Sunday It had been two days since Craig left. Molly and Justin slept for the first time without complete fear. Justin still had his nightmares but they were soothed away when Molly came in and held him. He hated that his younger sister had to take care of him but he just accepted her love. Today was the day, Justin usually hated this day with a fiery vengeance but today would be different, and today he would hear Brian preach. He was so excited to see the beautiful man talk. He went over to his house yesterday but he wasn’t home and then the brunet came back with what Justin believed were his parents. He didn’t trust parents; how could he after what his father was doing. But as Justin looked in the mirror he knew he needed not to think about this right now. Push it all behind. He was coming down the stairs when he saw Molly. Justin: “You look beautiful, Molly.” Molly smiled at her brother. Molly: “You don’t look so bad yourself.” Justin: “Where’s mom?” Molly: “Coming.” *half smiles* Justin: “Right.” They left for church and of course everyone was asking when Pastor Craig would be back. Justin and Molly wanted to scream ‘hopefully never’, but of course they said on Friday. When they sat down and Brian came unto the pulpit Justin felt his breathe hitch. Brian looked so beautiful. Justin always thought he might be gay; well, he knew he was, but of course people would probably say it was because his father raped him, but it wasn’t. He was born this way; he looked it up when he was twelve once. Justin couldn’t believe that the two-hour sermon passed so quickly. He and Molly walked over to Brian to tell him how good his sermon was, they didn’t have to worry about Jennifer; she was off keeping up appearances. Brian: “Hey Justin, Molly.” Molly: “Hi Mr. Kinney.” Brian laughed and smiled, Brian: “I told you to call me Brian.” Molly: “Oh, okay” *she blushed* Brian: “Justin, are you okay?” Molly elbowed him in the ribs gently. Justin: “What?” Being pulled out of the daze. Justin: “I’m so sorry, what did you say Br- I mean, Mr. Kinney.” Brian laughed again and Molly giggled at her brother’s nervousness; she had never seen him like this. Brian: “It’s Brian, what are you both doing today?” Justin: “Nothing, why?” Brian: “How about you and Molly join my parents and me for lunch?” Molly: “Are you sure?” Brian: “Of course, your mother is welcome to come as well.” Justin: “She probably won’t but we’ll go ask her.” Brian: “Let me know.” Molly and Justin went home with their mother and of course, as they suspected, she didn’t want to go. She wanted to drink herself into stupor like always. Justin was upstairs in his room fixing his hair again. Molly was sitting on his bed laughing at him. Molly: “You’re crazy.” Justin: “I’m not, I just want to make a good impression.” Molly: “Uh huh, sure that’s it.” They left their house and headed over to Brian’s both nervous and excited. It was the first time they had been out with their parents not being around or with Craig leaning over to make sure they were good.
