I loved this story just as much as the first time I read it. Great job!

I give this story five stars. It is going on my favorites list. I hate to see it end...

Cats are my weakness, Pumpkin’s story almost made me cry :( I’m so happy Justin and Brian chose to take him with them, I’m sure that little kitten’s life will change completely now. And they took the mother! That just made my day, I *love* animals stories with happy ending. And Brian continues to shock me :) He’s still so open and honest in his feelings. Embarrassing, but sweet. I only fear what is to come once he wakes up!..

Animals in general are my weakness! I can't choose if I like dogs, cats, ferrets, or birds more as pets lolol. I had to make Brian take in an amputee kitten and his mother. I just had to. Brian is being quite embarrassing here. But he can't help it. He's just so ridiculously happy and he's been holding back his feelings for so long that they just exploded as when they did come out. Oh my God, I can’t believe Justin finally realized the truth! Wow! I was waiting for so long for it to happen. Poor Brian, I felt terrible for him in this chapter, it was too much, too painful, too humiliating. I hope he will feel better soon, because it’s indeed difficult to see him like this. Brian is very innocent here. He holds too much love that he has never felt like he could express. He hid a lot of his less Kinneyesque thoughts and now it's all tumbling out at once (plus it's amplified to the max lolol.) He will remember being Pod!Brian. He'll feel immense embarrassment and try to overcompensate for a bit but I think the experience may have opened his eyes a bit. Sorry to send you through the wringer! Lol. It is supposed to be a cracky and funny story but I do tend to get angsty. At least the angst is over the top, like most of the story is. Marilyn has some control issues she needs to work on. She also tends to overdose her victims on her spell lolol. Brian is totally desperate at this point. He is not afraid of expressing his feelings anymore, that's for sure. Justin always had most of those memories but it took reliving them to realize how much he really wanted to be with Brian once again. I'm sure it was an emotional time for him haha. I'm glad you are having a blast reading it! The final three chapters should be up within the next week!

Soooo...I started reading this chapter and was hoping the title would elude to something situational happening between Brian and Emmett, so imagine my surprise that they had started fucking? And on somewhat of a regular basis...not sure how I feel about that one. And the spell preventing Ted from telling the truth about everything...not sure how I feel about this either. Marilyn is playing a very dangerous game here, I hope she hasn't caused any irreparable damage.

I liked your synopsis of this chapter:  "Something happens between Brian and Emmett." Well, THAT was an understatement! I admit I struggled with this one.  Is this Brian's way somehow of exacting poetic justice on Justin (not that he's even aware of it yet?)  And what of Emmett's friendship with Justin? How will that be affected, too, not to mention Justin's relationship with Brian once all the truth is revealed?

At least Justin has the benefit of not knowing why he's doing what he's doing, and being controlled by another source (who, BTW, I'd like to give a big kick in the pants to for the havoc she is creating!).  But Brian wasn't under any such 'spell' when he decided to make his and Emmett's relationship physical.  I'm surprised that "Mr. I don't fuck my friends" would do that. So not sure how I feel about that. 

This chapter was definitely a lot more angsty, and I kind of miss the levity that was present in previous chapters.  I hope this gets straightened out soon.  Can just imagine the repercussions, too, after everyone realizes what has happened?  I guess I can only hope that Marilyn somehow puts a 'forgetfulness' spell on those involved so they can resume their friendship/relationships with each other. But in a way, I have a problem with that, too, because it involves Marilyn basically getting away with everything she did.  I detest the idea that she thinks she can in essence play
God with other people's lives.

I'll be interested in seeing where you take it from here.  This is certainly a unique plot!  Thanks for the update, Anne.  ~Kim

I know it was bit of a risky move to have Brian and Emmett take this step. I'm not sure if I would say it was Brian's way of getting back at Justin. Maybe a little. Ultimately, I think the man is lonely but is still wanting to play out this thing with Emmett. Since he can't sleep around and he's a very sexual man, he can really only sleep with one person. And since Emmett is pretty sexual himself, he just sort of went with it. I also think Brian is sort of transferring a small percentage of his feelings for Justin to Emmett. Emmett is showing him understanding and kindness. This is something he really needs right now. Since Brian is very vulnerable right now, he is finding himself feeling attached to the man who has been keeping him company. Justin does have an excuse while Brian doesn't in the case of wanting to sleep with one of their friends. But Brian thinks that Justin is doing this very consiously and doesn't know the truth or the full extent of Justin's craziness. ;)

I was surprised how angsty this chapter turned out but I think the whole situation called for it. Also, Justin only had a small role in this chapter so that of course made it less funny lol. He will have a bigger part in the next chapter. The chapter after that will be Crazy!Justin's last chapter. But we'll have Sweet-Emotional!Brian taking his place so that will be fun, but also a little sad at times. 

