Michael frowned as he looked at Chris. They had spent the whole night making love. They had a wild night and Michael decided he wanted to ask Chris to marry him. What he didn’t expect was for Chris to start crying, nonstop. They had gone to sleep tangled in each others arms. In the morning when Michael woke up, he made breakfast, fed his daughter who went back to sleep, and then brought said breakfast to the bed. He asked the question and Chris apparently freaked. “Oh, Mike.” Chris said crying. “Are you happy?” Michael asked. Chris nodded frantically. “Why are you crying?” Michael asked frowning. “I don’t know.” Chris shrieked and then buried his face on the pillow. “Jesus.” Michael whispered. “Baby, look at me.” Chris sat up and looked at Michael. Michael smiled and cleaned Chris’s tears away. He put the ring on his man and then told him to eat something, which Chris did before he got up from bed and ran to the bathroom to throw up. “Open the door.” Michael tried the knob but it was locked. “No.” Chris yelled from inside. “Let me in.” Michael shouted. Chris sighed and opened the door then he went back to kneel in front of the toilet. “I’m no expert but I think…I think we should go do some tests.” Michael told him smiling. “Fuck you, Michael!” Chris hissed and moaned when he felt his stomach doing flip flops. Michael squatted in front of his fiancé and smiled. “I think you're pregnant which would explain your erratic behavior.” “If I am, I’m cutting off your dick.” Chris mumbled. Michael smiled, amused at what Chris was saying. He got up when he heard the phone ringing. “Are you going to be okay?” Chris nodded and waved him off. “Hello.” Michael said once he picked up the phone. He listened to his mother’s frantic screams before he started to understand what she was saying. “Fuck. I'll be there in a second.” He hung up and went back to where Chris was. “I have to go.” “What’s going on?” Chris asked. Michael sighed and looked lost for a second. “It’s uncle Vic. He…he's dead.” Chris frowned and he looked at the floor. He got up and hugged Michael. “I’m so sorry.” Michael pulled back and nodded. “I have to go. Mom needs me.” “Hold on. I’m going with you.” Chris went to the sink to clean his mouth. “You don’t have to.” Michael assured him. Chris looked at him and just stared. “He’s my family too.” Michael nodded. “I’ll go get Vicky.” Chris nodded and watched him go. When Michael was outside, he started crying. It wasn't fair that Vic was gone. He couldn’t believe that one moment he was having the time of his life and now things seemed so awful. He looked at his ring and sighed. When he finished getting cleaned up, he went to the bedroom to get dressed where he found Michael crying. He sat down and hugged the dark haired man. They stayed like that until there were no more tears from either of them. *** Michael hugged his mother tight. He felt himself falling apart. He wasn’t ready to say goodbye to his uncle. He always thought that Vic was so strong, that he would always be there no matter what. He looked back at the rest of his family and gave them a little smile. They had just come back from the cemetery. He looked at Chris who was sitting down and making a face. “I have to go check on Chris.” Debbie nodded and let him go. She found herself being hugged by Justin. “Hey, kiddo.” Justin just smiled and held on. He had no words. “It was a nice service.” Debbie whispered. “Yeah.” Justin told her. “Where are the kids?” Debbie seemed alarmed. “Were they there?” “Yes.” Justin told her. “They're upstairs with Lindsay and Ted.” “Oh. He would have liked to say goodbye to them.” Debbie said. “He kind of did.” Justin had known that there was something wrong with Vic the last time he spent with the kids. Vic was tired but he didn’t want to leave even when Brian and Justin promised they would come back later. They should have known. “Yeah.” Debbie swallowed and let go of the blond. “I’m going to make some coffee.” Justin watched her go and then turned to where he had left Brian but he wasn’t there. He walked to the kitchen and saw Brian through the door. He was about to go outside when a hand stopped him. “Can I go?” Michael asked. Justin smiled and nodded. “Could you stay with Chris? He's not feeling well.” Michael didn’t wait