I loved this story so much – I didn’t expect it to be that good. I’m very glad you watched QAF and joined the community, you already gave us so many amazing works. I loved ‘The Bet’ and ‘The face of God’ especially – and now this. I haven’t watched the movie, but the idea of story is very interesting. Each chapter as an hour of detention – wow! I loved how all boys didn’t know about everyone’s among them being gay, and how Ben actually came out during this. I haven’t expected the big bad teacher to be an ally!:) It was such a pleasant surprise!
I *loved* Brian and Justin’s interactions! How Brian was an asshole, and even a bigger one because he wanted to get Justin’s reaction and his attention. I always adored high school or college stories, and this one is my new addition to the Golden collection!:) It was exciting, touching in some places, sad, and funny. I loved and felt upset, but in the end everything worked out, and I’m so grateful for that! I love such endings.

Great ending. Not overly done with the sex, and you completed off each individuals story line nicely. I really wish this had been recognized with a blue ribbon as I think it deserves one. I'm glad that someone actually wrote a story including the physical Aunt Lulu. I wish you would have included even more. However, I do have one question: I'm guessing Brian is the criminal, but what was the crime??? That bothered me in the beginning you said criminal and I was trying to figure out who was who, so I would change the word to something else, because criminal doesn't fit.
Author's Response: Yes criminal is a bit too strong a word but it comes from the movie and I tried to keep Brian close to the Judd Nelson character. Perhaps thug or troublemaker would have been better.

I can hardly wait for more of this story. Every chapter brings back memories of QAF eps I haven't watched in months, and a movie I haven't seen in decades. It was surprizing how many things I remember when they are rehashed here. eg. "All the foof groups are represented", .
Hmmm. I actually like Michael in the Ally Sheedy role. It's true that Michael as we know him is not much like her character. But if Michael were the only openly gay boy is high school with no friends, his demeanor would probaly be very different.

Really enjoying this. If I had one wish though, it would be that Michael wasn't the Ally Sheedy role. She was just so bizarre in a way that Michael isn't. Okay, I'm not going to guess anymore as just when I think I know what happens it all changes. :D I'm glad Vic and Bob have set this all up as it has certainly achieved the desired effect. I like the reason behind it; helping Michael know he isn't the only gay person at the school. I'm also glad Brian realizes physical violence by a parent isn't the only type of torment a person can suffer. I can't wait to watch this unfold further.

I can't imagine Ben being afraid of being gay.
Michael was in heaven being alone with Ben. But I don't see why the counselor would send him to detention for being depressed unless it was to show him there are others just like him. Ben's explanation I didn't understand at all.Mr. Horner has a thing for Vic. Nice.

Reading this was a terrible idea. Not because it's an awful story and badly written, but because it's completely the opposite and has made me want to re-watch The Breakfast Club for the gazillionth time when I really should be writing an essay due monday.
Also, one of the things I really love about fics based on actual books/films etc is seeing the parallels between them and so far I am very impressed with how you've written it and I'm so looking forward to seeing how you write the rest of it. (Some people completely screw up the characters and make them unrecognisable, but you've managed to make each character true not only to The Breakfast Club, but also to QaF, so I applaud your writing ability to be able to do so.)

Author's Response: The movie has 5 characters and "types" which Em doesn't really fit. Also I needed Michael to be the only "out" character at the beginning and writing Em playing straight would be too OOC even for me.

I know it's early in this fic, but I must say I am loving the interaction between all the teens, it's very realistic. I was hoping Emmett would eventually appear, and then I read the character list and saw your banner, so it looks like Ted misses out on a pairing. Oh well, never mind, he doesn't have to be in every fic.
Please hurry back as we are hanging out for the reason behind the detention, yet I know you aren't going to tell us for a little while, right? :D

Hmmm...now this is interesting. They didn't figure out they were all gay until they had detention together? But it seems like Mr. Horner might have had a clue...I could be wrong though.

I'm reading on the site my friend :)...The only explanation I have is that having astigmatism in both eyes makes smaller fonts hard to read...either that or these 38 year old eyes of mine are just tired ;)

I really want to read this as The Breakfast Club is one of my favorite movies and I am interested to see how you have managed to spin it. The only trouble is, is that the font is too small to read even with my glasses...please put me out of my misery ;)

I really liked the Breakfast Club so this should be fun to read a QAF version. Having all the boys around the same age will be interesting. I can't wait for an update, and to find out exactly what they did.
