Reviews For Choices
Reviewer: britinmanor (Signed) · Date: September 25, 2018 10:05 PM · On: Chapter 1

I've started reading, 'Entwined', while also reading the comments along with the chapters. As you know, almost all of them contain comments about reading this story and it's sequel. So, I stopped and thought I'd at least read this Prologue to see what all the hype was about.

I can say it's a different idea for a Brian/Justin fic, and it might be hard to read in parts, as I'm one to really love Brian and Justin as partners. That's not saying I won't give the sequel a try. I'll have to think about that after I finish reading, 'Entwined'. (which BTW I'm about to start Chapter 6). It also helps to know they will end up together. I'm, like others, fail to see Brian really falling in love with someone else. I can see him having a 'fuck-buddy' relationship, but Brian was not the type to give his heart away, especially after giving it to Justin, who had to fight for it for five years. But each to their own. I read people have given you grief over it, and that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. My motto... don't like it... quit reading it. Authors put a lot of time and heart into writing a story. Who do they think they are for tearing the authors apart?

Anyway, this Prologue tore at my heart. Justin is obviously in deep pain because of his decision.

Hugs, Cathy

Author's Response:

Hey Cathy,

Thank you for choosing to read Entwined :) I hope you like it.

Choices was my first story and the prologue to a difficult story. As you say, I totally get that some readers don’t like this story because of Brian involved with another man. And my motto is the same as yours ! Don’t like, don’t read. You wouldn’t believe the emails of hate I got for that fic. And I have a friend who wrote a B/O story and who received death threats and suicidal blackmailing. Some people clearly are first class trolls. I don’t mind them anymore, but I remember that as a newbie author, it was a little frightening.

Thank you again for your review and understanding :)

Hugs from France <3

No matter how many times I read this, I tear up.

Feels like the last 10 mins of the show

So good and so painful at the same time

Author's Response:

Hi Terera!

I'm so thrilled by your review :) Choices is my first attempt at writing, and I'm always happy to read the readers's thoughts, or even to know some people are still reading it today.

Thank you so much!

OMG! So much sadness in such a small amount of words. This short story had me reaching for a box of tissues. Justin's sacrifice is so moving, it's, to me, the ultimate sacrifice to make for the one he loves.

And no, I don't hate you for writing this. I think you did a marvellous job. And your use of the English language is wonderful.

I'm off to read the sequel as well.

XOXO

Soirsa

Author's Response:

I love your review. You perfectly understand what the story is about. I must warn you, though, I'm not sure you will like the sequel, because it's not a story for everyone. All I can promise as that if you succeed to read the first twenty-two chapters (I know, I'm crazy lol), after that, it's all about B/J's love, even if it's not a story about just B/J love story. It's a story about Brian's falling in love again and I know it was a hard read for many readers. But most of all, it's a story about love.

BTW you might have already read that one, a long time ago. It's your second review, and it means so much to me, you have no idea :) Thank you also, Soirsa, for adding me as a favorite. It's a beautiful present, and I'm over the moon :)

XOXO

Alois

Emotional but good. Just about to start the sequel - hoping for good things for our boys.

Author's Response:

Hi my friend! Thank your for reading this one, and for your comment, I deeply appreciate it :) You might have already read the sequel as I have a reviewer who have the same penname as you and who commented on Consequences ;) If not, I hope you will enjoy it, as it's definitely not a story for everyone. Thank you again!*hugs*

Wonderful start. I'm off to read the rest. TAG

Author's Response:

Hi Tag! Thank you to give it a try :) I hope you will enjoy it, even with all the angst! I'm honored you decided to read this story.

Very good story.

Author's Response:

Hi Flora,

Thank you for letting me know you like this story, I deeply appreciate it. "Choices" is the prologue of my longer fic, if you want to try it, even if I must warn you that it's not a read for everyone.

Anyway, I send you my best wishes for this end of year. Thank you again :)

I just read the prologue, since I didn't see you had one. Oh Justin, sweetheart...

Anyway, I love it. Of course my heart aches for Justin, but I am happy that is main concern is that Brian is happy, even though it breaks his heart that Brian may have moved on.