Mysterious Marilyn definitely has gone too far with this. I feel like she is a very manipulative person in this universe at times. She wants to help people and usually does just by being honest about their future. However, sometimes she likes a lot of drama.

I hate Mysterious Marilyn. Playing with people's lives like that. When the spell is broken, please have her be punished instead of thanked. So many of these fics have people like that be all smug and thanked fjor "helping them see the light" and I hate that. Sometimes the end does not justify the means. I know this fic is suppose to be funny, but I can't help but be angry instead.

I liked the more serious chapter.  It seems like the perfect point for centering and a sober review of the mess everyone is in.

Brian and Emmett - I am not too thrilled with them having sex but it may be causing Brian to open up more.  If the spell on Brian comes to pass he is going to need someone like Emmett to help him through it.  Justin is not going to be happy when he is back in his right mind.  

Ted is a good friend. I am happy he tried to tell Brian about the spell on Justin.  MM must have put the spell on him as it would be counter productive to her goals of getting Brian and Justin into a healthy relationship.

Brian is a tough nut to crack.  I can't wait to see what the spell does to him.  If MM should have done this first (but the story wouldn't have been half as funny.)

Justin - Uggh.  Pathetic.  Emailing cat photos? He is going to be so pissed when the spell wears off.  For now though - I still want to gag him.

Brian and Emmett are an odd couple so it was strange to have them take this step. But you are right, it is causing him to open up more. Emmett is going to try to be there for him but since Brian is in such an awful and confused state right now, his feelings will be amplified once the spell comes to pass.

Ted really is a good friend. And he really did try. He wants everything to be okay between the two of them. At least Brian saved him. That may give him a little hope that Brian doesn't want him dead. MM probably did put a little spell on him while he wasn't looking. She would never kill him or bring him close to death. She would never leave him with lasting effects. But she will keep him from telling Brian.

Brian will react to the spell pretty strongly, although, while it might have a few comedic aspects, it won't be quite as comedic as Justin's lovespell. 

Justin is a mess, that's for sure. He only has about a week left until he is back to normal though. ;)

I *love* every update to this amazing story!:) I missed it  - and this chapter was hilarious. I know Brian is hurting – and he’s clearly very angry with Justin — but in this chapter he covered it well, so I just laughed at all this ridiculousness. Brian and Emmett, oh-oh, I still can’t believe it! I can’t decide which couple is stranger, their or Justin and Ted’s.

Vow of celibacy – wow, Ted finally found one way to stop Justin from molesting him! I enjoy  their craziness, but I really look forward to Justin’s waking up and realizing it’s Brian who he truly loves.

Oh my God, Brian is really desperate! I couldn’t imagine he would be willing to take this thing with Emmett so far. It’s as amusing as it’s sad. He’s practically obsessed with his attempts to hurt Justin – or at least to have a small part of his attention. It’s even more depressing to think this won’t work. Well, definitely not now.

Justin is getting more and more embarrassing with Ted! I can’t even look at him now, honestly! When the hell is Marilyn going to change everything back? Brian is broken-hearted, but Justin is making himself a fool in front of everyone! I’d die from shame.

Oh, I *loved* Brian and Justin’s brief encounter in the diner! They really look like an old married couple, even now :) That was hilarious.

So, three more weeks. At least this curse has an end-date! I adore Ted in your story, he’s so in-canon – I recognize him in every words he says. I’m so happy he knows the truth now! But wow, having to show more affection to Justin? That will be amazing – in a sadistic way! I wonder how Brian and Emmett will react.

Hello! Yes, Brian is definitely taking this very far. He's very hurt and wants to hurt Justin back but wants to do it in a way that catches Justin's and Ted's attention. Of course, he doesn't know that it is literally impossible to catch Justin's attention right now. The only way he could do that is if he became Ted. 

Ah, Justin. He's just really in love so what can I say? ;) Marilyn is going to make this play out until Brian takes another approach. If he doesn't, she'll have to get her spell book out again. 

I like writing for Ted and Emmett in this story. They are sort of the straight man characters in this story, especially Ted. May be weird to call them that but they are trying to stay rational as everything falls apart.

The next chapter will be family dinner. The 'couples' acting like couples will be quite an interesting situation. The rest of their friends will be shocked for sure.

To be honest, I don't quite see how getting humiliated by someone you love will make you appreciate them more.. I mean, if what Brian is going through happened to me, I'd never take that person back. I'd be like "you don't want me? Fine."

