I have used this warning for people who have forgotten Brian and Lindsay were involved in college and that Brian offered to make her pregnant the old fashioned way in Season 1 Episode 1. If the concept disturbs you, skip over it.
Brian was awakened by Justin moaning. Justin was still lying with his head on his chest. “I feel awful,” Justin groaned. “You look awful,” Brian said flatly. “Thanks.” “Do you need some painkillers?” Brian asked. Justin nodded, but moaned again. “Why is my head hurting?” “You hit it on something when you passed out.” “Why did I pass out?” “I hit you.” Justin tried to lift his head, but couldn’t. “Oh Brian, I don’t feel so good,” he moaned. Brian edged from under Justin, making him moan again. “I’ll get your pills.” “Hurry.” Brian smiled. Why did Justin have to be so adorable? He retrieved the pills from the coffee table and walked back up the stairs. Justin was sitting up, touching his face. “Is it bad?” Brian nodded. “You’ll be okay though.” “I should be at school.” “I don’t think you’ll be going anywhere for a week,” Brian shrugged. “A week, what did you do to me?” Brian rolled his eyes. He already felt responsible for this and the guilt was diluting his anger. In fact, he wasn’t sure why, but he wasn’t angry at all anymore. Justin said his heart knew how he really felt and Brian knew he was right. He cared about Justin, he couldn’t help it. Brian wanted to believe Justin cared about him too. He knew it was hard for him to trust people. It wasn’t something he’d ever done before Justin. He decided to reserve judgment on Justin’s sincerity. Justin was stuck here for a week, regardless. “You ever lie to me again and this will be nothing to what I’ll do to you,” he frowned. Justin nodded. Had Brian forgiven him? Justin prayed he had. It was better not to dwell on it. He’d take his lead from Brian. “Where are you supposed to be?” Brian asked. “Can you get me my cell?” “Where is it?” Justin thought for a moment. He felt his pockets and pulled the cell phone out. He scrolled down his messages. Daph had told his Mom they went to New York for the weekend. He'd already had two messages from Daph this morning. The first wanted to know what was up, the second was more urgent. Justin looked at the clock. It was lunchtime. He dialed Daphne. “Where are you?” She yelled into the phone. “I’m at Brian’s.” “Why are you still there, why aren’t you here?” She demanded. Justin wasn’t sure what to say. He couldn’t tell her Brian hit him. “I had an accident.” “Accident? Are you okay?” “Yeah, but I won’t be appearing in public until my face is better. My face connected with something hard.” He glanced at Brian, who walked away. “You have to come in. You won’t graduate if you don’t attend,” Daphne shrieked. “It won’t have a problem getting a doctor’s certificate.” “How bad is your face?” Daphne gasped. Justin touched his face lightly and winced. “Bad.” “What are you gonna say to your Mom?” “I thought you might have some ideas.” He put his hand over the phone. “Can Daphne come over after school?” Brian cringed…school…friends…ughhh. “She can stay with you while I go to the office. Ask her what time?” Justin smiled. “Why don’t you come over later and help me work it out?” Justin gave her the address and arranged for her to be there at three thirty. He closed his cell and looked at Brian. “I need to get a certificate for school.” “Not a problem,” Brian rolled his eyes again. “I'm sure you don’t remember, but you saw a doctor last night.” “I did? When?” “When you passed out on the kitchen floor,” Brian responded. “He stitched you up, but you slept through it,” he sighed. “You'd better have a look.” He held out his hand to help Justin up. Justin took it and allowed Brian to help him to the bathroom. When he looked in the mirror, he gasped. “Fucking hell.” “You should shower. I’ll get you some clothes.” He handed Justin his robe to wear. “Use this until I can organize something.” Brian felt uncomfortable. This was feeling very domestic. “Brian?” Justin said softly. Brian looked back over his shoulder. “Hmmm.” “Can you help me get undressed?” Brian wasn’t sure what to do. “Do you really need me to undress you?” He asked suspiciously. Justin nodded. “I’m having trouble moving.” Brian shook his head and turned the on shower. Carefully, he removed Justin’s clothing. The