brian was clear it was her ONLY chance. I'm glad you liked the box idea. I had that in the back of my mind all the time, but until this chapter I couldn't make use of it.  You are always so supportive of me and this site in general. Great update!

So nice to see Molly and Justin getting reacquainted... although, I'm sure Brian and Justin getting reacquainted will be a little more - um, festive???

I'm very glad that Temperance got her due... and that Isabel has another chance to prove herself.

I had completely forgotten about Brian looking for that box! So it was a surprise to me too, when Molly opened it. And you had me imagining enjoying a lovely Christmas… here in October - in the middle of a pandemic!

Take care! Hope you are doing well

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend - thank you for reading and for your comments. :) I like your use of the word 'festive' - ha!  Maybe Brian would like to 'unwrap' his present later; I suspect so. ;)  I'm glad you like the box idea, too.  Thank you for all the support.  Miss seeing you!  You take care of yourself as well. Finally, that Tamperance woman is gone, and hopefully their will have a wonderful Christmas now under the Kinney residence

Author's Response:

Hello, Vic - I am so sorry that I apparently neglected to acknowledge your comments!  I used to be so good about that, but RL has made it very difficult this past year.  I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you reading and commenting on this story. I hope you enjoy the rest of it. FYI - Temperance was a name of one of my paternal relatives around that time, so I borrowed it. I thought in this case it was ironically appropriate (at least in her eyes!). Thanks again for your support. It is very motivating to know that others are reading and enjoying what I write. ~Kim

It's a great chapter, it was worth the wait for this update where Temperance gets fired but Isabel has a second chance. You could really feel the joy and the emotion of Justin and Molly when they received the gift of what was done by their father. I think now everything is going to be pretty much normal in their lives thanks to Brian. Thanks for the update Kim you've been very busy with the site. Take care of you.

Author's Response:

Hello, Marie-France!  Thank you for being so patient in between updates.  I am glad you enjoyed the chapter, and are still reading it. You are very kind.  As for Temperance, I knew she would not be sticking around, but in the end I decided Isabel deserved a second chance to redeem herself.  Temperance was a very dominating character, so I suspect things will quiet down now, and give our boys a chance to become 'reacquainted' (wink, wink).  ;)  I probably see one or two more chapters before this one ends. But I've got other stories swirling around in my head, so hopefully a new one will pop up in the near future. Hard to resist Halloween and Christmas. :)  Thank you for reading and for always commenting, my friend. I do appreciate the support. :)  ~Kim

I'm very glad you liked it. :) I see probably one or two more chapters to wrap it up.  After all, I know two men that need some 'alone' time - wink, wink. ;)  Thank you again for taking the time to review, and for your patience in between updates. :)  ~Kim

Such an enjoyable chapter.  Getting rid of Temperance was my favorite part after the presentation of the box that Justin and Molly's father had made.  I am also glad that Isabel was given another chance and hope that Brian can find something for her husband to do.  Christmas will be wonderful for the Kinney household.

Author's Response:

Hello, Phyllis!  Yeah, I enjoyed getting rid of Temperance, . :)- ha!  In a way, I wish Brian had LITERALLY given her the boot. It was tempting, but I think spreading the word about her will help to ensure she doesn't repeat anything similar to what she did to Justin.  I'm probably seeing one or two more chapters of this before it's put to bed. And then I need to decide what type of story to do.  Thinking of a mystery-type sequel to "Paper Hearts Killer," but in a different direction (no children involved this time; just Justin's physic abilities).  Although...I might have to put in a Halloween one-shot if I get the opportunity. :) I have a couple of other ideas, though, so hard to say at this point.

Thank you as always for reading and reviewing this story. It is very much appreciated. :)  ~Kim

Thank you, Bob. I can't wait for Justin to tell Brian about Temperance and Isabel. I can bet he will be furious. Fantastic work as always x

Author's Response:

Hi, Vicki!  Thank you as always for the comments and for reading.  Poor Brian.  He is so attracted to Justin, but had to quell his desire as he tried to keep him warm to help him heal. I'm glad that Justin and Molly are back together again, but I really don't think Justin should wait in telling Brian who told him such lies.

