Justin opened his locker and almost screamed when someone began talking right behind him. “How are you doing?” Chris asked. “You scared the crap out of me.” Justin told him. “I’m sorry.” Chris said. “How are you doing?” “I’m okay.” Justin said. Chris and Justin turned around to look at a couple of girls who were laughing and pointing at Justin. Justin smirked at them when one of them told him he looked cute. “You look more than cute.” Chris said in a low voice. “Chris.” Justin warned. Chris smirked. “So, you are getting big.” Chris told him. “Yeah. Twenty-five weeks.” Justin said rubbing his belly. “Wow.” Chris said looking at Justin’s tummy. “So where are you living?” “With my parents.” Justin said. “Oh. So what happened with… Brian?” Chris asked. “We are still together.” Justin assured him. Justin couldn’t wait for Brian to come back. He had told his parents that there was a possibility that he might be moving in with Brian. He had thought that living with his parents would be great, but he was staring to see that it wasn’t the same anymore. He needed to be with Brian. “I see. Look…if anyone gives you any trouble, just let me know.” Chris told him seriously. Justin smiled and nodded. “Thank you.” Justin told him. Chris nodded and walked away. Justin breathed a little easier knowing that there was someone he could count on in school. *** Michael looked at the screen and bit his lower lip. It was Brian and he wasn’t going to answer. At least until he knew what was going on with Justin. He had told the others not to answer Brian if the man called and they had asked a ton of questions but in the end just listened to what Michael had told them and not answered. “Honey where is Justin?” Debbie asked. “He hasn’t called me.” “Oh. He must be busy with school and his family.” Michael told her. Debbie nodded and kept walking to another booth. Michael took a deep breath and wondered what he was going to do. He had to find Justin and convince him somehow that Craig Taylor was the devil incarnated. Michael was pretty sure that if Brian discovered what was going on he was going to kill him for not taking good care of Justin. He was going to find a way to bring Justin back before Brian came home. *** “Hi, this is Debbie. Could I speak with Justin?” “He’s not here.” Craig told her. Debbie frowned at the way the man had answered. She hung up the phone and went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner, wondering if Justin was okay. *** “My name is Emmett and I would like to talk with Justin.” Emmett said as Michael looked at him, waiting to see if Emmett could get through. “He’s out.” Craig said. Emmett looked at Michael and shook his head. *** “Good evening. This is Ted Schmidt and I would like to speak with Justin.” “What is this about?” Jennifer asked. “I’m one of his friends.” Ted said looking at Michael who was pacing back and forth in front of him. “Well, I’ll tell him you called. He’s not here at the moment.” “Thank you.” Ted told her and hung up. “What?” “He’s not there.” Ted said. “Fuck! He’s never there.” Michael ranted. “Maybe you should get someone else to call, like one of the girls.” Ted suggested. Michael nodded. He was going to try everything. He still couldn’t contact Justin. The blond had stopped calling him and he was starting to get worried. He had called Brian to tell him what was going on when he didn't seem to be doing any progress on finding Justin. The first time he called Brian hadn't been able to talk to him and in the other one he could hear how mad Brian was so he wasn’t going to make things worse. He just shut his mouth and hoped he could solve the current problem on his own. *** “Just call okay.” Michael hissed. “Fine.” Melanie said, picking her phone. Melanie called and asked for Justin but hung up when they told her that he wasn’t home. “Fuck!” Michael hissed. “I’m sorry.” Melanie told him. Michael nodded and got out of her office. *** Brian closed his phone with a sigh. He couldn’t find Michael or Justin anywhere. He decided to just call someone else. “Hello?” Lindsey asked. “It’s me, Brian.” “Oh hey. How are you?” “Fine.” Brian spat out. “So why are you calling?” Lindsay asked worried. “Is everything okay?” “Yeah. Where are Michael and Justin?” “Michael is here.” Lindsay said. “Hold on.” Lindsay passed the phone to Michael. “Hey.” Michael said. “Where have you been? I have been trying to call you nonstop for the past two days.” Brian hissed. “I can’t talk right now.” Michael said. “I’ll call you.” “Hello? Hello?!” Brian asked into the phone. “Fuck!” Brian threw his phone on the bed before he grabbed his jacket. He needed a drink. *** “So what should my name be?” Lindsay asked. “The one you have.” Michael told her. “So I say ‘Hi, this is Lindsay and I’m looking for my boyfriend’ and I can speak to him?” “I don’t know. It’s a plan.” Michael told her. “Justin’s father is a homophobic prick. So maybe he would be happy that there is a girl in Justin’s life.” “This is so fucking crazy.” Lindsay said, dialing the number. Lindsay waited and after a while she hung up. “What happened?” Michael asked. “They say that number is no longer in service.” Michael shut his eyes and took a deep breath. Brian was so going to kill him. *** Justin smiled as his mom placed a tray of food in front of him. “How was the first day?” Jennifer asked. “It was okay. There are still a lot of people talking about me. They are amazed to see me, I guess.” Justin told her as he picked up his fork. “I’m sorry you have to go through that.” Jennifer told him. Justin smiled and took a bite of the chicken. “Mom?” “What?” Jennifer asked. “Have any of my friends call me?” Justin asked. “Daphne called you hon.” Jennifer said. “Aside from her.” Justin said smiling. Jennifer shook her head. “No one has, honey.” Justin swallowed his food and felt sad. He wondered why nobody cared for him anymore. “So where is my phone?” Justin asked looking around. “Oh. Molly broke it.” Jennifer said. “You can use mine later.” Justin nodded. He wanted to hear from the gang. The only person he had talked to was Brian and that because he would call him. It only had been for a couple of minutes because Brian was always busy. Justin stopped stressing