I think it's more of a shot to Brian's pride when it comes to this situation and the fact that Justin left him due to simply falling out of love with him rather than due to Brian's antics. Plus it's Ted. Ted is Brian's close friend and he's well...Ted. Ted is the last person he perceived as a threat to his love life. If it had been another Ethan then Brian may have acted the way you would. I think Marilyn initially thought he would behave differently. First he would lick his wounds then he would try to win Justin back. But that's simply not what's happening and Brian decided to be petty instead. Also, I don't think Brian is humiliated by Justin's actions but more humiliated that the person in question is Ted. Plus this is a cracky comedy. It's not supposed to be all that realistic ;)

There's a bit more awkwardness and torture on the way but the story will be over in probably five chapters. But Justin will get a little less horrifying once Ted leads him on a little. Sounds cruel but that's how it will work. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I don’t know...I think Marylin is letting things go too far. She doesn’t seem to care that she is kind of ruining Ted's life at the moment. Yeah the intentions might be good, but...I just think it's not right to play around with others emotions like this. And for Ted to know that he's just a pawn in her game doesn't make it any better. Hopefully Marylin has a damn good plan to keep the gang as friends when this is all over.

Every time I think I have my favorite line, I read the next paragraph, and find another one even more perfect than the last! From Brian's private musings trying to convince himself he doesn't care, to Justin's day-dreaming regarding Ted. (5:30? Really, Jusitn, LOL!)

To say that I'm shocked by the events that have taken place in this chapter would be an understatement. Marylin really is getting too much enjoyment out of fucking up other people's lives. I really do think that the Marilyn in this story is a complex person. She means well most of the time, but she's also egotistical, power hungry, and has a taste for drama. She probably took it in to an extent but, since she didn't think that Justin would be this strongly affected, she didn't realize how much it would really change things. Hi, Anne! Wow, this just keeps getting more and more tangled up. And what in the world is Brian thinking of, talking Emmett into pretending to be his partner?  How sophomorish - ha!  Justin getting up and singing "Hello" was inspired. Too funny! I remember that song, too (should I admit that?).

A couple favorite lines:  “They’ll be good together, don’t you think? They just have so many things in common. They’re both so...tall."  Ha!  

And this one: "His sense of fashion is absolutely impeccable, with his slightly too large olive green polo shirt and his khaki pants that cut off just a little too soon so they can show off the purest and whitest socks Justin has ever seen."  OMG, is Justin going to be so embarrassed when (and if) he finds out what he's been doing and saying under Marilyn's spell. He would never in his right mind think that - even less think this outfit is chic!

Speaking of Marilyn, how would she feel if Brian doesn't act the way she thinks he's going to act once the spell has worn off?  And how would she feel if Justin winds up married to Ted (which I doubt would happen - Ted would go kicking & screaming if they did for fear of his life).  Not so sure I'm liking her manipulation here, but if it gets a certain stubborn brunet to fess up regarding his feelings, I guess I can forgive her.;)

I think the Marilyn in this story is a bit of an egotistical drama queen. She means well to an extent, but she loves gossip and drama. I imagine she uses her powers for good and selfless causes as well, but she likes to be entertained. Since she is a bit egotistical, I imagine she would be quite annoyed if her plan didn't work. She may give up but she would hassle Brian for a while. And if Justin and Ted stayed together? I think that's where she would step in and save Ted or pit Ted under a love spell as well haha. Hopefully things do go according to plan though! But I am going to write a few bumps in the road just to be silly - ha!

Oh, I loved this chapter – Emmett is a very interesting character, he’s loyal and stubborn and endlessly supportive. I loved how he helped Brian – the driving lesson was fun :)

Drunk Brian was both hilarious and sad to watch. His anger, fury and pain are palpable – I can almost see how brokenhearted he feels. Despite his resentment, he still is so in love with Justin… of course.

I adore Emmett and would have loved to have more of the Kinneycutt friendship in the show. Drunk Brian was both hilarious and fun to write! He is definitely taking the break-up hard but the reasoning behind it even harder. He is very in love with Justin and, since he has never given his heart to someone before, heartbreak (when it comes to romantic relationships, at least) is a new feeling and experience for him.

I don't know, Justin on a mission can be pretty intimidating! Lol. Ted is definitely in a predicament right now and he can't help but go into panic mode hehehe. It's hard to blame Emmett for laughing. It's sort of a funny situation, even though Brian is obviously distraught.