Author's Response:

Hello, Phyllis!  Thank you for your feedback.  I think Justin will be impatiently waiting to speak to Brian again, now that he knows something is remiss, and a certain someone will be finally getting just what she deserves.  Thank you for reading and for the comments. As always, I am very grateful for your support. :)  ~Kim

Wow! What a great update! I had to read about the Molly & Justin's reunion through tears in my eyes. Hopefully, Brian and Justin will get everything straightened out "later."

Hope you are staying safe and doing well!

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend - thank you for sticking with this story between my ultra-slow updates.  I am glad you were moved by the siblings' reunion at last.  And, yes, I think some harsh truths will be coming to light for certain characters, as well as some long-awaited ones. :)  Thank you for taking time to comment, Trish; I really appreciate that. :)  ~Kim

What a delight to find a new chapter for this story, and this chapter was like reading one very long cliffie, too.

Thank you, Kimberly, for writing a new update.

Hope you are staying safe during these truly crazy times!

Glad to see an update on this great story. Maybe Molly could go over to Justin and shake him up to make him live so he could hang on so they were finally together. I like the Doctor asking Brian to warm up Justin with his body. The only thing left is Temperance's punishment, maybe Justin could fire her!
Take care of you!

Hello, Angelika - yes, I know it takes forever. Between working full time, being my mom's caregiver, and being a beta for several authors, I unfortunately always make time for myself last. So happy to see a new chapter of this story. I'm so glad Brian arrived back with Justin, I hope and pray he and the doc can save him. Brian is so brave to do all he can to help him. That horrid Temperance needs to be taught a lesson she is evil. Poor Molly just back in the same house as her brother and can't see him. I hope all will be ok  when she sees her brother again.

Fantastic work x

Author's Response:

Thank you for this latest comment, Vicki.  Now that Justin will be all right, he and Brian can concentrate on what is really important, and Justin in the part I just posted is finally beginning to learn the truth.  I am happy you are enjoying this story.  XOXO  ~Kim

I’ve been reading for a while and have neglected to review which I apologize for.  The slow pace of the story was at first bothersome. But then I grew to love it as as it meant to the time period and really makes the piece work.  I really enjoy this Brian. He is complex and interesting and you are weaving a great love story again so telling to the culture of that time.  Though I must say if very terrible things are not visited on that maid I may lose it. I await you and your Brian to bring his best and to convince his young love how much he truly cares.  And Molly!!!  Write more please

This looks very promising, I love historical fiction. A couple of anomalies in dialect/speech though, which might be worth thinking about.... Brian is obviously a man of class and distinction... Would he have such a modern affectation for swearing like a common barrow boy? And no one said 'okay' in the 1800s... 'Very well' is probably more appropriate.

Looking forward to reading more!

Author's Response:

Hi, Elizabeth! Thank you for reading this part, and for your comments. This is my first foray into historical drama, so I appreciate your feedback.  You may be correct about Brian's use of language; I think in the presence of his peers (social events, etc.), he might have been one to adhere to more common standards befitting his station in life at that time, but in private I feel he would have perhaps used more 'colorful' language.  As for 'okay,' according to what I read online, the word 'okay' was commonly used as far back as the 1830's in the US, but 'very well' would have been a good substitute, so I will keep that in mind. I like that better.  Sounds more formal.

Thanks again for reading. I hope you enjoy the rest. I probably have one or two more chapters to go before it's put to bed. :)  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hello, Bob!  I'm glad you're finding the time to keep reading this story. Oh that mean bitch Temperance.  I hope they find Justin before he gets hurt or sick from the cold.  Molly and Justin need each other.  Also Brian will  be lost without him.  You left us with a nasty cliff hanger.  LOL

Dee Dee

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend!  I've been thinking about you. :)  I hope all is well. I need to get in touch with you to see how you're doing.  As for the story, yes, Temperance is a real piece of work!  But not to fear, she will definitely receive payback for her scheming.  I probably have one or two more chapters to go before this one is done. Omg that bitch, how could she do that to Justin . I hope to god that they find him in time before the cold kills him. I think Brian is going to kill her when he finds out and poor Molly will just be arriving. Please have that horrible Temperance punished big time.