about everything and ate his food. *** Brian pushed the door open and, quickly dropping his carry on and suit jacket, closed the door again. He moved towards the living room. He looked around but didn’t find Justin anywhere. He picked up his phone to call the blond. He wanted to know why the fuck Michael or Justin hadn’t called him and why they weren’t picking up his calls for almost two fucking weeks. Brian was only supposed to have been there a week but someone had managed to screw everything up. He would have almost killed the other incompetent ad exec if it wasn’t for Cynthia. When Brian couldn’t reach Michael or Justin, he had tried calling Deb’s house but no one ever picked it up. He would have called the guys but apparently they wouldn’t answer his calls, so he just had given up. He had worked real hard so he could come home as soon as possible and now that he was here, he wanted some answers. “Hello?” “Hey, Deb. It’s me, Brian. Is Justin there?” Brian asked. “He is not.” “Do you know where he is?” Brian asked, wondering where Justin was. “He’s with his mom. What the fuck is wrong with you?” “His mom?” Brian asked. “What the hell are you talking about?” “He has been living there for about two weeks.” Debbie told him. “After he went to the hospital…” “Hospital?! What the hell is going on? Why didn’t anybody call me?” Brian asked, pacing around his living room. “Michael was, but then Emmett said you were in New York.” Debbie said. “Where is Michael?” Brian asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. Brian wanted to know why Michael had never called to tell him what was going on. He wanted to know why Justin hadn’t told him that he had moved back with his parents. “I don’t know. He is going nuts trying to find Justin.” “Find Justin!” Brian yelled. “You just said he was with his mom.” “Don’t you fucking scream at me! Shit!” Debbie shouted. “Justin hasn’t called us and we can’t get through to him. They changed the number.” “I have to go.” Brian told her and hung up. Brian grabbed his keys and ran out of the apartment. He needed answers and soon. He needed to know where Justin and his son were. *** “You don’t have to worry so much. Justin will call us soon.” Emmett said. “You weren’t there Emmett. Justin’s dad is crazy. I can’t get in touch with Justin.” Michael said. “Justin doesn’t even call me himself anymore. I don’t know but something is going on. I think I’m going to go to his school and see if I can find him.” “Maybe it’s nothing.” Ted said. “You don’t have anything to worry about.” “I mean, he just got back to his family. He must be doing so many things with them. You know he used to talk about them a lot. He must be so happy and busy with them.” Emmett said. The door to the diner was opened and Brian came in. “Oh shit.” Michael whispered. “Let’s go now!” Brian hissed. Michael quickly got up. “What’s going on?” Emmett asked. “None of your fucking business.” Brian told him as he walked out of the diner with Michael behind him. “Where are we going?” Michael asked. “How long has Justin been living with them?” Brian asked. “Two weeks.” Michael said. Brian nodded and got into his jeep, unlocking the door so Michael could get in. “What happened?” Brian asked. Michael started from the day that Justin had been taken to the hospital. He conveniently forgot to tell Brian that Ethan was ever there. He told him what had happened when he went to see Justin and what happened with the phone. “Fuck, Mikey!” Brian hissed and pulled out a cigarette. “I’m sorry.” Michael said. Brian took a long drag and let it out. “So, what’s the plan?” Michael asked. “I don’t know. But Justin hasn’t called me in forever.” Brian said. “I’m worried, Mikey.” “This is my entire fault. I should have never let Justin go with them.” Michael lamented. “I should have stayed with Justin.” Brian said. “I should have told Marty to fuck off.” “So what are you going to do now?” Michael asked. “I’m going to go get him.” Brian said. “I tried that already. I even took Casey, Babylon’s bouncer, with me.” Michael said. “They wouldn’t open the door and called the cops on us. When we heard them coming, we left the place.” “You are shitting me.” Brian said. Michael shook his head. “We are going to the police then.” Brian said. “We are?” Michael asked. “We’ll talk with Carl.” Brian told him. Michael nodded, relieved that Brian was back. He knew that Brian would get Justin back one way or another. “So why aren’t you strangling me right now?” Michael asked. “Because I need someone to help me.” Michael nodded. “Are you mad at me?” “Yes.” Brian told him. “You should have told me what was going on.” “I thought I could take care of it myself. Sorry.” Brian nodded and Michael was glad that Brian didn’t seem to be as angry as he thought the brunet was going to be with him. *** Justin got up from bed and opened the door. He couldn’t sleep and thought that maybe some hot milk would help. He went down the stairs and heard arguing in his father’s study. He walked slowly towards his father’s office. He stopped and listened. “I don’t care, Craig. He is still our grandson. I don’t think we should do this.” Jennifer said. “We are, Jen. This is for Justin’s own good. It will be the best thing.” Craig hissed. “You don’t want to see Justin tied down to a kid.” “No, but maybe we don’t have to give him away. I could take care of the baby and Justin can go to school.” “Oh my god.” Justin said. Justin moved and opened the door. “You are not taking my son away from me!” Justin hissed. “Justin.” Jennifer said. “What are you doing up, honey? You should be resting.” “I’m going home.” Justin told them, realizing that what he considered to be his home was not anymore. “You are not going anywhere.” Craig shouted. “Where are you going to go?” “I’ll go back with Debbie. She cares about me. And I’ll wait for Brian to come back. He loves me.” “So much that they haven’t come to see you. They haven’t even called you.” Craig hissed. Justin opened his mouth to say something, but he knew it was true. He turned around to go back to his room. He was going to get away from his father and mother before they took his baby away. He would go back to the apartment and wait for Brian to get back.
