Justin remembers when he doubted Brian's love for him.  He wonders if that's how Brian feels now.  He can only do what Brian did for him back then, <i>show</i> him how much he was loved by his actions.  
 
Justin knows Brian is vulnerable right now in his current condition.  The stud of Liberty Avenue, one of the most successful businessmen in Pittsburgh, is laying on his back in bed.  This is one time he knows Brian wishes he wasn't in bed.  It's because he is still feeling the aftereffects from his latest round of radiation therapy treatments.  
 
Justin knows that in a half hour Brian will be wretching over the toilet bowl.  But he also knows that he will be by Brian's side.  He will rub his back as he heaves.  He will get a cool damp washcloth, and wipe his lover's brow.  He will help him climb back into bed, until the next wave of nauseousness hits him.  Then Justin will be there to do it all over again.
 
Justin knows that Brian is feeling insecure.  For the first time in his life, he cannot maintain an erection.  Probably the worst possible thing that could happen to someone who prides himself on his sexual prowess.  It's been eight weeks since the surgery, and they have yet to have intercourse.  Justin is beginning to forget what it feels like to have Brian deep inside him.  But he is content to be lying next to him, and listening to him breathe.
 
Justin learned that love is not measured by the number of times you have sex during the week, or in their case, during the day.  It's being there to support your partner with a kind word, a hug, or a reassuring smile.  Brian was the one who taught him that invaluable lesson.
 
Justin remembers laying in Brian's arms after the bashing, when he was too scared to do anything else. Brian was so patient with him, and gave him the time he needed to feel safe again.  It was in that moment that he knew how much he meant to Brian.   He never felt more loved.  Justin vows to do the same for him.  He will be patient and understanding too.  He wants Brian to realize that he is not going anywhere, and that he is there to stay.
 
Justin remembers what it's like to make love with the man you adore.   He remembers every touch, every whisper of the night they first made love.  It was tender and sweet, slow and comforting.  He remembers being overwhelmed with emotions, because he never thought two people were capable of such beauty.  A few tears had escaped, and Brian had brushed them away from his face, while he looked into his eyes and told him that it was okay.  
 
Justin knows why he will be there for Brian no matter what.   Because Brian Kinney means everything to him.  He is his best friend, his soulmate, his inspiration.  One look from him can make Justin break into his famous Sunshine smile.    One compliment from him can make Justin have the best day ever.  One kiss from him can make Justin's entire body feel alive.
 
So Justin doesn't need flowers anymore, he doesn't need to hear the unspoken words.  Even if they could <i>never</i> have sex again, Justin acknowledges that they have much more than most people have.  Because there's more to love than making love.  <i>Justin knows that now...</i>
