Guys this has taken me forever. Jeez. Sorry about that. Thanks to my beta CuJo and Helen. Enjoy it.
Michael smiled and grabbed Brian’s hand. “That is so great," he said as he looked at Brian’s ring. Brian pulled his hand away and tried not to smile. “I so knew this was going to happen sooner or later," Emmett clapped his hands and smiled at them. “What are you, a psychic?” Justin asked him. “No,” Emmett told him. “But I can see when two people love each other.” Justin and Brian looked at each other with a smile. “Congratulations,” Ted said to Justin. “Drinks all around. On me,” Ben said. Justin smiled and nodded. He reached for his phone and dialed Rick’s number. He wanted to tell him the happy news. He waited and frowned when the machine picked it up. “Hey, you have to call me. There is something you need to know. I’ll call you later. Where are you?” He hung up and went to join the guys at the bar. “What’s wrong?” Brian asked as he put an arm around Justin’s shoulders. Justin shrugged. “Nothing," he did have a bad feeling but was trying to keep positive. “Are you sure?” Brian caressed Justin’s face knowing that the blond was trouble by something. “Yeah, yeah,” Justin smiled and kissed Brian quickly before he went for something to drink. “I can’t believe you guys are really getting married,” Michael said looking at Brian. “Wow.” “Why is it so hard to believe?” Brian asked. Michael shrugged. “I never saw Justin like the marrying type and you…well, I never thought you would ever come out and be proud.” Brian just nodded, understanding. He sometimes woke up wondering how he ended up with Justin and he thanked whoever had thought of it. He needed the blond in his life. He really loved him. “To the grooms,” Emmett said, raising his cosmopolitan. Justin smiled and pulled Brian to him. He raised his beer and then drank from it. Brian did the same. “I’m happy for you two,” Ben told them. Brian wrapped his arms around Justin’s waist and pulled him closer. They smiled at each other and kissed. “To Brian and Justin,” Michael said rising is beer. “May they always be very happy.” Everyone else did the same as the lovers kissed. *** Brian went inside the house and slammed the door behind him. “What the fuck?” Hunter asked as he jumped at the sound. “What’s going on?” “Go to your room!” Brian yelled. Hunter frowned. “I didn’t do anything," he yelled back. “Hunter,” Brian warned. Hunter pouted and grabbed his things. He glared at Brian and left. Brian sat down in the living room and sighed. He rubbed his face and tried to control his anger. A few minutes later, Justin came inside with Gus. He took the boy to his room and left him playing with his toys. He came back and grabbed a beer before he sat across Brian. “What is with you?” Justin asked. “I saw you,” Brian told him. “Saw me where?” Justin asked. “I went to Woody’s after work,” Brian told him. Justin looked away and cursed under his breath. “Why the fuck would you ask me to marry you?” Brian asked. “That has nothing to do with this, Brian.” Justin told him. Brian glared at him. “Why can’t I be enough?” Brian asked. “You are,” Justin told him. “What the fuck are you talking about?” “Why do you keep on tricking?” Brian asked mad. Justin glared at Brian. “I’m trying!” He spat out. “I don’t fuck as much as I used to before. Jesus, I haven’t had a trick in months.” Brian bit his lower lip. “I’m serious,” Justin told him. Brian shook his head and got up. “Brian, I love you,” Justin told him putting his beer on the coffee table. “If you want me to be monogamous then I’ll do it. I’ll try it.” “I don’t believe you,” Brian told him. “Have I ever lied to you or kept something hidden?” Justin asked. Brian looked at him and shook his head. Justin had always been honest. Always had told him everything even when he knew it was going to hurt him. “I’m telling you the truth,” Justin said. “You can’t blame me for this because we didn’t even talk about it. I'm sorry if I hurt you.” Brian sighed. “I just assumed. Fuck!” Justin walked over to him and grabbed Brian by the waist. “Well, you know how bad it is to assume things.” “Why do you even trick?” Brian asked. “I’ve never been with another man.” “Maybe you should,” Justin told him as he moved away. Brian looked up and him and frowned. “What?” He couldn’t believe what Justin just said. “You heard me," Justin told him. “You want me to be with another man?” Brian asked not believing it. “No," Justin told him and took his beer. “But I don’t want you to wonder what it would be like later on.” Brian watched as Justin left the living room. He sat down again and thought about it. Maybe he should be with someone and show Justin that he wasn’t the only one that could get a man. He shook his head. He really didn’t