This made me smile from start to finish. Tricky is one of my favorites and I hope we do see more of him. I teared up at Gus's present to his dad and Justin. I wished they lived closer. Such a beautiful chapter x

A fun light-hearted read. I really enjoyed it, thank you!

Another incredible chapter. The playful banter between the boys makes me giggle. Mel she is making me want to jump in a boot her out lol.

Fabulous work x

Tricky really is in my heart now forever. He really loves Brian doesn't he lol. Brian and Mel sparing again, that Mel needs a pie in the face or something lol

Brian was so cute reading the story to his son, you put a lump in my throat. Tricky lol 😂 I just about cracked up when he did what he did to Brian 😂😂. As for Mel, grrr she is a grumpy child in an adults body.

Excellent work x

I was so sure I had read and reviewed this already but I'm thrilled to read again. I loved watching the two of them together riding in the back of the taxi and holding hands melted me. Then Gus omg I love him then mix in a puppy and I'm love. I think that pup will try everything to win Brian's heart lol.

 Brilliant work x

Really enjoyed this first story of the Tricky Universe series.  Got to love any story that portrays a realistic way in which our boys continue their relationship and I love anything that shows Brian's caring side in his undisguised love for Gus:-)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! I, too, really like including interaction between Brian and Gus in my stories. I always loved how tender Brian was with his son, despite his initial affirmation that he would remain only a 'sperm donor.' We all know it did not turn out that way, and I'm glad it didn't. Thank you for reading this story, and for the comments! *Hugs* ~Kim

Thank you so much! So glad that you liked it, along with the second "Tricky" Story.  BTW, there are two more stories involving Tricky if you are interested and haven't read them:  "Fit to Be Dyed," and "The Dog Days of Summer."  I hope you will enjoy those if you get a chance. Love this story.  You always do such a great job with Gus in your stories.  Nice to reread this favorite.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Bill!  I really appreciate that.  I do enjoy writing Gus into a lot of stories, since it always touched me how Brian reacted so lovingly to him, despite his own horrid experiences with his own father.  Thank you for reading and for your kind comments.  BTW, noticed you might be having an issue with responding to comments on your story.  If you want me to edit them, I can. Just send me a PM.  Good luck on your own story, and welcome again to the site!  Let me know if I can be of any help to you, and I will work on a banner in the meantime. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc! Thank you for the good wishes.  I'm happy that you enjoyed Tricky.  I will be most likely writing at least one more story with him, since I still have a wedding - not to mention Tricky's offspring - to deal with. I've actually started on it a little, but it will be a while before I can start writing it in earnest. Thanks again, my friend. You're the best, too.;) *Hugs*  Kim

Brian and Mel's worst nightmare.  LOL  I love Brian's quick wit and all the double entendres; add Tricky into the mix; hilarious.  Thanks for the entertainment.  Congratulations on the blue ribbon and being Feature Story for November.

Cheers

Author's Response:

Hi, Flossee! Thank you for reading and for your comments.;)  I'm glad that you enjoyed the interaction between Brian and his 'nemesis.'  The poor man is going to be tormented yet again at some point; it's just a matter of finding the time to write it! Hope your surgery went well. Thanks again.  ~Kim

It appears that they couldn't wait until they got to their room.  At least they got it settled that Justin will be coming home so they can go to sleep and wake up together.  Have you notice that Gus is always happy to be with his dad, unlike Brian who always looked for ways to be somewheres else.  Goes to show he's a much better father then his own was.  Now I'm off to read more Tricky Tales.  Have you ever thought to add Tricky as a character?

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  LOL!  I never thought about adding him!  I guess unless someone else wanted to write about him it probably wouldn't matter. But I'm glad you like him so well.;)  And yes, it always amazed me how differently Brian treated his son and the tender expression  on his face when he look at him compared to the way that Jack treated HIM.  I always thought that one scene where Brian was agonizing over whether or not he would be a good father to Gus was so touching.  Thank you for all the comments and for reading this!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: November 05, 2013 07:04 AM · On: Yep! It's a Butterball

If Mel started treating Brian nicely I'd be worried.  Looks like Brian and Justin might be getting close to an agreement on something.  Do they get it resolved before or after they get to the hotel?

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  They WILL get it resolved, but near the end - after they get back to the hotel and have some much-needed alone time.  I do hope you continue to enjoy it. If you do, there's a Tricky Christmas story (Framed for Christmas), along with many more. I will also have a new Tricky story in the near future. Thanks for reading and for your comments!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

When you have something good going it writes itself and finding a stopping point is difficult.  Love how Brian is more willing to show how he feels toward a certain twat.  Brian will have to come around to Tricky eventually, after all, the dog and Justin do have a lot in common.