Author's Response:

Hi, Vicki!  Do not fear; you know her scheming and hatred will not go unnoticed.  She will soon be exposed for the bigoted, mean-spirited woman that she is.  I see that coming in the next chapter. Thank you, my sweet friend, for always being so supportive of my stories.  Hope one day we get to see more from you and your own wonderful stories.  XOXO  ~Kim

I hope Vic or even Brian will catch up with him so that they all have a good Christmas now that Molly is coming.

Author's Response:

Hello, Marie-France!  Do not worry; you know that this nasty witch will eventually get her payback for what she is doing.  It will occur, as a matter of fact, in the next chapter.  I want to thank you for being so supportive over the past several years of my stories.  I deeply appreciate all the feedback from you. :)  I will get the next part up just as soon as I can.  ~Kim

I saw you had posted an update this morning... but saved it for a nice, relaxing, Sunday evening read. Well, it was great - but not so relaxing! Poor Justin! I can't wait for the comeuppance I am sure is headed Temperance's way!

Author's Response:

Hi, Trish!  BTW, recently saw some photos you posted. You look great!  Miss you.  Thank you for choosing this story to read the latest update. And as you surmised, you know Temperance will eventually get her payback for her behavior - and not in a pleasant way.  I hate cliffhangers! But I had 4,000+ words written, and it was a good stopping point, so I wanted to get it posted.  I probably see one or two more chapters to this before it's done (of course, I've said that before, and it's turned into 10 or more - ha!)  But I'm hoping to wrap this one up soon, and get inspired to write something new, maybe in conjunction with the story prompts. Thanks as always for being so supportive. Hope we can meet up again sometime.  XOXO  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hello, there. First of all, THANK YOU for being so supportive of this story by leaving me feedback. It is appreciated more than you know.  And, yes, I know it's hard with cliffhangers, especially when RL makes it harder for me to keep up with adding new chapters. Doesn't appear to be the most popular one - for good reason, I guess - or maybe I'm just taking too long to update. :/  But I will finish this story up in a chapter or two, and then hopefully get inspired to write something new.  I do hope one day I get to read another one of your eloquently-written stories in this fandom or another one. Hi, Kim! As always, reading your updates is an endless pleasure, and going back to these particular characters is especially amazing. This chapter was brilliant, and I love protective Brian so, so much. Loved how angry he immediately became on Justin’s behalf, how he tried to soothe him. Terrible story about the scars, it horrifies me that there are still places where such things are a common occurrence. In our orphanages, beatings are usually considered a pretty mild way of punishment, which is just terrible.

The sex that followed that heartbreaking conversation was just delicious! I love how many feelings and tenderness you’re putting in there. How Justin overcomes his inner barriers and enjoys the beauty of life. I’m so happy he and Brian found each other.

By the way, I’ve read your Gifts Exchange story, it was so relaxing and wonderful! Will you post it here?

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris! Sorry for the delay in responding.  I'm glad you sensed the emotional tension with the Fletchers.  As with a lot of people, $ was the motivating factor in letting Molly go. Before the siblings can reconcile, however, there will be some obstacles to overcome.

Hello, there!  First of all, a slightly belated welcome to the site.  Thanks for becoming a member on here!  We appreciate that.  As for Justin, yes, very sad, but I suspect not all that uncommon back then when epidemics struck, and from what I read cholera could be a very swift and destructive illness, as well as highly contagious.

Thank you for choosing to read this story, and especially for commenting!  It means a lot to me as a writer, and is always very motivating.  I hope you continue to enjoy this story. More coming up soon.  ~Kim

Aw, such an amazing chapter again! It was painful to read about Justin's story regarding his parents, and Molly. Now, once Brian acknowledge his feelings for Justin (and we all know he will eventually LOL), it could be such a great plot that he looks for Molly to see what has happened to her. I love the angst about the siblings past history, and love to see you develop such a coompelling story.