for an answer, he just walked outside. “What do you want?” Brian asked looking at Michael as the man sat down next to him. Michael shrugged. “Nothing really. Can I have one?” He asked as he stared at Brian’s cigarette. Brian took out his box and gave it to Michael. “You don’t smoke.” Michael shrugged and did anyway. “Are you doing okay?” Brian asked. “I should be asking you that.” Michael pointed out. “You don’t look too good.” “He was your uncle.” Brian stared at Michael. “And what was he to you?” Michael took a drag and let it burn him before he let it out. Brian frowned and looked away. “He…he was like a father to me, you know.” He scrunched his face up when he felt the tears threatening to come out. “He…he was a father to all of us. The right man for the job when no one else was there. Jack is a good man but he was never there and Vic was. When that asshole that my mom married, Jonathan, beat the shit out of me I would come here. Vic would always find a way to talk to me and say something…right.” Michael nodded knowing exactly what Brian meant. “I’m going to miss him so much.” Brian took a long drag from his cigarette before he threw it away. He got up and rubbed his face. “I have to find Justin. Come on.” “No. I’m going to stay here for a while.” Michael heard the screen door close and knew he was alone yet he felt someone next to him. He tried to think of what Vic would say in moment like this. “What would you say Uncle Vic?” “Don’t worry too much. I’m okay.” Michael smiled and got up. He threw the cigarette away and went to see how his mother was doing. *** It had be two months since Vic had died. Debbie was doing much better. They made sure to keep having family dinners so she would be there even if it wasn’t at her house. She was starting to come back to them little by little. “Hey!” Justin protested. “That was mine.” Chris stuck his tongue out as he ate the last piece of cake. He was enjoying it but felt like everyone was looking at him. “What?” “Why are you eating so much?” Lindsay asked. “I’m pregnant.” Chris told them very slowly. Everyone at the table stopped talking and looked at him. “Oh my god.” Debbie yelled and got up. She practically ran to him and hugged him. Chris smiled as Debbie hugged him tightly. She kissed him again and again until Michael told her to leave him alone. “That’s so wonderful.” Justin told him smiling. “Thanks.” Chris went back to eating his cake. “I’m so fucking happy.” Debbie smiled widely. She was feeling so happy and it had been a long time since she felt like that. “Vic would have loved this.” Once again everyone stopped to look at her. “Oh, I’m okay. Really. I’m just saying.” Debbie smiled and moved to the kitchen. Michael got up and followed his mother. Justin got up as well and went outside. Brian frowned and followed his blond. “Hey.” Brian said hugging Justin from behind. “It’s kind of chilly out here.” “I’m just thinking.” Justin sighed and held on to Brian’s arms. “I know it's hard sometimes.” Brian whispered to Justin. “It’s hard when you think about it for a second.” Justin eyes watered. “It is.” “I know that you want more kids but…” Justin turned around and put a hand over Brian’s mouth. “I do.” He smiled sadly. “But it's not the right time. Not yet.” Brian nodded and hugged Justin to him. He closed his eyes and concentrated on how good it felt to hold Justin. He felt the heat coming from the smaller body and he smiled. There were going to be just fine. They had time and they would be okay. *** Keefe yelled and pushed Sheridan away who fell down and started crying. Justin arched a brow and shook his head. “These kids are feral.” Brian smirked. “Like his father.” He said remembering the night they had before. Justin arched a brow at Brian and smile. He then picked Sheridan up. “It’s okay, baby.” Keefe pouted and stared crying. Brian picked him up. “Kids.” Craig smiled at Keefe and then looked back at Liam who was currently sitting on his bed. “They look bigger.” “Yeah.” Justin said as he looked at Illona and Fiona who were asleep in the double stroller. “So how are you doing?” Brian asked as he stayed far away by the wall. “I’m better. I will be out of here in no time.” Craig said smiling. He put his hand on top of his grandson’s head and ruffled his hair. “How