Author's Response:

LOL! Well, they can both roll over really well and beg for the right 'treat' - LOL!  So glad you're enjoying Tricky's tales.  Thank you for reading and for all the comments!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

He,he.  Sleeping on a narrow couch is challenging, though I think if Brian took the recliner, Justin could use him as a pillow.  Tricky sure has taken a liking or a licking to Brian, which I'm sure will delight Gus.

Ah, the first saga in the ever favorite Tricky Tales!  Brian always did attrack blondes, Lindsay, Cynthia, Justin and now Tricky.  He really is an old softy.

Hello, Kim!

How I love their stories with Trick. They are wonderful and very fun. I love to see Bian surrendering to love for Justin and Gus. I believe that Brian only shows how truly is before their two boys. And you can capture these moments in a perfect way like no one else can.

A big hug, sweetie!

I've read this story several times and loved it more and more. Tricky seems to be a doggy Brian, I've read your other stories with Gus and Tricky and each story just gets better, we all know regardless of what Brian says he's really a softy.

Author's Response:

Hello, there! Thank you for the comments and for reading this story, along with the other Tricky stories. I agree - I think Brian grumbles a lot about things, but when it comes to his two 'boys,' he IS a big softly underneath.  So glad that you enjoyed them!  I still want to write another one in this 'verse about their wedding - and another 'addition' to the family (wink, wink).  I hope to start on that in the near future. Thank you again for taking the time to comment on this story; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hi!

I loved the story, especially Brian's interaction with Tricky. :)

Thank you!!!

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and for the feedback, Sasha!  I'm so glad you liked the story.:)  I actually had some of the same experiences with another dog - at least the eating at night part.  I was staying in D.C. at my friend's brother's place and he had a dog who decided to eat in the middle of the night just like Tricky.  Then we heard a cat fight going on outside right after that.  You had to laugh at that point, because it was all so ridiculous!  I really wanted to include the cat fight in the story, too, but I couldn't find a good way to do it.  Maybe in a Christmas sequel?  I'm going to try and include Tricky somewhere in another story if I can - I really like that guy - LOL!  Thanks again for reading and taking the time to comment, Sasha - that is so motivating to me!:)~Kimberly

Oops!  Meant to add -- great job on keeping B&J in the spotlight, even while giving such great attention to Gus and Tricky.

An excellent bit of literary balancing, indeed! :-)

Author's Response:

Thank you again.:)  I do like to include a younger Gus, especially, in my stories, although I am currently featuring a teenage version in "Hunka, Hunka Burnin' Love."  I'm actually enjoying the grown-up version, too.:)  Thanks again for all the feedback - that means so much to me!:)

I've been away from the site for awhile, and this was a wonderful story to come back to!

Unfortunately (for you ;-)  ), I now see an entire 'Tricky' universe, played out in a series of your long-ish 'short' stories.

My fave men, Gus, and an awesome pooch.  Can't wait!

(Put down that coffee and get back to the keyboard!)

Author's Response:

LOL!  How did you know I was such a big coffee driinker?  Ha!  I'm so glad you're back and that you chose to read my "Tales of Tricky."  I've become quite fond of this pooch, so I may just have to take your suggestion and create some more tales with him.  If nothing else, I think I can definitely include him somewhere in my upcoming Christmas tale.  I'm going to try, anyway.:)

Welcome back and thanks so much for your kind words, my friend!  I'm so pleased that you liked it.:)~Kimberly

Author's Response:

Aww..thanks, Yvee!  It's nice to have a fluffy piece at times, especially with the angst going on in my other stories.:)  I'm so glad you liked Tricky - I will work hard to give him an encore performance sometime soon.:)  Thanks for all your support, my friend.:)

Thank you for such a heartwarming, well written story.  Once again Tricky just seemed so real and such a good dog!  I am thrilled Justin thought of “if they drive down, Tricky could come too.”

Gus’ gift was so cute and sweet.  It was wonderful to hear him say “my other Daddy Jus’n.”  Leave it to our boys to have quick elevator-sex (shakes head with a smile); the taxi driver missed a show, heheh!  I loved that Justin brought the wishbone and they are going to make the wish happen!!