want to be with anybody else. *** Justin was making dinner knowing that Brian was going to be home very soon. He had time and decided that for once they weren't going to be eating take out. He looked at Gus who was lying on his belly, coloring in a book. He was about to make the salad when he heard a car coming up to the driveway. Gus got up and took off running to see his daddy. He looked out the window and pouted. Justin was just behind him looking too and frowned. Hunter was there with a cop. He sighed and wondered what the boy had done now. Outside Hunter was getting out when Brian arrived. He got out of the Jeep and walked over to Hunter. “What the fuck did you do?” “Is this your father?” Todd asked. Hunter nodded but then shook his head before he nodded once again. Brian sighed. “What did he do, officer?” “Stole my heart,” Todd told Brian. “Jesus,” Brian looked from the officer to Hunter. “I am going inside. I’ll let Justin deal with this.” Hunter smiled at Todd and waved at him to follow him. When they reached the house, Justin was waiting for them. “Hello, I’m Justin Taylor,” Justin said extending his hand towards Todd. “Have I seen you before?” “Yes, we work in the same precinct. I am kind of a newbie,” Todd told him. Justin smiled and let them in. “You are welcome to stay for dinner.” Todd smiled and nodded. “Come with me. I want to show you something,” Hunter said grabbing Todd’s hand. “Hold it right there,” Brian told them as he came behind them. “You guys can sit in the living room and talk all you want.” Hunter groaned and Todd thought he was cute. “You could go help, Justin,” Brian said looking at Hunter. Hunter rolled his eyes and went to the kitchen. “So?” Brian said looking at Todd. “How old are you?” “I could ask you the same thing,” Todd pointed out. “I’m not dating your kid, am I?” Brian crossed his arms. “Touché.” Todd looked at Brian and knew he wasn’t making any points. “Twenty-five.” Brian nodded and then looked towards the living room. “Come on.” They sat down for the rest of the time where Brian continued to give Todd the third degree. “Guys, food is ready.” Justin said coming into the living room. “Come on Brian, stop torturing Todd.” Brian got up and followed Justin. Todd sighed and did the same. “Hi,” Gus said to Todd with a big smile before he climbed up into his chair with Hunter’s help. “Smells great,” Todd said. Justin nodded and sat down. They started eating in silence. Justin kept looking at Brian who was looking at Todd who pretended that no one was looking at him. Hunter was staring at Justin to try and tell him to make Brian stop looking at his boyfriend but the blond wasn’t even looking his way. “Green,” Gus said as he lifted a leaf of lettuce from his plate. “Eat it, baby,” Justin told him. “Who's he?” Gus asked pointing at Todd. Justin smiled. “That’s Hunter’s friend.” Gus nodded happy with that answer. “So how did you guys met?” Justin asked since the only thing that Hunter had told him was that they had meet a week ago. But that didn’t answer his question. Todd looked at Hunter and smiled. “It was a week ago. I thought he was amazing.” “So what happened?” Justin asked passing the salad bowl to Todd. “I was in school when another officer started bitching to Mark,” Hunter said. “And Todd was there.” “Language,” Brian and Justin said at the same time. “I arrived at the place and I saw Hunter yelling at the officer that he was crossing the line. He started shouting that his dads were detectives and that he was going to call them right away,” Todd smirked. “He threw in your names for good measure.” Brian smirked as he looked at Hunter. “I told him to relax and he just looked at me and told me that he was going to tell on me too,” Todd looked at Hunter who was currently blushing. “Oh, that’s priceless,” Brian said laughing. “Then after everything was settled, he came up to me and asked me out,” Todd told them. Justin laughed and shook his head. “Shut up. Stopping after 'we met a week ago' would have been good,” Hunter rolled his eyes and ignored their laughter. Gus stared at the adults not knowing why they were laughing. Hunter kept serious. “Oh, that’s hilarious,” Justin said laughing hard. After everyone had finished laughing, Gus giggled and held his belly like Justin had done. Everyone looked at him and they laughed again; Hunter joining them this time. *** “So, how is everything?” Jennifer asked. “Okay,” Justin told her. “I heard that you and Brian had a fight,” Jennifer told him. Justin sighed knowing that it had been Hunter. For some odd reason his mother saw Hunter as another grandson. “It’s just a little disagreement," he assured her. “We are not breaking up or anything like that. We are okay and the wedding is still on.” Jennifer