are you doing, champ?” Liam just smiled at him and then gave him his car. “Who got you this?” Craig looked at Brian when Liam pointed at him. “Nice.” “Want a play?” Liam asked him. Justin walked over to his son and shook his head. “Grandpa is hurt. He can’t play now. You have to wait.” Liam looked at Craig and nodded. “He's a good kid.” Craig told them. “Thanks.” Justin smiled at Brian. “We should be going.” “Yeah.” Craig looked at his hands and sighed. “Guys.” Justin looked up from the other stroller where he was putting Sheridan. “What?” “I know that I did you guys wrong.” Craig frowned. “I shouldn’t have this opportunity that you guys have given me. I am so grateful for it.” His eyes watered. “I want to show you that I’ve changed. That I was wrong and deserved what happened to me.” Justin put his kid in the stroller and walked to his father. He hugged him and both of them cried. Brian sighed as he walked to where Sheridan started to cry. He gave him his toy and then put Keefe in the back. Liam was looking at his father and grandpa hugging so he smiled and crawled to them to be part of the hug. Justin pulled back and smiled at Liam. “It was good to have you guys here.” Craig said and extended his hand to Brian. Brian shook it and nodded. “Mom is gong to be here soon.” Justin told him as he picked Liam up and put him on the floor. Craig nodded and watched them gather their things. “Bye.” Justin told him from the door. He turned around and smiled at his father. “We’ll come back later.” Craig nodded and smiled. When he was all alone in the room, he still didn’t stop smiling. He was a happy man, with a great family. *** Michael was in the store when the door opened and someone came in. He looked up and saw Ben. He swallowed and waited for the man to walk to where he was. “Hey.” Ben smiled at him. “How's it going?” “Okay.” Michael told him. Ben nodded and looked around. “What do you want?” Michael asked. Ben looked back at Michael and sighed. He missed talking to Michael a lot. “I miss you.” Michael frowned and got up from his chair. He walked around the counter and stood in front of Ben. “I can only be your friend.” “I know that.” Ben told him. Michael smiled as he looked up at Ben. “Then I don’t see why you can’t call me from time to time. We could do lunch or talk about the comics. You know that.” Ben nodded. “So how is it going?” “Good.” Michael told him. “Chris is pregnant.” “Wow.” Ben didn’t know what he was feeling. “Congratulations.” “Thank you.” Michael told him. “It’s great. I can’t wait. Chris looks so great. He blames me for it.” He laughed at that. Ben just nodded and stayed silent. He didn’t know what to say. “How is everything going with you?” Michael asked him. “Oh, it’s okay. Been busy with school.” Ben told him and stared at the counter. They stayed silent for a few minutes. Ben looked at his watch and then at Michael. “You have to go?” Michael asked knowing that it was only an excuse. Ben nodded. “I’ll call you and we’ll talk.” Michael took a step forward and hugged him. “You do that.” He pulled away and smiled sadly. He watched Ben walk out and he knew that the man would never come back. He sighed and shook his head. There was nothing he could do. He grabbed his cell to call Chris. He needed to hear his baby’s voice, knowing he would feel a lot better. *** Liam watched as Debbie tucked his brothers in the bed. He smiled at her when she turned around. “Where my daddy?” Debbie smiled at the kid. “He went out. They went to have a night out and I am staying here with you. Okay?” Liam nodded and ran out of the room. Debbie smiled, happy to see him. She had decided to take care of the kids to take her mind off of a few things. She followed the boy to his room and smiled when she saw him playing with his toys. “Are you hungry?” Liam nodded at her. “Am hungry.” “I’m going to go prepare you something, okay?” Debbie watched as he got up and picked up some of his toys and then walked over to her. “You are coming with me?” Liam nodded so Debbie helped with some of his toys. They went to the living room where he sat down to play. Debbie went to the kitchen and started cooking something for the boy. After a few minutes she felt Liam pulling on her shirt. “What is it, baby?” “Where Uncle Vic?” Liam asked