Author's Response:

Thank you, Kim!  I so glad you liked it!:)  I still see Justin as being the sentimental, romantic type; hence the wishbone.  I thought that might be a cute way of him trying to tell Brian how he felt, but Brian beat him to the punch - LOL!  I would love to write Tricky into the Christmas story I'm working on; I'm really going to try and do that if I can, but the story I'm thinking of will take place in New York initially and then perhaps move back to Britin.  Thanks again for all your support of my stories, Kim; hope you had a great Thanksgiving!:)

This is such a wonderful little story and I would love to see Tricky again. I think we will rename our dog Tequila to Tricky - they're just the same in their habits and attitude except for to coat color. The öetter from Gus is heartwrenching - I had tears in my eyes. You did a fantastic job again, thank you!

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  Thanks so much for reading this!  LOL!  I think the name of your dog is great, too.:)  I have some other ideas on how Tricky can continue to torment Brian, so hopefully he will make another appearance soon.:)  I'm dogsitting my neighbor's black lab mix this weekend, and he's giving me some other ideas.  For instance, why is it so appealing for dogs to hone in on something that is dead and promptly roll in it??  I never HAVE figured that out (BTW - he hasn't done that with me, thank goodness, but he made me think about when my own dogs did that!).  And why do male dogs always have to pee on every tree between the house and where you walk them?  LOL!  Thanks again for reading and commenting, my friend.  That means a lot to me.:P)  I am now moving onto the Elvis story.:)

Finally time to review.

I was reading this wonderful, HOT, funny, heartwarming (love Gus poem) chapter and helping my daughters with their surprises for "Sinterklaas" .

Don't think you know about Sinterklaas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas It's a kind of santa claus, but he's here for three weeks bringing little (and big) gifts and "pepernoten". When the children don't believe in Sinterklaas anymore they become creative in making surprises for other children in their class.

made by Jadzia (zwarte piet on chimney)

made by Belana (elephant)

Hope to see more of Tricky, I love that dog. And I was a bit sad for not seeing the iceskating part.

* big hug *

Oh my * giggles * hope the pictures are not too big * blushes * I'm gonna hit "submit" now * shutting my eyes *

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie!  I was able to see them just fine after pasting them in the browser.:)  Thanks for sending them to me.  VERY cute!!  I especially like the elephant.  And thanks for the link about Sinterklaas.  I like that tradition.:)  Someone else said they wanted to see the iceskating part and suggested taking Tricky.  I wish I had thought of that and I would have done it, but I told the other reader that maybe I could find a way for them to go iceskating at Britin instead in a Christmas story.:)

BTW - You sound like you have a very good relationship with your daughters, Marny, that's great!  I wish I had had kids; I suppose that's why I always spoil my nieces and nephews.:)  Thanks for reading and for your comments, my friend.  You are so good about that with my stories and I appreciate that so much.  *Big* hug to you.:)

Reviewer: Kym (Anonymous) · Date: November 26, 2011 05:10 AM · On: Make A Wish

I loved this story so much.  I read in your review responses you are writing a Christmas story with "maybe" Tricky.  That will be sweet.  Brian is going to wind up loving that dog.  Can't wait for that story.  I wanted to get this review in before now but have been really busy--more paperwork.  How many trees do we have to kill--really.  I hope you had a nice turkey day with your family.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  You're so great about reviewing my stories - thank you so much, my friend!  I'm so glad you liked Tricky's tales - ha!  I think Tricky IS starting to grow on him, so I will work hard for him to make a return appearance in the Christmas story.  I'm dogsitting my neighbor's black lab mix this weekend, so maybe he'll give me some inspirations.:)  Had a nice Thanksgiving with the extended family, but ate way too much!!  I'm hoping to go to Cologne next June, so maybe that will give me the incentive I need to lose some of the pounds I gained beforehand - ha!  Hope you had a great holiday, too.  Thanks for taking the time to read and especially leave a comment, Kym.  I am very appreciative.:)  I am now moving onto Justin and Rob's teenage crush in the Elvis story.  Take care - *hugs*.

"He had to continually divert his attention from the road ahead back to his passengers as he observed the other man slowly slinking his way over toward the blond’s part of the seat."

The episodes in the cab and then in the elevator were hilarious and hot at the same time.

I liked the scene with Gus and his award winning poem. It was perfect.

I was surprised the wishbone was used to make a wish. I thought it was going to involve Tricky in some way. LOL

I happy that the wish kept the two of them from continuing their long distance realtionship. It was a perfect ending.