Also, as always, such a great job developping the atmosphere of that time. I'm loving everything about this. Thank you!

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend!  I consider it a great compliment that you are enjoying this story, knowing what an outstanding writer you are in your own right. :)  I can only imagine Justin's feelings about losing both his parents, and in essence his sister, during that time.  There will be more regarding Molly coming up, as well as some more bonding between the two men, despite Brian's reluctance to acknowledge his feelings.

Thanks so much for reading, and especially taking the time to review, my friend.  Deeply appreciated. :)  ~Kim

So nice to see an update!

Poor Justin... I figured he'd have a sad backstory, thinking that it might be more of the usual "kicked out by a homophobic Craig." But somehow, knowing he'd had a loving family makes his current situation really difficult.  The scene of losing Molly was especially intense.

Already looking forward to the next installment.

Author's Response:

Hi, Trish!  Yes, we know more now about his history and circumstances.  And yeah, the normal scenario with Craig is usually the way it goes, but in this story I don't think even Justin really realized at that point how attracted he was to men, but something tells me he's finding out. ;)

I'll have the next part up just as soon as I can. Thanks so much for reading and commenting, my friend. Always appreciated.  ~Kim

So we learn more about Justin's past and a missing Molly.  Somehow I think Brian will do a little detective work.

Author's Response:

Hi, Phyllis!  Yes, we know more now about Justin's circumstances.  He's had a lot of heartbreak in his young life. The two men will continue to draw closer as Justin recuperates; how it plays out is yet to come.;)  (I know - tease!).  I'll have the next chapter up just as soon as I can.  Thanks as always for all the support you give writers.  ~Kim

Poor Justin, he has gone through a lot in his young life, to lose his parents to this terrible disease and then to be seperated from his sister, his only family left. That's awful.

But I hope he has a lucky streak now. And I have a feeling, Brian will not let him go after his recovery...not after what he learned about Justins history.

I keep my fingers crossed!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Yes, we know now why he was out on the streets, as well as the heartbreak he has had to endure.  And as for his future, I WILL say that I feel the two will continue to bond; what happens - or the result - remains to be seen. ;)

Thank you so much for reading and especially for commenting!  The next chapter will be posted just as soon as I can.  ~Kim

Great chapter, its so sad about Molly.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and especially commenting!  Yes, sad about Molly, but upon dong research, I found it wasn't that uncommon for orphans to be 'farmed out' if others needed help, or wanted to adopt them. I imagine the reasons varied, but sad in either case.  I'll have the next chapter up just as soon as I can. Thank you for the support.  ~Kim

No matter his age, I think Brian has met his match in Justin. Can't wait to see how he handles it all.

Horrible history he told Brian, especially about Molly. Whomever "adopted" her sounds like they wanted her for more than housekeeping. Required that she looked like the rest of the family. Have to wonder why. Maybe Brian can find out for Justin where she was sent to give Justin peace of mind.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sherry!  Yes, I think especially as Justin begins to recover further, the feisty aspect of his personality will come out more and more.  As for Molly, she will be the subject of more conversation/action coming up.  I appreciate you reading and reviewing.  More coming up soon. Thanks for the support.  `~Kim

Poor Justin ! I hope he could find Molly! Brian and Justin and the electricity everything seems to go at best!! Thank you for the update Kim, looking forward for more ! Hugs

Author's Response:

Hello, Marie-France!  Yes, the two men are slowly getting to know each other. I'm not sure Brian knows just yet what to make of his 'houseguest,' but they will continue to bond in the upcoming days. ;)  I'm glad you are enjoying the story, my friend.  More to come soon.  ~Kim

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for posting another chapter.  Justin's description of his separation from his sister Molly was really heartbreaking, as he was helpless to do anything while she was calling out to him.  I think it was tougher than his parents' passing because he knew he could do nothing to stop the epidemic from taking them.  Not knowing Molly's circumstances is a misery to Justin, hoping she's not having as tough a time as he's had.  Hopefully Brian can investigate her fate.  It was charming to see Brian so protective of Justin, even if a little domineering.  I loved Justin's "barking" reply, it was perfect to send that message across to Brian.  Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response:

Hi, there!  A belated Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!  Thank you. :)  Now it's back to work today - ugh.

