So moving! Michael was never my favorite. Not many can play victim as well as he can. It was so nice seeing Brian confront Michael how he did.
Yet another great story! The way you had Debbie pass away on her own was beautiful in that the boys wouldn't have to have that over their heads. She was waiting for them to come to a place of peace. Well, at least I felt Brian was able to reach that before she died.
Author's Response: Some friendships do run their course and Brian could see his and Michael's had before the night of Babylon's reopening. Their friendship probably would have gone on slowly fading out instead of splitting the family in two, if only Michael had not opened his big mouth again.
Writing Carl was a joy for this fic as to me he became more human. I think Debbie and Carl were a good fit. It would be an almost impossible decision to turn off someone's life support. Even the 'do not resuscitate ' sign would be difficult to deal with. So I'm pleased you didn't mind Debbie passing away as she did.

I'm glad Brian told Michael that he was the problem. That always drove me crazy in the series. Brian would let him get away with so much.
Author's Response: Yeah, I agree. It annoyed me in the series too. I was happy to write Brian moving on so easily without Michael in his life and then not really feeling the need to regain their friendship as it once was. I must say Carl is the character I enjoyed writing most in this fic. I loved making him a little more human after Debbie's influence.

Sad, but good! I like how well written it is and how you covered their lives in such a short story. It is like a good shortened version of a Season 6.

Very angsty but very good. You were able to write a whole story around what Michael said at the muncher's party.

This was so wonderful. I'm not fond of seeing anyone die and reading the description I as thinking it was Brian and Justin that needed reuniting but it was Michael and Brian. I like the way you had Deb looking over her boys and seeing the world right, letting o.
Author's Response: I'm not fond of seeing anyone die. I agree with you as most people would; it is very hard to get people to read a major or minor character death as we connect to these characters and it is very sad. I deliberately write the description so I don't give away too much as I believe one-off fics need to be a little tantalising. I hope you weren’t disappointed that I was referring to the boys she raised and not Brian and Justin. Thank you for reading this and taking the time to leave such a lovely review it is very much appreciated.

It never fails to amaze me how Michael always feels he's the one wronged in spite of evidence to the contrary. Why is Ben still with him? Kudos to Brian for doing what was best for him and I'm pretty sure Debbie would agree. I really feel for Carl, you wrote his feelings so well.
Author's Response: I’m so pleased you mentioned Carl’s feelings because I sense as Debbie had moved on with her life Carl would have been very important to her. I also believed she would have admired Brian for putting Justin first before anyone else in the family. Thank you for your well thought out review.

Author's Response: Michael isn’t my favourite character but I couldn’t bring myself to write anything worse than what he said at Mel and Lindsay’s party so I left it up to the imagination. Thank you Vonnie for saying my story is incredible as that is truly gratifying.