Thank you for the story! :)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your kind comments, my friend!  Probably wouldn't want to risk having Tricky choke on the wishbone - LOL!  Besides, I think Justin got a lot more use out of it, even though Brian DID cheat.:)  I'm so glad you enjoyed the story, and our canine character may make another appearance in an upcoming story.  Thanks for reading.:)

I'm far from America this year.  I saved this story to read on Thanksgiving.  I knew I was going to enjoy it for many reasons and of course it was even better than I could have imagined.  I am a world class dog lover so Tricky was a great addition to the family.  I love your way of telling a story.  You know how to develop a plot and move it along in a well paced manner.  Thanks so much for making my Thanksgiving Holiday!

Author's Response:

Aww....thank you, Lori, you're very kind.:)  I'm so glad you liked it.:)  I love labs - in fact, I will be dogsittng one for my neighbor this weekend while they're away; they're such sweet dogs.:)  I can't tell you how much your kind words about my writing mean to me.  That is pretty much the only reason why I write them, to know that others are enjoying them, so I appreciate that so much.  I'm going to try and include Tricky again at some point; for now, I'm moving onto Justin and his dilemma involving a certain teenager's crush on him.:)  Thanks again, dear friend, for reading.:)

Hold it right there!!! Where is the skating???  I wanted Brian falling down and Tricky rescueing him from all the other skaters.  A three person and one dog pile up!!!!

You have a plan for Brian and Justin to not be seperated so much and I want to read it.    More Gus, more Tricky, and much more Brian & Justin....together.

Author's Response:

LOL!  I wish I had thought about Tricky being included in the ice skating, because I might have been tempted to extend it just a little.:)  Great idea!  If you don't mind, maybe I'll try and include that in the Christmas story - maybe some ice skating on the lake at Britin?  I like it!!  Thanks for the idea.:)  I am definitely planning on writing a Christmas story that may involve our little troublemaking pooch, but it will start in NYC first.  Thank you for reading the first part of Tricky's adventures and for your comments - that is so motivating to me!  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving - I know the boys did - ha!:)

I knew you couldn't stop with just two chapters and such a nice long one we have here.  I know Brian has many fans, except for Mel, but I think Tricky is at the top of that list.  Brian is obviously smitten and trying to hide it.  Now if he and Justin would just get there act together.

what a sweet story this was.  cried again, guess it's because it's the holidays starting.  I get a bit maudlin at this time of year.  love these boys so much and love stories at this time of year.  seems i remember reading a while ago a christmas story by our gracious writer.  maybe another this year???  just hoping.  going to eat with my friends, families and the peeps.  things are a bit slower this week during thanksgiving, so we have a couple days off.  that's something to be thankful for as we are all a bit drained.  i hope you have a great day!!  lol

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, dear friend.:)  I hope you and your friends and family have a great day, too.  Say hello to all the peeps who have been so supportive of me over the past year - that means so much to me!  And yes!  I am definitely planning on writing a Christmas story - if it works out the way I think it does, it will be a 'jealous Brian' story - I love to torment that poor man - ha!  And if I can swing it, I think Tricky may be making a guest appearance.:)  And now I am onto the saga of poor Justin's dilemma with Rob and his crush in "Hunka, Hunka Burnin' Love."  Thanks again for reading so many of my stories, lindc!  Have a great day!:)

Reviewer: nosleep (Anonymous) · Date: November 24, 2011 11:17 AM · On: Yep! It's a Butterball

"As the two men playfully fed each other, Mel looked over at them in astonishment; it was like that other time at dinner several years ago after Justin had been reinstated to PIFA and the two had acted like newlyweds, kissing each other and helping to gather the dinner dishes together at Debbie’s house.  It was amazing to see them still acting that way after so many years."

This was a very enjoyable chapter. I love seeing the boys interacting so lovingly together. It's a wonderful story for the holiday. I'm just wondering about that wishbone, though.

Thanks for your comments.:)  I'm delighted you're enjoying the story.  I'm about to post the final chapter shortly (yes, I have finally reached that point believe it or not - ha!)  The wishbone you mentioned will be making an 'unscheduled guest appearance' at the end of the chapter.  Hope you will enjoy it!  Thanks for your kind words and hope you have a great Thanksgiving!:)

Tricky's antics are so fun, makes me wish I had a dog!  Glad there is hope for a Christmas all together too.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kim!  Thanks for reading, my friend!  I'll try hard to figure out a way to bring Tricky back for an encore.:)  I'm working on the next (last?) installment of this Thanksgiving story; I hope to have it posted sometime either later today or tomorrow.:)  Thank you for leaving me your thoughts; I'm so pleased you're enjoying it.:)

I'm too tired to say more than .. it's such a sweet story.