Debbie. Debbie frowned not sure what to say to him. She took Liam’s hand and walked with him to the living room. “Honey, Uncle Vic went away.” “I want to see him.” Liam informed her. Debbie closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “You can’t.” “Why?” Liam asked. “He is dead. He died a while ago.” Debbie felt her eyes stinging. Liam frowned. “Where is he?” Liam asked. Debbie wasn’t sure what Liam meant. Vic was dead underground but she didn’t want to tell that to Liam. “He is in heaven.” She truly believed that her brother was there. He was a good man. “Where is that?” Liam asked frowning. Debbie smiled at him. “In the sky.” “Is it pretty?” Liam grabbed his toy and hugged it to his chest. Debbie nodded at him. “It’s really beautiful.” “Are we going to the sky?” Liam just stared at her waiting for an answer. “Not now. Later. Much later, baby.” Debbie hoped that he wouldn’t ask anything else. “So we going to see Uncle Vic.” Liam smiled before he got off the sofa and ran away. Debbie stood there a little taken aback before a smile formed on her face. She would see her brother later and thanks to Liam, she realized that. She put her hand on her chest feeling some invisible weight disappear. *** Justin stared at Keefe for a long time until Brian stood next to him. “What are you dong?” Brian asked arching a brow. “Don’t speak.” Justin whispered as he started to back away from the room. “He just went to sleep.” Brian nodded and started backing away too. Both of them stopped when Keefe whimpered and moved a little. They were even holding their breath. After what it seemed like years, they moved again. “Okay.” Justin said rubbing his shoulders. “Are the girls sleeping?” “Yes.” Brian told him, kissing Justin’s cheek. “I only have to tuck you in.” Justin laughed as they entered their room. “Did you set the alarm?” “Yes.” Brian told him and started to take off his clothes. “Are you tired?” Justin turned around and smirked. He licked his lips and walked over to the brunet. “Why? Do you have something in mind?” “I have a lot of things in mind when it comes to you.” Brian told him in a sexy voice. His arms wrapped around Justin. “Why, Mr. Kinney, are you flirting with me?” Justin laughed and arched a brow. “No way.” Brian told him before he kissed his blond. They both moaned as their bodies touched. “Wait.” “What?” Justin asked as Brian pulled away. He started to take off his clothes as Brian searched for something in one of the drawers. “I have something for you.” Brian grabbed the items he needed and took a deep breath. “A dildo?” Justin asked with a smirk. Once naked he moved to the bed. “I want you tonight.” “Here you go.” Brian handed Justin an envelope. “What is this?” Justin asked looking up at Brian. “Well, I know that I told you to plan a getaway for us but you've been busy, so I did it.” Brian explained. Justin smiled and looked at what was in his hands; two plane tickets. He just stared at them when he saw the destination. “What does this mean?” Justin asked looking at Brian. “Hawaii?” Brian’s lips slowly turned into a shy smile. “I though that after all, you might want to marry me.” Brian said. “Oh my god!” Justin yelled as he got up and then jumped into Brian’s arms. Brian smiled and kissed him. He pushed Justin back in the bed and then showed him the black, velvet box. “There is more.” Justin swallowed hard as Brian opened the box. There was a platinum ring with a square diamond in the middle. It was a man’s ring. It was the perfect ring for him. It was beautiful and Brian had chosen it. “Do you like it?” Brian asked taking the ring out of the box. Justin just nodded and watched as Brian slipped it on his finger. “Wow. This is really happening.” Brian smiled and nodded. He kissed Justin, letting his hands roam the blond’s body. “Make love to me, Brian.” Justin told him. “I’ll make love to you for the rest of my life.” Brian whispered to him. Justin hugged him tightly. He had never been so happy. Brian pulled back just a little bit and looked into Justin’s eyes. He had everything he wanted in his life. “Ahhh!” Illona screamed. Justin frowned as he pulled away from the brunet. He grabbed his pants and put them on. He turned around and smiled at Brian. “Later.” “Later.” Brian smirked and knew they had time.