nodded and took a bite of her food. “How are the boys?” Jennifer asked. “They are home. Hunter is taking care of them. Angel is getting so big, Mom,” Justin said smiling widely. Jennifer smiled too. “I know. I saw him the other day.” “So, you said you needed to talk to me about something,” Justin said. Jennifer licked her lips and looked at her food. “Mom?” Justin asked getting worried. “It’s your father,” Jennifer told him. “Is he giving you trouble again?” Justin asked his mood changing. “No,” Jennifer told him. “I’m worried about him.” Justin frowned. “Why?” He asked confused. He thought his mother would just stay far away from the man. “He lost his job,” Jennifer said. Justin sighed. “I want you to help him,” Jennifer said. “Mom,” Justin protested. “No way.” “I cared for him once, Justin,” Jennifer told him. “I loved him and he loves you guys.” “That’s not true,” Justin told her. “Would you stop loving Angel someday or Gus?” Jennifer asked. “No matter how mad you were at them or them at you?” Justin swallowed and looked away. “No, I wouldn’t," he frowned. “I know it's not the same, Mom. Dad hates me.” “He doesn’t,” Jennifer took a sip from her water. “Please. Just check that he is okay. Please.” Justin sighed. “Fine, Mom. I'll see what I can do,” he would do it just for her. Jennifer smiled. Justin grabbed his cell when it started vibrating and saw that it was from the house. “What is it?” Justin asked. “Justin!” Hunter yelled. “There are two guys in the house. They took Gus. I have Angel with me. I am hiding in his room. I don’t know what to do.” “Fuck!” Justin hissed. “Don’t come out. I will be there in a minute.” “Okay,” Hunter said. “Oh shit! No!” “Hunter?” Justin asked into the phone but the line was dead. *** Brian hit the car's brakes and came to an abrupt halt. He got out of the car seeing that Justin’s car was there with the motor running and the door still open. He pulled out his gun and ran inside. He had received a call from the blond telling him to get to the house immediately. He opened the door and pointed. He looked around and didn’t see anyone. “Justin?” There was no answer and Brian kept going making sure there wasn’t anybody around. “Put your gun down!” he yelled once he reached the kitchen. “I can explain,” the guy pointing his gun at Justin said. Justin just kept pointing back. “I want to know where my kids are.” “They are safe,” the guy told them. “Where are my kids?” Brian asked. “You better tell us now.” “We have them,” the guy told them. “My name is Victor McKenzie. Jeremy sent us.” Justin frowned but didn’t lower his gun. “How the fuck does I know you are telling the truth.” “You could call him while one of you still points the gun at me,” Victor said. Brian sighed and grabbed his cell phone. He didn’t know what the fuck was going on and he wanted answers soon. “What the fuck is going on, Miller?” “I can explain. Did my guys arrive yet?” Jeremy asked. “Justin is currently pointing a gun at one of them,” Brian said telling Justin with his hand to lower his gun. Justin shook his head. Victor sighed and lowered his. “What the fuck happened? Put him on!” Jeremy shouted mad. Brian handed over the phone to McKenzie. “Hi,” Victor said and looked at Brian who was pushing Justin’s arms down. “What the fucked happened?” Jeremy asked reaching for his keys to get to Justin and Brian’s house. “We were waiting for them but then we saw two guys trying to break in. We had to act,” Victor looked away from Brian and Justin who were hugging. He didn’t want to be in the middle of their private moment. “One of them ran away and the other is in custody...in the sense that he can’t get away from us.” “You killed him?” Jeremy shouted into the phone. “Leslie did. He has a bad aim. I told you,” Victor said. “What do you want me to do?” “Just wait for me there. Tell them what’s going on,” Jeremy then hung up. Victor closed the phone and handed it over to Brian. “Where are our kids?” Justin asked. “We moved them to a safe location. I don’t know if the house is tapped so I am keeping that to myself. Jeremy is coming this way,” Victor said. “We have to put you guys under protection.” Brian frowned not liking the sound of that one bit. “What’s going on?” Justin waited to hear what was happening. He knew that somehow it involved Rick. They had been looking for him for a week with no signs. “We found Detective Barlow two days ago,” McKenzie hated to give bad news. “Someone stabbed him repeatedly in the back.” Justin shook his head. He somehow had known his partner was dead but he just didn’t want to accept it. “Does this have to do with the Stockwell case?” Brian asked. McKenzie nodded. “We are one hundred percent sure it does.” Justin just knew he was going to say that.