sight of Justin naked made his cock jump to attention. “There,” he said, and he turned to leave, trying to will his hard on away. “I don’t think I can do this by myself,” Justin sighed. Brian took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He removed his own clothes and stepped into the shower. “Come on.” Justin walked slowly to the shower and stepped inside. He could see Brian was hard, so was he. Brian soaped Justin slowly. Fucking hell… he wasn’t made of steel. Touching Justin was torture. Brian wanted to spin him around and fuck the living daylights out of him. He continued soaping Justin until he was clean. “There, let’s get you out.” He reached out to turn off the water but Justin stepped back against him. “Can you do one other thing for me?” Justin said softly. “What?” Brian said suspiciously. “Fuck me?” He pressed back against Brian’s hard cock. “Justin we can’t, you can barely move.” Brian shook his head. As much as he wanted to, this was madness. Justin pressed back against Brian again. “I want you inside me.” He grabbed Brian’s arms and pulled them around him. “Justin, I….” “Please Brian, I need to feel you,” Justin replied. Brian’s resolve was melting. “Not now, I might hurt you again.” “Yes now, I need you.” Brian wasn’t sure what to do. He knew what he wanted to do, but he couldn’t. As Justin rubbed against him, Brian thought he would explode. Fuck it. He grabbed a condom and the lube, coating his fingers thickly. With one arm around Justin’s waist to support him, Brian’s fingers searched for Justin’s entry. As Brian massaged his lover's opening, he closed his eyes. “Mmmm,” he moaned softly. He knew how much he wanted Justin, but did Justin really feel the same? As Justin loosened, Brian slid a finger inside him. Justin was tight and hot and Brian wanted him so much, he could barely think straight. “Yes,” Justin moaned and leaned back against Brian’s finger. “Fuck me,” he panted. “Slow down,” Brian whispered in his ear. He may be responsible for Justin’s condition, but fuck if he was going to just shove his cock inside Justin and hurt him. “Wait,” Brian ordered. “I can’t, I want you,” Justin murmured. “Slowly or forget it,” Brian growled. He stretched Justin until he felt him loosen and added another digit. Justin was struggling to stand up. He lent further forward and willed himself to relax. Justin knew Brian wouldn’t do this if he didn’t want to. It wasn’t just sex with them. If Brian fucked him, that meant Brian cared about him. Being with Brian was all he’d ever wanted. Brian sheathed up and pressed his cock against Justin opening. He could feel Justin’s desperation and was feeling the same. As he slowly pushed inside, Justin cried out. “Are you okay?” Brian mumbled. “Do it,” Justin begged. Brian sunk completely into his lover, fighting the urge to cry out himself. Being inside Justin was always incredible, but as he waited for Justin to adjust, he fought the urge to hurry. He needed to focus, to be mindful of Justin’s condition. Brian proceeded slowly. Justin ground against Brian’s cock, forcing his lover deeper inside him, he moaned. “Please Brian, fuck me.” Brian slowly began to thrust. Each time he sunk into Justin, he wanted it never to end. Could he give this up because of his stupid pride? He grabbed Justin’s hips to support him and thrust into his lover, over and over. When he couldn’t wait any longer, he grabbed Justin’s cock and jerked him off. They both came together, both gasping for breath, while the water continued beating down on them, as they struggled to breathe. A few minutes later, Brian opened his eyes. He kissed Justin’s ear. “Are you okay?” “Mmmm,” Justin smiled. “I’m better than okay when you’re inside me.” Brian smiled too. This felt so good. Not wanting to lose contact, Brian waited as long as possible until his cock softened and slipped out. They rinsed off and he reached for a towel. “We better get out before you get pneumonia.” Justin allowed Brian to dry him and help him into the robe. He couldn’t stop smiling. Brian loved him too. There wasn’t a part of him that didn’t hurt, but Justin didn’t care. As he tried to walk back to the bedroom, he faltered. “You aren’t alright,” Brian growled. “You didn’t have to….” “I didn’t have to do anything, but I wanted you. I want you all the time. I can’t