What can I say? Work was absolutely dead yesterday lol. No emergencies to cover on the news at all equals out to me writing stories of importance! ;) 

Have fun on your trip! I should get a couple of chapters of different stories done throughout the week. I'm not sure how I'll be feeling though so I don't know how productive I'll be. My 16 year old dog who I have had since she was a puppy and since I was 8 years old is in awfully bad shape so we might be putting her down in the next week or two if things don't look up for her. I consider her my best friend so it will be very depressing for me to go through doing that. Fingers crossed that they do start looking up and we can keep her a little longer but it's not looking great. :(

Justin is fun to write. He definitely isn't himself, that's for sure. I keep meaning to make a chapter from his POV but I'm sort of scared to enter his mind to be honest. It has to be a scary and very obsessive place right now lolol.

Another great chapter, Anne! I always loved Emmett's character, and the few times when he and Brian ineracted privately.  Still remember the convo at Woody's about Blake being a substance abuse counselor - so funny!  And the time when he came into Brian's office to root for Ted. Emmett was always such a kind, tender soul.

And poor Brian - I know he sort of deserved it, but I do hope you put him out of his misery soon, even though I love a jealous Brian. This one seems so forlorn and desolate, though. 😓

Thank you, Kim! Emmett is one of my favorites too. I always wanted more scenes between Brian and Emmett since their differences complemented each other so well. I wrote a one-shot revolving around their friendship for Valentine's Day but that wasn't enough so I decided to let him have an important role here as well. He is such a kind and tender person, like you said, and really brings a lot of joy to the show. 

Brian is going to go into jealousy and rage mode here pretty soon. He and Justin will have another scene, not this chapter, but the one after. We might find him being a bit petty and trying to make Justin jealous in return. 

I would be getting my stories done faster if I hadn't decided to start so many WIPs! haha. But that's my fault. That's awesome that this story is one of your favorites right now! It means a lot to hear that and thank you for reading and reviewing! Hugs back! - Anne

I enjoy reading this soo much! I feel sorry for Brian but not too much but not too much, cause he wouldn't like that. Plus it's actually good thing that he realises how much he cares about Justin, it'll help afterwards when things go back to normal.

But poor Ted! Doesn't know what's going on and is confronted with his angry boss. Emmett can be a big help in this whole mess I guess, considering that he's rather objective and close to both Justin and Ted.

I'm glad you are enjoying it, Astrid! Brian definitely hates pity, especially when someone is pitying him but it's hard not to in this case. This will definitely serve as a lesson for him.

Ted really is the victim here. He doesn't want to upset Brian, not just because he's his boss but because he considers Brian his close friend who has helped him out several times. Emmett is a good person so I feel like he is going to try to figure out what is going on. I don't know if he'll make sense of it though. ;)

Another amazing chapter! I loved it so much, I can’t describe it properly! You really are great at combining humor and angst. I never know whether to laugh or cry while I’m reading this story.

Lovesick Justin is something. Your captured his indifference to Brian and his infatuation with Ted perfectly – I’m horrified to even imagine how painful it must be to our poor Brian. Especially knowing his fears and his insecurities…

Ted is behaving very decently – I didn’t even expect him to be *this* loyal to Brian. He has my admiration. I think he wouldn’t mind having a bit of a romance with Justin, but he understands how Brian feels. Ted is very in-canon here – he’s sarcastic, self-deprecating, gloomy, funny. I enjoy his parts of the story.

And of course most of all I love seeing Brian! Christ, what a moment… I thought you were going to torture us longer, but no, the truth came out! Wow, I loved that emotional moment. It was incredible. Brian’s anger and disbelief – and hurt – are deciphered so accurately! I can’t wait for the next chapter! What will Brian do? When will Justin get himself back? What a cliffhanger!.. Aw, thank you! Lovesick Justin is very obsessive, that's for sure. His world revolves around Ted. He draws Ted, he dreams about Ted, he imagines what their wedding will be like and how many kids they'll adopt. Lovesick Justin feels like Ted is the most important being on the planet. He's so obsessed that he doesn't have time to think of why he is suddenly feeling and acting this way. I have to wonder what Daphne thinks about all this. 

I do think that Ted wants to do the right thing. He does have a lot of respect for Brian and doesn't want to take part in hurting the man. But Justin is very attractive and I think, if the circumstances were different and Justin wasn't doing a 180, he would probably respond positively to any romantic advances from Justin. However, despite Brian's feelings and Justin's obsessive behavior, Ted will still be tempted.

Oh, Brian. He's in such a state right now. He had his day of wallowing and tried to dive back into work. Things were going okay for him and he was having a decent day, considering. He even thanked Ted for being so supportive and little did he know Ted was the man causing all this pain in the first place hahaha. Poor Ted. Brian is very heartbroken but now he is also feeling very betrayed. As soon as the punch to the gut fades he is going to be very pissed and flabbergasted.