You're sure, only the sequel and not more! ... LOL ... sorry.

* hugs *

Author's Response:

Aww...Hi, Sweetie!  *hugs* back to you (hopefully you're still awake but maybe you're dreaming in your sleep right now like Tricky does - lol!).  I think they're will be one more chapter - I'm working on it now.  But if it's any consolation at all, Tricky may make a 'guest appearance' in my Christmas fic if I can work him in.  I'm trying for a plot with a jealous Brian in it - I love those kinds of stories! Hopefully I can arrange for a little 'private time,' though, between Brian and Tricky before it's over - ha!

So great to hear from you, my friend.:)  Take care and sweet dreams.:)

Such a cute chapter we loved it a bear in the loft--indeed ha ha!!  don't over eat on Thanksgiving ha ha!!  I think we all will--my diet will go out the window for that day.  I have lost 15 pounds hope i don't gain too much back.. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend.:)  Congrats on your weight loss!  I think I found it - LOL!  I couldn't help the ' bear' part - I thought it was rather funny if I do say so myself.:)  My mother always makes way too much food so it's hard not to overindulge, unfortunately; she's already baked three pies for Thursday!  I am working on the next chapter of this now so I can hopefully get it done by Thursday.

I hope you and all the peeps have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my friend; Lee tells me you're all going out to eat together - you are such a special friend to him. Tell everyone thanks for reading this latest chapter and all my other stories - I am thankful for that all the time, not just at this time of year.:)

Adorable dog in this story and the banter with Brian is priceless. And only five chapters will be perfect for such a story.

Author's Response:

Hi, Bob!  So glad you like Tricky - he is a persistent little (uh, big) fellow, isn't he?  Thanks for leaving your thoughts and for reading - I really AM trying to write just one more chapter, honest, but why does that not sound like I'm sure?  LOL!  Hope you have a great Thanksgiving, BTW - I'm going to try and finish this one by then.:)  Thanks again.:)

I like the light hearted humor and the dog is adorable can't wait to read how they spent the rest of the day. Always pleasure to read your stories !

Author's Response:

Aww...thank you, Kim, that means a lot to me, my friend!  I'm enjoying writing about Tricky - I've been using my former labs as well as one I dog sit for as models.:)  I almost have the next (last?) chapter written - I was really hoping to finish this by Thanksgiving, but I'm not sure now.  We'll have to see. I should definitely have the next chapter posted soon, though.  Thanks so much for all the support - I'm glad you like it.  I can assure you that Tricky is not done yet 'bonding' with the alpha male in the house - ha!  Hope you have a great Thanksgiving, BTW!~Kimberly

Of course Tricky would love Brian!! Who wouldn't? :) I adore labs, and when I can get a bigger house with a yard, I want one!

Author's Response:

Hi, Megan Rose!  Always so nice to hear your thoughts, my friend.:)  I've had two lab mixes and dog sit for a third, so I know how sweet they are.:)  I'm glad you're reading this one - I should have it updated/finished soon - want to do that before the holiday (Yikes!  Can't believe it's only a week away!).  Thank you for reading and especially taking the time to comment.:)  I am very grateful.:)

Reviewer: Armandyouidiot (Signed) · Date: November 16, 2011 10:56 AM · On: So You Want to Play with my Ball?

That cracked me up when Tricky’s “version of raiding the refrigerator” woke Brian (been there, done that; man can they crunch!) and when he just got another ball instead of going in the basement. HA!  At least getting stuck back in with Gus wouldn’t be a hardship for him.  :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Kim!  Thanks for reading, my friend!  A friend of mine and I stayed at her brother's place in D.C. several years ago and I can recall that happening to us as well, although we had to sleep on the floor, so it could have been worse for Brian - Tricky would have had a much better 'target' to lick - ha!  We also had to endure a cat fight outside the window that night, too - after that you pretty much just had to laugh about the whole thing.  I really wanted to include that in my story, too, but just couldn't figure out a way to do it.  Maybe next time.:)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing - I'm very appreciative.  I should get this story updated soon  - I really want to finish it before Thanksgiving.:)

I love the trouble you have with your chapter count!