As for the story, yes, he had a double heartbreak there with the death of his parents, and the separation from his sister.  And you're very perceptive about his feelings; it's not much different than someone going missing, and not knowing where to look for them.  And yes, Brian is still warring with his feelings about Justin - he's feeling some emotions he's never felt before, versus wanting to maintain his 'master of the house' persona, so there's a little mixture of both in him right now. ;)

I'll have the next chapter up just as soon as I can. I don't see this story as a super long, multi-chaptered one, but there will be several more coming up. Thanks for reading, and especially for commenting. It is deeply appreciated. ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris! Well, it's always flattering when a reader wants more, so I thank you for that. :)  You will see more bonding between the two men coming up, along with some twists that perhaps readers won't see coming.  As always, I'm thankful for your reading and support of my stories. Typos be damn! Thank you for getting up this chapter for me. Quickly you are moving the plot as they get to know each other better. The electricity between them is strong here. It should be interesting how you get past the time period barrier for men of that persuasion to find each other.

Love your writing, Kim. I'm thinking you have over 100 lurkers for each review you receive. Your work will be just as legendary as Elsa's became. Believe it.

Hello, friend - I'm glad you're liking this one. I forgot how much your enjoyed historical fics.  And thank you for your kind words. I truly appreciate that, and all you do for this site.  ~Kim

I absolutely love this. Poor Justin. I can almost feel the pain he has endured. His parents dying together. I'm hoping, one Brian Kinney is going to find Molly.
Love that Justin is so brilliant & beating Brian at Chess. I never played the game, but wanted to learn. Adore Vic, knowing Brian is smitten with young Justin. Lol.
Excellent chapter, Kim!
It was worth the wait. Thank you, my friend!
Looking forward to more.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  I'm so glad you're enjoying this story.  And yes, Justin has endured a lot in the past few years.  And yes, Vic, I think, is a good choice for this story in the role of confidante to both B and J.  I think there might be a few twists here along the way, too.  I hope you continue to enjoy this one!  More coming up. Author's Response:

Thank you, Marilynne!  That makes me delighted to hear how much you're enjoying this story.  There will be some twists coming up that hopefully will surprise some readers. ;)  Thank you for reading, and especially for the comments. Hey! I'm so sorry fpr not reviewing sooner but I've been so busy that I didn't even have time to read the latest chapter until tonight. I loved the interaction between Brian and Justin as well the way you made Debbie exactly how she really is despite the historical context. I hope to see more soon!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Now I'M the tardy one! I'm just grateful for you reading and commenting. :)  The two boys will be interacting a  lot more in the next chapter. I have it done; I just need to review it first, so it should be up in the next day or so. Thank you for all the support!  It is greatly appreciated.  ~Kim

Brian was quite surprised by his guest. The teasing conversation and quick wit was immensely enjoyable.

Can't wait for him to find out Justin's story. Educated and well mannered. Stubborn and determined. Brian finds it intriguing.

Already there seems to be a connection between the two, which I think shocked Brian a bit. Was it the blue eyes, sunshine smile, or both?

I like how he is the lord of the manor yet can be familiar enough with his staff to allow them to speak freely at times.

Vic knew what Brian's reaction to Justin would be.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sherry - I'm glad you're enjoying this story.  I think both men are going to benefit from this situation. ;)  Brian will try to resist becoming involved, but something tells me that's not going to work.  I'll have the next part up soon. I would say that Master Kinney is intrieged by his unexpected house guest. Justin may be a down and out street urchin but he is  feisty and proud. Vic and now  Debbie...I hope other members of the gang show up in this enjoyable story.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kim!  Yes, I would say you're very perceptive. ;)  I think they are going to both benefit from their chance encounter. Thank you for reading, and especially for commenting.  The next part will be up soon. :)  ~Kim

Justin's pride and maybe his stubborness as well has had string something inside Brian. I'm sure Justin's beauty as well...lol :-)

And I think with Justin's manners and knowledge Brian is challenged, in a good life affirming way!