I remember an episode of Misfits, a British show, where one of the characters is manipulated to fall in love with a man, even though he's straight. Hi, Anne - still immensely enjoying this story. I'm a sucker for a jealous Brian, and Justin's actions are just too funny. Poor Ted - attracted to this beautiful man, but also totally bewildered by it. I think it's nice that he's trying to do the honorable thing by Brian, but I wonder how long he can hold out.;)  Not sure I'm ready for some actual sex scenes between him and Ted, though! Can you imagine, too, Justin's utter mortification when he finds out later what he did (if that happens?). Or perhaps Marilyn will take pity on all of them, and somehow make them forget.

Brian is definitely jealous, but even moreso, betrayed. Poor guy lolol. Justin is definitely going all out to show Ted is "love" for him, isn't he? Ted is in a rough place. He has never had romantic feelings for Justin but even he knows he's a very attractive guy. When Justin all of the sudden puts all of his focus into Ted, he is definitely confused and doesn't want to hurt Brian but it is tempting...

I'm in the same boat as you because I don't know if I am ready to write any Ted and Justin sex scenes, lol! But we shall see if they occur ;) Justin would be quite mortified, but I think, knowing Justin, he will also feel very guilty over breaking up with Brian and how he did it and leading Ted on. Marilyn will make another appearance in a couple of chapters. :)

I can’t describe how happy I am to have found this fantastic story! This is my most favorite one of yours right now. The idea is very funny, it could be a hilarious, humorous story, but no, you made it dramatic, emotional and painful. Wow! Honestly, it just grabbed my heart and didn’t let go of it until I could no longer breathe. I feel a little jealous because I could never describe feelings in the way you do it. The chapter where Justin leaves Brian was completely heartbreaking, raw and bindingly painful, I felt so sorry for him, I could cry. This is Brian’s worst nightmare – Justin leaves him not because he can’t stand his behavior any longer, but because he just doesn’t love him. I believed every word! I was just going to have dinner when I started reading your story, and I forgot about it at all – you got me captured and fascinated! I’m happy Michael chose to push his anger at Brian away a little and came to him when he needed him. This is a real friendship. Brian was in a desperate state, he was obviously quickly falling apart – he called Michael for help, he called him to keep his sanity. Perfect, mind-blowing, piercing moment. I got goose bumps. It felt very real, I believed every word. 

And you showed Justin’s infatuation with Ted very well. It’s embarrassing and funny at times – I can’t imagine what will happen next! Most of all I can’t wait to find out how Brian will react when he learns his rival is in fact Ted. Ted, who Brian considers a loser at being attractive and who works for him.

Marilyn is really interesting! I loved her. She is helpful, observant, curious, funny – and intimidating. How will she sort this mess out?? What will happen to Brian and Justin – and Ted? Will they forget it? Justin is going to feel awful, I’m afraid.

Thank you for incredible story! I look forward to the next chapter – you can’t imagine how much. To make Brian break down like that and still make him in-canon is astonishing. You're very talented.

Oh wow! This review made my day! This is a really fun story to write and will mostly stay comedic. However, the break up scene needed to be honored as heartbreaking and cruel so it did end up taking an angsty route. We saw how he reacted when he pushed Justin away and Justin left him for Ethan. We saw tears in his eyes when Justin left him mid-season five and we could tell how affected he was when Justin left for New York. But Brian knew that Justin still loved him. It was only time. He never expected Justin to be so nonchalant about leaving him and stating that he was no longer in love with him. For Brian, a man who has trouble accepting and expressing love, this is a huge blow to him. Justin is the only man he has ever been in love with so I figured Justin breaking up with him like this would hit him like a sledgehammer. I really do believe that Michael would put his anger aside if Brian called him in this state and go be there for him. I was glad to display their friendship in this light.

I am having a lot of fun writing Justin's altered state when it comes to Ted. Poor Teddy is so confused about it all. He really has come to respect and like Brian a lot and considers him a good friend so the upcoming chapters will be very stressful for him. 

I really like Marilyn and would have liked to see more of her. Her moments made the show so quirky and randomly added a supernatural aspect, which was odd but in the greatest way possible. She is going to have her hands full in this story, that's for sure. She does love some good drama though and felt like Brian needed to be put in his place so she will keep an eye on him and step in when it's time to spice things up and again if she decides to fix things. 

My cat is pretty wonderful, isn't she? She is usually quite beautiful (she's all white with a few black hairs on her head and has one blue eye and one green eye which usually stand out in pictures but you can barely tell here) but I caught a sour expression. An expression that sort of mirrors her cranky old lady-like meow, to be honest. :)