Author's Response:

LOL!  Thanks - you're very sweet; I'm delighted that you want more.  Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying it.:)  Who knows?  If I have the boys go back to the hotel room, I think just the reunion sex could warrant another chapter - ha!  I'll see what I can do; in the meantime, Brian and Tricky's burgeoning relationship isn't done yet.:)  Thanks for reading!:)

Hi, Marny! So do you want to come out and play, too?  LOL!  I'm really enjoying the interaction between Brian and his new blond admirer.:)  I need to write the sweet, fluffy ones from time to time to counteract some of my more serious ones.  Thanks so much for reading, my dear.  *Hugs* back to you, too.:)  Hope you have a good week.:)

Loved the dog with a purpose to harass and the banter between everyone.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Bob!  Glad you're reading this one.  Certainly a departure from what I've BEEN writing lately, isn't it?  LOL!  I'll probably have one more chapter and then (FINALLY) end it (yeah, I know, you've heard that before - ha!).  Thanks for the feedback, my friend.:)

wow wow wow what a chapter-love in a recliner.  wouldn't believed that to be comfy, but what the hey.  it makes for good reading.    glad i found this before i catch some sleep. lol  phk next??

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend!  Hopefully it was one of those larger lazy boys to 'accommodate' OUR boys (wink, wink...).  I couldn't resist one more chapter in Tricky's tales since I had already started on it anyway.  I do want to finish this one up in fairly short order, especially with Thanksgiving coming up next week (yikes!).

And yes, "Paper Hearts Killer" is up next to update - I've started on it but it will be a few days yet, it looks like.  That one may take a while to finish up - I still have Carruthers to take care of and I don't think he's going to go quietly at all.  Thanks so much for all the support, lindc.  Hope you and the peeps have a great week, my friend.:)

Justin and Tricky seem to have a LOT in common.  Looking forward to the next chapter and who knows, there is always the Christmas visit to add another bit of spice.

Author's Response:

Hi, Dear!  LOL!  Yes, I normally wouldn't compare Justin to a dog - I don't think he really appreciates that, either, but there ARE some similarities - ha!  I may just take you up on that idea about Christmas since I love Tricky's character!  I like it - thanks!  I was wondering what to write for Christmas, so that may just be a good idea.  At the very least I may be able to include Tricky in the activities.:)

Thanks for reading and for the feedback, my friend; I will be updating/finishing this story very soon.:)~Kimberly

This is such a cute story! I'm already hating that you'll end it soon.....

Author's Response:

Aww.....What a nice thing to say; thank you so much!  I really shouldn't have started another WIP, but at the time I thought, it'll only be a chapter or two....ha!  I will definitely have at least one more chapter and if I wind up taking them back to the hotel afterward, I COULD have my arm twisted to perhaps write one more chapter......( I don't think you would have to twist it too much, though....LOL!).  Thanks again for reading and especially for taking the time to leave me feedback.  That means more to me than you know.  I promise to update this very soon.:)

This was sweet and fun to read. The characterization of Tricky was perfect for such a "person".

Author's Response:

Thanks, Bob!  Yeah, not much drama here but Tricky is on a quest; he's one curious pooch and Brian is an irresistible target - ha!  Thanks for reading this one, my friend.  I will get it updated/finished very soon.:)

Brian was sweet with Gus (even if he did shorten the bedtime story, hehe)  I wondered who was going to land on the floor with that sleeping arrangement, sorry Jus!  This is so cute!

“Better look again, Stud; that’s not me”  LOL

Author's Response:

Hi, Kim!  Love the user name, BTW - not sure how you wound up with it, but I like it!!  Thanks for readng and commenting; all your support is very appreciated.:)  Yeah, not the most optimal sleeping arrangement for our boys, but at least they made the best of it for the time being.:)  And at least Justin has more 'cushioning' on his derriere than Brian - ha!  I couldn't resist Tricky coming  back for more; and I suspect he's not quite done with his goal to prevent the boys from getting a good night's sleep (wink, wink...).

Thanks again for reading and reviewing, Kim!  I will get this updated/finished very shortly.  I have the final part started but I need to finish the next chapter of "My Heart's Desire" first.  Thanks so much for your support.:)~Kimberly

Author's Response:

Hi jm c!  Thanks for the comment, my friend!  I do enjoy writing a humorous, 'fluff' story from time to time; I'm not sure why mine tend to be so angst-filled all the time - LOL!  I'm so happy you're enjoying the story!  I'm a big dog lover, so it was probably a natural for me to focus on one for this holiday tale.:)  And as everyone suspected, I don't know when to quit, so there will be at least one more chapter to this dog-wagging story.:)  Tricky is not yet done on his nocturnal adventures, and he seems to have developed a definite fascination for our alpha male - ha!  I promise to get this updated/finished very soon.

