Ha, apologies for spamming your inbox with all these reviews, but I am finding so many of your earlier stories. I loved this so much. Protective Brian is one of my favourites.

Author's Response:

Believe me, I would never complaim about reviews ;-) It is wonderful to get feedback from a reader. Glad you liked this story. It was a bit of a departure for me, but I think it worked ;-) Thanks again for reading and for all your lovely reviews!

I enjoyed this. It was interesting. I never thought of Justin's reaction whether Jen ever got married to Tucker.

Author's Response:

I'm really glad you enjoyed this story. It was a little bit of a departure for me in terms of its mood, but it was an interesting foray into Justin and Brian's relationship. I always thought it was a bit hypocritical of Justin to criticize Jennifer over Tucker, as he and Brian are twelve years apart. I think part of it had to do with Justin not wanting to 'lose' his mother. Still, having had so many issues with his biological father, I can see Justin being upset over the idea of having a step-father who is not all that much older than him. Good thing he has Brian to provide some perspective ;-) Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review. I appreciate it very much.

Wow. So beautiful. No words.

Author's Response:

I'm really glad you liked this story. It was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm glad I took the risk. Thanks so much for reading, as always, and for your wonderful review :-)

This was wonderful! Perfect! I agree that Justin is just as impulsive but Brian's are more controlled where as Justin never realy thinks his through. He has done some amazingly dangerous things that have had some bad consequences. I can totally picture this whole screne, it was so spot on!

Thank you fro sharing this brillant piece!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed this story. It was a little bit of a departure for me in terms of a plot bunny, but I really liked the way it brought out the conversation of Brian vs. Justin's impulsive behaviors. I think Brian is aware that he brought Justin into his world without all of the time and learning experiences he himself had. Justin does have something of an impulsive streak as well, which is not all the uncommon in someone who is as precocious as he is. I'm really glad you seem to agree with the ideas presented in this fic. Thanks so much for reading and for the feedback - I appreciate it very much :-)

I know I reviewed this elsewhere but I just wanted to that that was the best spanking scene of the two I have read. Maybe because it was hot without trying to be.

I would love more of this or a sequel.

Sandra:)

Author's Response:

Thanks Sandra *hugs* Your other comments were lovely, and I always appreciate hearing from you :-) I guess it's not so strange that most people latched onto the spanking part of this fic, even though it wasn't the main point of the story. I've heard from a few people who were surprised that it wasn't an erotic spanking, which is what normally turns up in B/J fics. For some reason, it felt 'right' for this story, as a way for Brian and Justin to be intimate, but not in a sexy or warm and fuzzy way. Tough love is often far harder to accept than romantic love.

If I were to write a 'sequel', it would actually be a prequel - I would love to write the gapfiller when Justin comes back from confronting Chris Hobbs in his pink posse days (and nearly scaring Brian and Daphne to death in the process). Maybe I'll think about it ;-)

Thanks so much for reading once again, and for all your lovely comments and reviews. They mean so much :-)

Wow this was intense! It´s interesting to think about how Justin learnt all the pain management methods from Brian and Brian can´t do much because it´s his methods. How can be Justin hurt by his family again. Very good fic!

Author's Response:

Thanks Sisa! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this story :-) It's interesting what you say about Justin learning his pain management skills from Brian. I think I would agree to some degree, although I might also suggest that sometimes Justin is just trying to emulate Brian, rather than being true to his own emotions. I also think that Justin is much more emotionally sensitive than Brian, which is in part because he's younger - but he does seem to react to things that upset him more outwardly than Brian. As for Justin's family, I personally think that Jennifer was always on Justin's side - she was always supportive and always there for him. The reason Justin is upset here is because Tucker is taking away the status of 'man of the family', which he'd have had since his father left. I think he'd come around to seeing the situation from Brian's point of view in the end, but I can see him as being initially upset.

Thanks so much for reading, and for your wonderful review. I appreciate it so much :-)

Hi, my friend; I think I already responded to this on LJ, but I wanted to tell you how much I love your style of writing; you have such a beautiful way of expressing the boys' inner emotions in your stories, and I love all the introspection.  And you're always so IC with both of them and do such a great job of explaining their actions.  Well done!