I'm excited for more!

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend!  Yes, I think Brian is definitely curious about his unexpected visitor.  He can resist, but I don't think it wil work. ;)  I'm delighted that you are enjoying my first attempt at a historical story!  Thank you for reading, and for the feedback.  I greatly appreciate that.  ~Kim

Great chapter. Love the banter between Vic and Brian - Vic has his 'number' alright...LOL  Justin is quite a mystery which of course has peaked the master of the house's interest - I'm grinning to myself thinking Brian is already caught... Looking forward to more.

Author's Response:

Hi, Monica! So happy that you are enjoying the story!  Vic is a good mentor/confidante for both Brian and Justin, I think, as well as part matchmaker. :)  I, too, think Brian's already snared, but he just doesn't know it yet - ha!  The next part will be up soon. Thank you so much for reading and especially commenting!  ~Kim

I'm loving this story, and how feisty Justin is. He's just what Brian needs, someone to challenge him and make him think. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Hugs Hon ~ Kathleen

Author's Response:

Hi, Kathleen!  It's so good to see you writing again! I'm happy you're enjoying this story.  It's my first attempt at historical fiction, and I'm enjoying doing some research to learn more about that time. Readers will learn more about Justin's background coming up. Thank you for reading, and for the feedback, my friend.  ~Kim

Brian's learning more about Justin.  Which I suspect is what Vic wanted.  But I want to know is how Justin ended up out on the streets.

Author's Response:

Hi, Phyllis!  Yes, I think a little matchmaking on Vic's part might be in order here. ;)  Readers will soon learn about more of Justin's situation coming up, and how he wound up on the streets.  Thank you as always for reading and especially commenting!  The next part will be up soon.  ~Kim

Hi, Kim,

Vic knows Brian so well, of course, he is now interested in meeting the boy hearing that he is stubborn. Brian is attracted to people that have a backbone.  lol I love how you write both Brian and Justin as strong characters, well balanced :)

Brian is finding that there is much more to the street kid then Brian first thought, ( If he thought at all about it.)

Justin gives back just as good as Brian gives, but he is smart and does not push too hard.  Not sure if my review makes any sense lol  One thing I know for sure these to are in for a ride of there life. Thanks for another Great chapter! I am glad these two finally met.

Lisa

Author's Response:

Hi, Lisa!  Yes, I agree. I don't think Brian would be attracted to a weak-minded, submissive Justin.  I think he's both fascinated as well as a bit afraid of the feelings this virtual stranger is creating in him.  They will get to know each other better in the coming days (not in THAT way, though; at least not yet - ha!).  But Brian will definitely find himself drawn to his visitor.

So happy you're enjoying this one! Thank you for reading, and for the comments. I really do appreciate that.  ~Kim

Not surprised that Brian is mesmerized by Justin's beauty.  But to also find out he is intellegent is a plus.  Vic was smart to get Brian to agree for Justin to stay longer.  Everyone in that household will be in love with him.

Dee Dee

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  Yes, Brian is captivated by this enigma of a visitor.  But he will also be conflicted, b/c he doesn't get involved with another man; not in this sense, anyway, and I think it scares him.  In the next chapter, we will learn a bit more about how Justin became a homeless person, as well as how the two men begin to bond.  Thank you so much for reading, Dee Dee, and especially for the comments! I am very grateful.  ~Kim

You did it again. Wonderful chapter! I love Brian and Vic's relationship and having Debbie as the cook makes perfect sense. Their repartee is hilarious!

The first meeting went well, LOL. I have a feeling Brian is already very intrigued by this guest and will not regret his choice to let him stay in his house. I'm very interested in learning about Justin's story. And of course, seeing the two of them getting close is going to be a delight.