For now, though, I feel the need to at least get "My Heart's Desire" updated first at risk of neglecting my other stories.  But rest assured I will finish the 'saga of Brian and Tricky' shortly - LOL!  Thanks again, my friend, for reading and especially commenting  - I am very honored.:)

Author's Response:

LOL!  Don't tempt me - ha!  Who knows?  By the time I finish with Tricky's nocturnal prowling and tormenting of his favorite new friend, I might just make it to four chapters.  It makes me very happy that you want them at any rate.:)  Your encouragement means more than you know.  Thank you for the comments!  I will see what I can do.  I still want the boys to spend Thanksgiving with Gus and the Munchers and also perhaps discuss their long-distance relationship to see if they can do something to amend that.:)  I promise to update this story soon.  Thanks again for taking the time to comment- that means so much to me.:)~Kimberly

Thank you, Alicia!  That Tricky is quite a character, isn't he?  Of course Brian and a dog does seem like an unlikely combination, but I'm hoping by the time I'm done they will have come to a mutual consensus.:)  Like Justin said, I think his bark is worse than his bite....Thanks so much for reading and for taking the time to comment, Alicia!  I will get this story updated soon.:)

Author's Response:

Hi, Diana! Thanks so much for your comments; speaking of animals, I feel that Brian's 'bark' is a lot worse than his bite - ha!  You're kind of on the right track, but I don't think it will be love at first sight just yet.  I think Tricky's going to actually grow on him a little, though.  As a side note, I actually had a great uncle who had a dog named Tricky - LOL!  I'm working on the next chapter right now - I hope to have it posted at least by tomorrow.  Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to leave me feedback. Charming story!  Gus is so cute with his Tricky.  Love the guys' choice between a race car twin bed or a too small couch, heheh

Author's Response:

Hi, Kim!  Thanks so much for your comments and for reading.:)  Obviously, this story isn't going to go down in the annals of history as a complex read - LOL! - but I needed to interject just a little fluff into all the angst I've been writing lately and I think I needed a little break before delving back into the dirty world of politics in "My Heart's Desire."

The smallish couch will play a role in the next part of the story (yes, there will be some obligatory man on man sex with boys, don't worry), but it will also play a different sort of role in the plot (and that's all I'm saying - don't want to spoil it - ha!).  Thanks again for reading, Kim, and for taking the time to comment - that means a lot to me.:  Anyone with a name such as yours I take quite seriously - ha!~Kimberly

Kim,

I LOVE this fic.  All of your fics are marvelous, but this particular one and it's soothing, loving storyline is just what the doctor ordered, so to speak.  I'm relishing all the warm, beautiful imagery, and thrilling over the boys love.

I probably sound like a sappy Pollyanna, but this is just so lovely and I'm craving this type of story.  I'm so glad that you're sharing this with us.

Looking forward to your next update.

Warm hugs and well wishes,

Laura

Author's Response:

Hi, Laura, my friend - what wonderful comments, dear, thank you so much!  I hope you are feeling better.  I will eventually get this posted on LJ, but RL is kind of getting in the way at the moment.  I"ll probably wait until it's done and then post it as a complete story then.  I'm so glad you're enjoying this one.  Tricky and Brian will continue to get 'acquainted' with each other in the next part to Brian's consternation - LOL!  But there will be plenty of other sappiness in there, too - can't help it around the holidays.:)

Love Brian, Justin and Gus stories!!!  1 part, 2 parts, long chapters...it's going to be great like all your stories.

Author's Response:

Aww...thank you, my friend; you're so sweet.:)  As I'm sure you know by now, I love to include Gus in a lot of my stories - there's just something in that boy that makes Brian warm and sappy, at least in my writing world - LOL!  On the show his face just transformed into someone totally different whenever he was around him that I always loved.  I will have some more 'warm and fuzzy' moments between father and son in the story.  I was GOING to say 'in the last chapter,' but at the rate I'm going as everyone is accusing me of I may very well wind up with an extra chapter - LOL!  And Tricky isn't done tormenting Brian just yet, either....(snicker, snicker...).

Thanks again for reading and especially leaving me feedback - I appreciate that so much!:)~Kimberly

Got up to go to work--thought I'd check here and my goodness what did I find.  This is so good.  I love Labs, have had two, unfortunately they are in doggie heaven now.  I miss them they were great friends.  Sorry, getting a bit weepy here.  I love this story.  I hope it's not too short as you said it was only a couple of chapters.  I like your long stories myself.