Author's Response:

Hi Anne,

I wrote this at a time when I didn't know if I was going to write 'Consequences' or not. It seems I did since then lol.

Anyway, I'm glad you like it :) Thank you for reading

Bonjour, Alois!

I finally got a chance to sit down and read something of yours.  This story is so, so beautifully written :)  I’m really having an incredibly difficult time believing that English is not your first language.  Sentences like this one had me savouring every word: “He seems paralyzed, lost in thought, grounded to the asphalt of the sidewalk, though if one looked closer, they would notice that his line of vision never alters.”

Your writing is so wonderfully descriptive.  I can picture every scene and every moment.

I also love you for daring to split Brian and Justin up - something not many are willing to do.  Thank you for writing such a lovely prologue.  You definitely have me intrigued!  I look forward to more about Brian’s ability to love :)

*hugs from Canada*

Author's Response:

Hi Sarah!

Thank you so much for your kinds words. This story was the first I ever wrote in my life and I'm really thrilled you liked it! ***big smile***. I love to describe moments and emotions, so it seems we have something in common ;P

I was just about to read more of your story and I say it again, I love the way you write, the description of each passing moment, your obsession of the details. To me, you have a gift to describe things and you're an amazing author.

and thank you for actually supporting me about splitting Brian and Justin. I know it's not a popular move, but writing about it is really interesting for me, as it allows me to write a different story, even if I know it's not a story for every one.

* big hugs my dear friend *

~alois~

PS: thanks for choosing this sentence and telling me you have savoured it, it's actually my favorite sentence too in this story :D

How can anybody hate a so well written story. The end had me reaching for a box of tissues. And then the suprise of a sequel, wich I'm of to read now.

Your choice of Justin keeping track of Brians life instead of the other way around is great. To see Brian happy with another man but I know Justin will always be in his heart and I hope they have a happy ending in their future.

Thank you again for a wonderful read.

Hug,

Soirsa

Author's Response:

Hi Soirsa,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm really glad you appreciated this story! As you have already seen, it's just a prologue to a longer fic, and I really hope you will enjoy it, as I know it's not an easy read for everyone.

And thank you for reading, and for your comment, it means a lot to me :)

*big hugs from France!*

ok - if just a prologue can make me reach for the tissues to dry my eyes - then this is a story that has to be written - and you are off to such a great start

I love that Justin has the unlikely ally in Michael to keep keep up to date on Brian's life - and that they seem to love and respect each other

unlike most - I also like the idea of delving into Brian's ability to love - it often occured to me that once Justin broke down those walls and forced Brian to feel what being loved feels like - that Brian would not be able to spend the rest of his life living without that - even if it meant someone else until they could find their way back to each other - which we know they always do in the end (can I hope they do here as well?)

While I think Brian would initially struggle with loving someone else - and feeling those things when it is not directed at his Justin - I think trying to live with his heart closed back up again would only serve to make him miss Justin more - and in his mind he had to sacrifice what they had to offer Justin all he could be

I am really looking forward to reading your take on this - please write this story - just as you imagined it - don't ever let any one of us squash your inner muse

loving life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the great review!

I totally agree with you about Brian, and especially when you say that in his mind he had to sacrifice what they had to offer Justin all he could be.

that´s exactly what this story is about, even if there will be more to it.

and in my mind, this kind of sacrifice, on both part in that story, shows that their love will always be there, even if they don't see each other for years. You just don't stop loving someone when you are willing to give him this kind of freedom to live his life fully.

and even if there will be other people in their life, they will never forget...

So yes, in that story, Brian will meet someone else, and there will share something special, because that´s what life is about...

But in the end...

:)

thank you again for the great review, you made my day!

I thought this was finished .. and Brian was happy and in love with someone other than Justin! But there's going to be more  .. Thank you. And please write it exactly as you see it, leave nothing out .. As long as there's hope we can take it :)

Author's Response:

I finally started to write the story ( happy face) but it´s going to take a long time because of my full life (a job and two kids) and because as I said, I.m not really bilingual so I have to check every five words literally for the right word...lol

And even if it will be a very long way for our boys to be together again, they will be, that I can promise...