P.S.  I hope we can see a new humorous piece from you in the future; I adore those especially; the one with Brian and the squirrels still cracks me up!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hey Kim! Thank you so much for another lovely comment - you spoil me with your thoughtful comments :-) I'm very glad that you enjoyed this story the second time around, and that you thought it was ICC. This is the first time I've written from Justin's POV in years, and so it was a bit of an interesting exercise. I think the immediate aftermath of Sap's Party and, in particular, aftermath of the Pink Posse are the two gapfillers that I would have most loved to see. For me, those stories in canon almost seemed unfinished. The confrontations between Brian and Justin could have given up a lot of insight into their characters.

Thank you so much for reading, once again, and for your wonderful review *hugs* The holidays are a good time for my humorous muse, so we'll see :-D The problem with this time of year (exam period + holiday craziness) is always just finding time...

very insightful look at some of the boys' deeper layers - great job!

Charle

Author's Response:

Thanks Charle :-) I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this story! Part of my aim in writing this was to address some gapfllers that have always bothered me - namely what would have happened if and when Brian found out about Saps party, and what happened when Justin saw Brian after the altercation with Chris Hobbs during his Pink Posse days. I've always thought that these kinds of confrontations between Brian and Justin would lent a lot of depth to their characters.

Thanks so much for reading and for your lovely comment. It means a lot and I appreciate it so much :-)

I really wish a certain person who has never written fiction to my knowledge, would stop giving low ratings. You know who you are. We encourage our writers here.

I loved this. A little talking, a little fighting and fucking with just a touch of dom/sub thrown in to balance it all out......perfect :)

Nice work JP

Author's Response:

Thanks JP :-) I'm really glad you enjoyed this story. It's a little bit of a departure from what I'm used to writing, but it's always interesting to try something a little different and see where the characters take you... Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review. I appreciate it so much :-)

I really liked your story, very well written. I love it when Brian and Justin talk.

Thank you.

Author's Response:

I'm so thrilled you enjoyed it! I think Brian and Justin just talking is sometimes underrated - as Brian points out here, non-verbal communication can them pretty far, but sometimes it's not enough to get them the whole way... Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review. It means a lot :-)

Loved it!!!! nicely written!!! Justin is such a drama princess!!!

Author's Response:

Thanks Andromeda! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this story :-) Although Justin is usually very calm and collected, I think he does have the propensity to be a huge drama princess - more than Brian does, I'd say., Good thing Brian has him so well figured out... Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review!

Nicely done. I agree Justin is younger and still acts impulsively sometimes. It was nice to see them talking about feelings not just fucking or fighting.

Author's Response:

Thanks :-) I think you're right about Justin, too. He was younger, and I think part of his impulsiveness and naivety came from the fact that he was trying to be like Brian and live in Brian's world, but without Brian's experience or self-confidence. Of course we never get to see Brian at seventeen, so there's no saying whether he had to also learn the lessons Justin did. However, I also think there is a part of Justin's personality that is innately impulsive - I mean, even before he met Brian, he was wandering down Liberty Avenue looking to lose his virginity. I might put that into the 'stupid impulsive' category...

This story, I think, represents a point in Brian and Justin's relationship where they don't avoid talking about feelings and emotions by fucking or fighting. It's a big step for them, as feelings and emotions can be difficult, uncomfortable topics...

Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review. It means a lot :-)

I read this again,i loved it alot. I really loved

“It’s seventy-five degrees, like it always is. You’re freezing because you were out without a hat or gloves on the coldest night of the year. Ever heard of hypothermia?”

“Ever heard of ‘shut the f-fuck up?’” I shot back. and also “So,” he said, giving my shoulders a heartening, restorative squeeze. “Should we get your mother golden gardenias or a water buffalo?”

Brilliant ~ Yvonne xx

Author's Response:

Thanks Yvonne *hugs* I'm really glad you enjoyed this story again ;-) And of course, I couldn't let a story slide by without some kind of zoological reference... Thanks so much for reading, once again, and for your wonderful review. It means a lot :-)

Co-dependency + Shades of Grey = B/J love... I love it so!  I've always loved the dom/sub slight power balance in the B/J relationship, which you've nicely shown at its best.  Very enjoyable.

All the best!

Laura

Author's Response:

Thanks Laura :-) I'm really glad you enjoyed this! From my point of view, this story was certainly about co-depedenty, but it was not intended to demonstrate a BDSM relationship. Brian did only spank Justin three times to tell him to 'smarten up', as opposed to Justin welcoming and accepting the pain from Brian. That said, I think the spanking scene does indicate the intimacy of their relationship, with Brian knowing he could spank Justin wholly understand and accept the reason why without feeling humiliated or resentful.

In any case, I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for reading and for your review :-)