Author's Response:

Hi, Stacy!  Thanks for checking in, my friend!:)  I'm so glad you like the story.  I know exactly how you feel about labs; I've had two lab mixes before, and they were such wonderful dogs.  I don't have any kids, so they were just like my children and I still miss them terribly.  I dog sit a neighbor's black lab mix occasionally, though, and that helps a little.:)  It's kind of like having a grandchild I can play with for a while and then give back - LOL! One of these days I will get me another one; I adore dogs.:)

As far as the story goes, you probably know my M.O. by now - brevity is not in my dictionary!  I'm working on Chapter 2 right now but I'm not sure if I'll be able to end it at that or not.  I'll have to see how detailed and/or wordy I get.:)  Thank you so much for your kind words - I will get the next (last?) chapter posted very soon.:)~Kimberly

Well i hoped you would write holiday story-but never thought about Thanksgiving.  This so cute.  I like a bit of fluff now and then with a little sex in there somewhere.  I hope you succeed with only two chapters.  he he!  Love it!!

Author's Response:

Hi, Kym!  I think my reputation has preceded me - no one seems to think I really CAN stick to only one more chapter - ha!  I'm working on the next chapter now, and am up to around 3,000 words.  Considering that some of mine run 10,000+, I still have a chance of succeeding - LOL!  But perhaps everyone's right.:)  I'll have to see how much I can squeeze into Chapter 2 without it coming across as rushed.  And there's still Thanksgiving dinner the next day.:P)

BTW - I'm still planning on hopefully coming up with some sort of Christmas story; I just have to get the right inspiration.  This story is partly based on a trip I took with a friend to D.C.  Thanks so much for reading and commenting, my friend; I'm so pleased that you like it!  I hope you won't be offended if I don't take any bets on whether it winds up being two or three chapters, though - LOL!  Thanks again for all your support, Kym.:)

Wowww I really enjoyed this chapter. * giggles * lovely name for a dog "Tricky" .

BJ's "playing time" ... oops ... when will  that happen with a dog and a very happy son walking around.

Are you really sure you are going to write one more chapter!? I know you a little ... sorry but I don't think you can do that ... LOL.

Author's Response:

AAAGGGHHH!  (Slapping my head in frustration here...).  You are the third reviewer who has hinted that I can't show control when it comes to writing "short stories" - whatever would make you think that??? LOL!  I think you all know me much too well by now....!  Okay, so maybe it MIGHT be more than two chapters; it depends upon how far I take this.  I really did mean for it to only be two chapters - honest!  Ha!  Let's just say that Tricky may not wind up in his normal sleeping location tonight - there's just something about Brian that attracts blonds.....and brunets...and redheads....and bald-headed men.....well, you get the idea - ha!

Thanks for reading this one, my friend.:)  I'm working on the conclusion now (hopefully!) and hope to finish it up shortly so I can move back to "My Heart's Desire," which is up next for updating.  Hope all is well with you.  I'm sending you a *hug* for knowing me too well.:)

Hi, jc!  Thanks so much for reading and for your comment, my friend.  I appreciate it.  I have a special place in my heart for labs - I've had two lab mixes over the years and I dog sit for another and they're such sweet dogs.:)  I couldn't resist using one to torment Brian the fashion maven with, though - ha!  Thanks so much for taking the time to leave me feedback - I should have the rest of the story up shortly.~Kimberly

Had a break logged on and see what appeared.  This is so funny Brian and a dog.  What a hoot.  Cute story.  I bet it will be more than two chapters-if i know you. lol

Author's Response:

Et tu, lindc?  Bob just said the same thing in HIS review!  You're going to give me a complex here - ha!  Really - honest; I'm going to do my best to keep it at two chapters.  I COULD maybe see it go three (sigh...).  It just depends on how my brain works.  I've started on the next chapter because I really want to get this one done before I start back on my regular posting schedule.  Tell Lee I promise to get "MHD" updated next; I know that's his favorite.:)

Thanks as always for all your support, my friend; you are very special indeed.:)  Hope you and all the peeps have a good day today.:P

Looks like some stars are missing :)

Two chapters? (snicker)

Author's Response:

Hi, Bob!  Thanks for the kudos.:)  Are you trying to say that committing to only two chapters is going against my normal M.O. and it will wind up being much longer?  Now why would you think that would happen? LOL!  I'm going to try and stay within my stated parameters, but I am NOT making promises.:)  Thanks for checking in.  It's so good to see you back on the site on a regular basis again - I missed that!:)