:)

Comme Orhida dit, j'espère sincèrement que vous n'êtes pas très affecté par les fortes réponses à votre histoire. N'y permettez pas s'il vous plaît de vous décourager d'écrire mon ami à l'histoire complète ;)

Author's Response:

So nicely said, my friend...

:)

Et merci beaucoup pour votre encouragement!

As Carol says, can handle large amount of sadness,
just to know that they will be together.
I did not mean to upset you, with a previous message, but only
what's left are the stories that write all of you, my dear writers.

Thank you!

Orhida

Author's Response:

Don't worry, I'm not upset, just maybe a little surprised by the strong answers that this fic have received. I'm not used to it as I don't considered myself as a writer (1200 words just doesn't make it, really...)...

Thank you!

I love angst .. But the thought of Brian, or Justin, finding someone else and actually loving them more always makes me feel positively ill ..

Author's Response:

I can understand, really...

That's why there is more to this story even if a part of it is a Brian/ other story.

but right now, I'm not sure I am going to go there and to actually write it! I dońt know really.

but I thank you all to take the time to write a review

and thank you to all writers for their amazing stories.

:)

I'm sorry that you do not need, to Justin and Brian in the end
find each other again, because I also think that Brian
hard to be someone as fancy as Justin.
Brian does not change their opinions or feelings so easily, he
stubborn and closed, and I do not see how someone else could
reach his heart, when he is busy with a love for Justin.
More believe that after some time, to find a way to be together.

Orhida

Author's Response:

Hi Orhida,

as I say, it´s frightening to see how people feel about these characters... And I think that one of the thing that make the beauty of our world is the freedom of speech that everyonye can use...

so thanks for the review :)

okay, I definitly want more of this.  Great beginning.  Just a hint - do they get back together?

Author's Response:

Thank you!

and yes, there will be together at the end.

I thought it was kind of depressing to think that they will stay apart  and alone after the end of the show, especially Brian. I mean, even if we strongly want them to be together even if not in the same cities, i always ask myself what would happen if a situation like this would occur. ANd at first, I could imagine Justin having an other life, without Brian, while the older man couldn't and so would stay alone in Pittsburg.

but I find it cruel and in a way unrealistic. I mean I couldn't imagine Brian pinning for his ex for the rest of his life, alone, hurt, with nobody by his side, while Justin was making a name for himself. Even if like many of you I think they have a strongly bond forever, this story is a way to reconcile this facts with my thoughts.

I hope I'm clear and that you can understand what I' m writing !

thank you again for the great review

Hello Alois.  Thank you for the hugs from France and welcome to MW.  I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from this site.

I really appreciate you telling us the type of fics you write and I must admit I probably won't be joining you as Justin is my favourite character.  However, I did want to welcome you and wish you all the very best of fun.  There is a category called Brian/other that you might like to add to your fics.  That will allow like minded people to join you.

Cheers :)

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review and I will follow your advices...

Author's Response:

:)

thank you!

Reviewer: JAZZEPOET (Signed) · Date: June 16, 2014 02:13 AM · On: Chapter 1

Hmmm...I hope you don't take offense to what I'm about to say but, after ending things with Justin I can't see Brian loving or being in love with anyone else.

Your writing style is beautiful but I'm not sure I could get through such an angsty story, especially if it ends with our boys not being together.

Btw: welcome to Whispers my friend :)

Author's Response:

It´s kind of frightening to see how strongly people feel about these characters, but in a good way :)

there will be a Brian and Justin reunion eventually in the story. And yes, there will find their way to each other in the end.

But as I say, it´s more about people ability to love and the ordeals that life can put in our ways.

Well, for now, it´s all in my head so I will see if I write it or not. I can always write a Brian and Justin story only...;)

Thank you for the review!

Hello, Alois! Welcome to Midnight Whispers! I hope you don't mind, but before I validated your story I made some formatting changes to it, and some minor beta corrections to make it easier for the readers to follow.  I am certain one of our readers and/or writers will be happy to help you as a beta if you would like them to.

Intriguing beginning!  I like how both men are willing to let the other go to help make them happy and fulfill their dreams. I hope you will write more. Thanks again for becoming a member, and for posting on Whispers.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hello kim! And thank you for your corrections! I would really like to have a beta because it's hard for me to write in english.

And thank you again for your words of encouragement!
