Interesting concept - I'm immortal, in love & have a great life, but parts of it are so bad I don't want to pass it on. I'm glad they talked Brian into it. (Another good cliffhanger - you do love them.)
Author's Response: I try not to leave a cliffie up very long; I do respect my readers very much. A little suspense adds to the story's enjoyment. Immortality has its drawbacks as Brian so well knows. But of course he didn't have a choice in his turning so he views it differently than someone who does.

I am glad Justin backed out of the deal... It makes no kind of sense for Angela at 17 to marry Daniel and conceive the child naturally only to turn around and give up the baby??? as I mentioned before there has be another way for Justin to adopt a baby without buying one....

(Well, now, a cuddle and beddy-byes My boyfriend and me just come back from a one week love in Sitges, near Barcelona. And I love Sitges, he knows that. A bike ride, beautiful beaches, beautiful boys, a lot of fun. So, I didn't hesitate one second between the vampires and the gay paradise. I left everything without feeling guilty. Sitges, it's Ibiza but on the continent. I'm completely in love with my man but it wiped me out...I'm too old or out of training... I don't know ;) )

It's a pleasant chapter. I have a soft spot for this kid. Not always easy to be a precocious child or even to have a precocious child. There is this constant gap which can become catastrophic if the child's environment doesn't provide the appropriate answers. Daniel seems ok. And studying medicine is difficult (I know, I dropped it). It's very theoretical in the early years. Once made the pace, he'll think to expand his knowledge ... in other areas.
So housegirl, houseboy (or both)?

Love the interaction between B/J. Justin is really determined on this. I'm not surprised Daniel was a little thrown by the idea. He made some valid points. I think deep down he wants the nuclear family. Maybe he and angela will become that family.

Author's Response: Thank you alys for your review. Boys come out (or not) when then want to. It doesn't matter if their parents are gay. Some guys are in their 20s or 30s before they admit it to themselves. Daniel is a big question mark and the first of Justin's kids to be like that. Right now all he's thinking about is his career and education. Justin worries about him being nonsexual and if it's healthy for him. It did make it easier to let him live alone in Atlanta however.

Author's Response: Thanks for commenting Annjeela. Justin is very much under Brian's and Dracula's control and vampires respect him but don't need to fear him. In fact he hasn't torched anyone for years until this abusive lover of Dakota showed up and started to attack Justin. He's not going to go around burning up vampires unless they really have it coming.

In all my 40 gay years I've known dozens of gay couples with kids and only one had a gay child. Author's Response: We really haven't progressed that far. Gus and Lee or about 26 and 27 now. Lindsay was embraced which still slows down her aging process. Most of the humans or embraced so they have little to no aging. The kids are growing up and in grade school. This chapter jumped about 7 years forward. Justin is starting to see that no good deed goes unpunished. Trouble with the city, trouble with the boys school. He gives these boys a 'safe' place and opportunities and they take adavantage. Author's Response: Thanks George. Outside of this chapter very little has been said about running the new city which has dominated much of Brian and Justin's time. This chapter advances the story a few years, and ends their political involvement. You might see this chapter as the calm before the storm too.

Great chapter. I thought Justin handled it just right without being too stern but convincing enough to stop the behavior which was his goal. The kids don't want to hurt the school or the city. "Taught the kittens how to better cover their shit" was too funny. That was just like Brian to say that.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing George. Without hard evidence Justin couldn't justify restricting them to the campus yet. And had he come out and said what he knew he would be required by law to report it. It was a delicate matter which he handled the best way he saw; how to stop it without hurting anyone in the process. The boys didn't realize their game was hurting the school and it's over now. From a kid psychology standpoint he avoided the age issue which they would not have listened to as much as learning they were hurting the school and city. Justin has a great way dealing with his kids. He understands them so he knows how to get them to cooperate with him.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review and comments Annjeela. This chapter reflects how 'some boys' in the real gay world decide to come out with money for pride. Most come out with a lover but enough do it this way to mention it. It's not a widespead practice and most boys only do it coming out and stop the money game after that. Often they use that method to seek a lover too. It's a complex part of the gay world now imaged in the vampire gay universe of Embraced. If their bank accounts get too large Justin might have to do something about it.

That's correct... I loooooove the Rocky Horror Picture Show (It's THE film). I know some songs by heart and especially the Time Warp ... My father introduced me to this film and I loved it. It's so décadent, so sexy. Tim Curry is excellent in there. I enjoyed this chapter, nice break ... I am pleased to see the boys happy ... And the hot scene, wow ... (eh, I never had a boat for my birthday and yet I put all my heart and soul into this...Well, I certainly missed the 5 days' duration, but impossible to handle, even 21 years old ;)...) I wish them lots of fun on the boat ... It's the ideal and quiet spot for cuddle and love-making
Author's Response: Thank you myhazel_eyes. I've seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show over 200 times in the theatre when it was a cult craze all over America for many years in the 70s and 80s. I use to know the show by heart but that was a long time ago. Boats are fun and a big hassle. The slip charges are outragous to pay for and it's a pain in the ass to load and unload from a trailer. They require a lot of upkeep and sails have to be replaced after a few years of weather wear. You have to really love to sail to put up with the crap. And you're so right; boats are very romantic. Unless you plan to sail at least twice a month all year a person is better off renting one. Cheaper in the long run. Thanks for the review and comments.

Author's Response: Thanks George for commenting. Heah, you know it's fiction; I doubt we could go 5 days if we weren't vampires and embraced powered lovers. Sailing's fun but basic Sailing 101 class is about $500 and new boats are expensive. You can make a great deal on a used one but you best get it surveyed first and not buy a lemon or be really careful. I've flown and sailed but over time let my expensive hobbies end. The experiences were cool though.

Man you write fast. I had several chapters to catch up with. I'm impressed how you will tell things about real gay life that are forbidden subjects to discuss as you did in this chapter. Nobody ever mentions the underground in real life. The stakes are too great. Yet you put it in the story and explain exactly why it exist. JT,you got a pair on you is all I can say. Great chapter. Author's Response: Thanks for the review and comments George. The underground as it's called has existed since I was an underage kid doing it and that was decades ago. The latest wave of stricter legal rules only forced it more underground and more secret. I debated about doing this chapter but since I wanted this story to refect the gay world within the vampire univese I had an obligation to write it. Some might be disturbed by the chapter but as you know it's a matter of pride and coming out all rolled into one for the boys who do it. Gay boys don't give a sh*t about their age when they want to play dirty. And the cash makes them proud to be gay in a straight world that hates you. It's a complex psychological subject that perhaps only us gay boys/men truly can understand.

'Ego sum humanus', that is easier to write (I realized it was missing a word or two in my previous review).. And it's again an excellent chapter ... but the more I read, the more I opened my eyes wide. Ho, ho ...