Thank you as always for another wonderful story!

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and for the comments, my friend.  More of Justin's back story will come out in the next part and ongoing chapters.  Now it remains to be seen how much of an impact Justin has on Brian's routine/emotions.  I appreciate the feedback. Next part will be coming up soon. Thank you once more for the support.  ~Kim

Absolutely love It!
Feel like I'm reading a page from an H. G. Wells Novel. I wonder if Master partakes of Laudanum for his own enjoyment. Lol.
Love that Vic knows Brian will be smitten with the beautiful, blue-eyed house guest. Lol. Debbie is the cook. So happy Vic & Debbie are in this.
This is so Debbie..."At first light each man was perfunctorily given the boot, never to return." Lol. So Brian.
They have the best beef bones to gnaw on.  Helps me to clean my teeth, too." Hysterical. He is a wise, little shit. Loving everything about this encounter.
Lord & Master. Lol. Justin isn't afraid to speak his mind.
"Yes, but I had to pawn my good silver a while back. It was weighing my sack down." lol.
Justin dabbing his mouth with the napkin is telling me he has a sad, hard life now, that he didn't have too long ago. So many questions? He certainly does have his country club manners even in his dire situation. Love the playful banter between them. I can't wait to see them play chess. Just a lovely piece you're writing, Kim. Brava, My friend. Anxiously waiting for the next part of this delightful journey. Thank You! Hugs!

Author's Response:

Hi, Annie, my friend!  Yes, I did read this before, but somehow I think it did get deleted, so thank you for posting it again.  Some of what Justin has been through - and why he is out on the streets - will be explained soon. Obviously, he has not been a street urchin permanently...or he's the best mannered one they've ever had - ha!  Thanks again for perserving in leaving your comments. I especially enjoy reading what particular parts someone enjoys reading, so I appreciate you doing that. Had such fun seeing you again!  We'll do it again some time, I'm sure of it!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

A most excellent first contact between Brian and Justin. Brian was a total gentleman since Justin is so drop dead beautiful; Justin was just proud enough to not appear clingy or star-struck. Their friendship? is off to a very good start.

I'm wondering how many chapters before they really get to "know" each other.

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  Yes, the two have initially begun their journey of discovery together. Coming up, they will bond in various ways to the point where it may be difficult for both to part once Justin's recovery is complete.  I've got a few twists and turns coming up, though!  I hope you continue to enjoy it. Thank you for reading, and for your comments.  I know all too well how incredibly busy you are right now!  ~Kim

Was not expecting that from Brian. I thought he would stay distant. Apparently Justin has an intresting backstory. Can't wait to hear that. Great chapter.

Author's Response:

Well, I would say he couldn't resist taking a peek, and now that he has, I think he won't be able to resist taking over Justin's recuperating responsibilities personally. ;)  More of how Justin came to be out on the street will be disclosed coming up.  So glad you're enjoying this one, Heidi! Oh what a lovely chapter, I love every letter, dear Kim! You feel the tension between the two, it will be wonderful weeks of recovery for Justin, but also for Brian, who will never let him go! Happy weekend xo

Author's Response:

Hello, dear friend!  So glad that you are enjoying this.  And yes, during his recovery, both men will learn more about each other.  The big question will be whether or not Brian will let him leave once he has no more reason for Justin to remain.  Thank you for reading, and for your comments! Good meeting for Brian and Justin ! I think that Justin has a very painful past and that we will learn what happened; I hope that in this story he always draws and maybe Brian will find him an activity. But I do not want to encroach on your story Kim, but I love it so much and I look forward to every update !!

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  Yes, Justin has had some grief in his life, which has caused him to be in his current predicament. Coming up, he will confide part of what has happened to place him out on the streets, and Brian will find himself more drawn to him.  And don't worry! I love the suggestions, and how interested you are in the story!  I will have the next part up soon. Thank you for reading, and for always being so supportive. :)  ~Kim
