I am so into your story. I was pleased to see that Brian didn't completely resort to his usual form of pain management like tricking, drinking, and drugging. Justin has his work cut out for him! Please consider updating this story, it is very moving.

I agree with that niggling voice.  That was the point of them  honesty in their marriage wasn't it?

Author's Response:

Thank you for being such a loyal reviewer!

Poor Brian. I really feel for him, my father went through chemo as well so I now how it affects a person. It's good that he has a loving partner by his side. It breaks my heart to see them both like that but on the other hand it's amazing how much love is there, for better and for worse times. I hope that the better times will come soon for them.

I'm so glad to see that Brian is finally letting Justin help.  It wasn't nearly as bad as the first time.

It's nice that Brian accepted that Justin was a help and thanked him, not to mention letting him top.  Things seem to be going well for now.

Author's Response:

I felt like things should be different this time around since they're married! Thank you for your review!

It's all that testosterone.  Too much of it makes you an asshole!  Now he won't be so much of one.

Well things are going over better.  Perhaps Brian should tell Cynthia what's going on?  At least until the surgery Brian seems to be functioning okay.

Let me check...but send it to me again just in case ;)

Author's Response:

Sent it!

And the battle begins again. I kind of figured that Brian would need hormone replacement after losing his remaining testicle. He has a long road ahead of him...but at least he won't go through it alone.

Author's Response:

There's more about his hormone replacement in the next chapter! It's not that big of a deal in the scheme of things. Just a shot every so weeks. Did you get my email?

No worries hun, I fully intend to keep reading ;) please feel free to email me anytime

Oh no!!!  So, like, what happens now?  This is not good.  I feel so bad for both of them. Having cancer once must be awful.  Twice?  Beyond imagination.  Life can be so harsh.

Enjoying the story very much.

Author's Response:

Brian's kind of cancer is actually rather rare. I explain more in the next chapter!

Poor Brian and Justin, too. Everything will be more than right for both, Brian is Brian Kinney and Justin his lovely husband who will support and take care of him unconditionally.

I'm glad that you're moving fast with the story, it holds back my anxiety. Thank you

Not crazy about Brian being without both his pecans, but hopefully the boys can get through this with minimal emotional damage.

Author's Response:

I hope you'll keep reading! I sent you a PM! Never fear Brian will be fine!

Oh God!!

Now, now.  He needs to calm down.  He told Justin, now let Justin do his thing.  I do hope he gets the Nike account.

It was a very intense chapter. I feel so bad for Brian. Does the surgery means removing the second ball and no possibility of having sex anymore at all? It's kind of bad from me but I cannot imagine a Brian not having sex; although he is so much more, sex defines him to a substantial extent. I hope he will be ok in the end.

Author's Response:

He will be ok in the end never fear :) it might be touch and go for a bit but he'll be alright.

Great chapter. I liked it a lot

Very well done.  But how does Brian discover he has cancer again?

Author's Response:

That's coming up in the next few chapters! Don't want to spoil it for you!

Is it just me, or did the title change? Either way this is great.

Author's Response:

It did! I didn't like the title and I'm writing some more of it and it didn't seem to fit anymore! Still the same story though!

Reviewer: rainbow83 (Anonymous) · Date: September 28, 2015 10:24 PM · On: The way the sun shines

Sad to read that the story will focus on Brian having cancer for the second time, but I'm pleased with this first chapter because the sentences about Justin not going to NY was perfect. In the serie, there was no need for Justin to do it; for me it was a lame justification and an extremely appalling ending. Anyway, here there are plenty of stories to make up for. Good job.

Very very nice!

Welcome to Midnight Whispers! It's always a pleasure to see a new author here, it's amazing how Queer as Folk still inspires new people after all these years. Now about the story: You described their happiness and their love perfectly, I feel so bad for them that soon angst will come. I hope that the diagnosis won't lead to Brian losing another testicle, that would be just too much for him. I hope they will be allright in the end and will get through everything together, strong and supporting each other. I wish you a lot of inspiration for writing the next chapters! Hugs.

Welcome to Midnight Whispers, Vikki!  Thank you for posting your first B/J fic on here. I like it so far!  I'm always a sucker for the boys in love, and for them to be married is a plus.;)  I loved it on the show when Justin was so tender in bed with Brian after he discovered his diagnosis, and how he took charge afterward. I wish they had shown more of Justin taking care of him, but something tells me you might be about to rectify that.;)

Looking forward to the next part!  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the lovely review! As it happens I am out to rectify that situation! I love Justin when he takes control and helps Brian despite his stubborness. Thanks again and I can't wait to tell more of the story.
