The kid was emotionally drained, and sobbing now. Brian's arms encircled Justin, and he drew him against his chest. When he was all cried out, he pulled away from Brian. "I don't know how anyone could want me after that. I guess I asked for it." "What do you mean?", Brian asked with concern in his voice. Justin tried to clarify things for him. "I've always known I was different. Instead of playing sports, I wanted to draw. The other kids would tease me. My mother used to call me "sensitive". My stepfather called me a fag and a sissy. In a way, I knew he was right." "He was disappointed in me, and I always seemed to make him angry", Justin stated dejectedly. Brian placed his hand on Justin's face, and stroked his cheek. His skin was so smooth. He slowly ran his fingers through Justin's hair to soothe the kid. "Your stepfather is a twisted man. There's nothing wrong with you Justin, you're a beautiful, talented young man. Some day you'll meet someone who will love you unconditionally." Justin looked at Brian with hopeful eyes. He felt drawn to him in a way he couldn't explain. Justin stepped closer and Brian could feel his breath on his face. He was totally caught off guard when Justin leaned in to kiss him gingerly on the mouth. His lips felt soft, and Brian wanted nothing more than to comfort him and allay his fears. The kiss was tender at first, but then Justin became bold, and began kissing him with a passion that soon made Brian forget all his good intentions. Abandoning his resolve at that moment, he kissed the young man back. Justin's hands caressed the back of Brian's neck, while he placed his hands on Justin's slender waist, and their tongues entwined. Brian had never experienced the depth of emotions that were overtaking him now. His entire being was coming alive with longing and need. When he became cognizant of what he was allowing to happen, he reluctantly pulled back. Justin's confused, hurt look had Brian mentally cursing himself for being the cause of his pain. He tried to reason with the kid. "I can't cross that line Justin. You have to understand, I'm supposed to be here to help you, not take advantage of you. You're seventeen, I'm twenty-nine. If circumstances were different...." then Brian stopped himself, realizing he had already said too much. "Look, nothing more can happen between us. If you want to continue with our sessions, it has to be within the boundaries of a doctor/patient relationship." Justin searched Brian's flushed face. He could tell he meant what he said. Although he wanted a romantic liaison with Brian, he did not want to lose the relationship he had already forged with him. Justin had no choice but to resign himself to the fact that nothing else was going to happen as long as Brian felt that way. There was no denying that they had a very powerful connection, which wasn't purely physical. Their one kiss had been incredible. He was sure Brian had felt it too. Justin would be patient for now. Someday, maybe he could prove to Brian what he now knew in his heart, that they were destined to be together.