think about anything but you,” Justin sighed. “You’ve got me, now you need to eat,” Brian shrugged. ******** Brian rang for take out and they were just finishing when Daphne arrived. “Oh my god, Jus, your face,” she gasped. Brian kissed Justin on the cheek. He nodded to Daphne, nervously. “How long can you stay?” “I need to be home by ten,” she said. “Jack will be coming by with your certificate for school. He wants to check in on you anyway. I’ll get you some clothes while I'm out, but I need to go to the office. I’ll be back by nine. Is there anything else you want?” “For you to hurry back,” Justin smiled. Brian kissed Justin again. He smiled at Daphne this time. “Here’s my number. Call me if he needs anything.” Daphne nodded and waited for Brian to go. When the loft door closed, she bombarded Justin with a barrage of questions. “One thing at a time,” Justin laughed. “What will I tell my Mom?” “How the fuck am I supposed to know," she grumbled. "I’ve been dancing around her all weekend. You should ring her, Jus. She knows something is going on.” “What did you say to her?” Justin sighed. “Only that we were partying and you would be home today.” Justin picked up the phone and dialed his mother. “Mom, its Jus.” “Justin, I was worried. Are you okay? Why didn’t you call me? Daphne wouldn’t tell me anything.” “Mom, I’m eighteen. I’m a man now. You can’t keep me in a draw.” “I know that honey, but I worry about you,” Jennifer Taylor sighed. She knew Justin needed space, but it didn’t stop her worrying. “What time are you coming home?” “Mom, I don’t want to fight with Dad anymore. I’m gay and he’ll just have to accept it.” “Justin, your father won’t accept it. I’ve tried talking to him. He won’t listen to me,” she sighed loudly. “I know, Mom. That’s why I need a break, so I won’t be home this week. I’m staying with a friend.” “No, Justin, come home.” “Mom, please. I need this time,” Justin pleaded. “Are you staying at Daphne’s?” “No, I’ve met someone.” “Justin, you’re too young to be making those sorts of decisions.” “I’m eighteen and they’re my decisions not yours,” Justin sighed. “Justin, where are you?” Jennifer insisted. “Mom, I’m staying with a friend.” “What about school?” “I’m taking the week off,” Justin announced. “Justin, you can’t. What about your attendance? They won’t let you graduate.” “It’s okay. Can I tell you the truth without you freaking out on me?” Now Jennifer was scared. “Where are you, Justin?” “You can’t tell Dad…promise me?” “I promise, now where are you?” “I told you, I’m staying with a friend. I’ll meet you tomorrow and tell you everything. Trust me, Mom. Do you trust me?” “Yes Justin, but I want to see you. I’m worried. Are you sure you’re okay?” “I’m fine. I’ll call in the morning and you can come and see for yourself. I need to go, Mom.” He hung up before she could object. ******** “Justin, wait.” Jennifer heard the line go dead. She was frantic. Where was he? He said he was okay, but could she believe him? She took a deep breath. Justin had never lied to her before. He said he would call tomorrow and he promised he’d tell her everything. She could call Daphne again, but that wasn’t really very trusting. Justin asked her to trust him and even though it would be a long night, she’d given her word. Justin was a responsible young man. Jennifer knew she’d just have to trust that she’d raised him properly. If Justin said they would meet tomorrow, then he meant it. Something was obviously wrong though. He’d made her promise, she wouldn’t freak out on him. Who was he staying with? Justin said it was a friend. She wondered what sort of friend. Craig Taylor came in from the garage. He could see his wife was upset. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing, what do you want for dinner?” ******** Daphne rolled her eyes. “Are you really gonna see your Mom like this?” She pointed to his face. “She promised she wouldn’t freak out. I won’t lie to her about something this important. I’ll tell her about the weekend too.” “Okay ‘Honest John’, what really happened to your face?” “Do you promise not to freak as well?” Daphne nodded. “I was wrestling with Brian and he hit me by accident.” “Brian did this to you,” she gasped. “Not all of it. I passed out on the kitchen floor and hit my head.” “Passed out?” “Yeah, Brian wanted me to get stitches, but I wouldn’t go to the hospital. We argued for a while and he was getting dressed to make me go, when I passed out. He called the doctor and he came and stitched up my eye. I didn’t see him, I slept through it.” Daphne shook her head. She’d tried to wake Justin many times over the years. If he was tired, he could sleep through a tornado. “Was Brian freaked?” She asked. “What do you think?” He laughed. ******** Brian dropped into Torso to get Justin some clothes. It wasn’t a place he usually shopped in, but the clothes were young and trendy, although he felt they had little flair or style. “Brian,” Emmett smiled. “What brings you here?” “Justin needed some clothes and I thought of you.” “Where is he?” “What does that have to do with anything,” Brian snapped. “Do you want the commission or not?” Emmett sighed. “What does he need?” “Enough for a week, jeans, tees, sweats… you know what I mean.” “Does he need club clothes?” “No, just casual stuff and trunks, maybe some runners,” Brian shrugged. “What size is he?” “How the fuck should I know?” Brian snapped again. “Don’t you know?” Emmett sighed again. Why was everything to do with Brian so difficult? “I can guess his clothes size, but I need a shoe size.” Emmett handed Brian the phone. Brian sighed. Fuck. He dialed the loft and Justin answered. “It’s me. What’s your shoe size? Good.” He hung up the phone. “He’s a nine.” Emmett nodded and gathered up a selection for Brian’s approval. Justin was still holding the phone. “What’s up?” “That was Brian,” Justin said, puzzled. “He wanted to know my shoe size.” “Well, he said he would get you some clothes,” she shrugged. “Shoes are sort of clothes, I guess.” Justin hung up the phone in amazement. Brian was buying him clothes. He didn’t expect Brian to spend money on him. He’d intended to get his Mom to bring some tomorrow. Justin was excited. He wondered what Brian was getting him. Brian threw his credit card onto the counter. “Do you want the bare essentials?” How the fuck was he supposed to know what Brian wanted? “No, I said give me everything he’ll need for a week,” Brian growled. “Do you have a budget in mind?” Emmett asked. Brian glared at him. “Just give me the fucking clothes.” Emmett shrugged. He put the lot through the register. If Brian wanted clothes, he’d get clothes. Brian glanced at the total and signed the slip. It was chump change, not even the amount of one of his suits. “Thank you. Have you heard from Michael?” Emmett shook his head. “Michael seemed to be very cozy with Ben,” he said carefully. “So I noticed,” Brian replied flatly. If Michael was involved with Ben, he was nuts. “I’ll be out of town for the rest of the week. I’ll call him when I get back and by the way,” he paused. “Thanks for the clothes.” Brian raised one eyebrow. “My pleasure,” Emmett smiled and he meant it. He just made a month’s worth of commission. “Have a good trip.” Brian picked up the bags and hurried to his office. Cynthia was still in and helped Brian make arrangements. He answered some emails, signed off on two campaigns and spoke to the ad execs that were still there. Cynthia was amazed as Brian explained what he wanted. Brian said he was taking some personal time and he’d told her to make a reservation for two at one of the most romantic places she’d ever seen. After working for Brian Kinney for five years, she’d never seen any signs of him being human, let alone romantic, and as far as him taking personal time… What the fuck? Cynthia was in shock, but knew better than to ask questions. There was only one logical possibility. Fuck, Brian had a boyfriend. She still didn’t comment, not willing to incur his wrath, by intruding on his privacy. She arranged for the accommodation as per his instructions and for the tickets to be delivered to the loft the next morning. Their flight was at three. As Brian drove home, he was pleased with what he’d achieved in such a short time. He would need to work a little, but he intended to spend as much time with Justin as possible. They wouldn’t be going out much with Justin’s face the way it was, but there would be plenty to do in. Brian smiled. Earlier in the shower was great. Brian wondered what it would be like to have that available to him all the time. He was about to find out and he was excited. He arrived home promptly at nine. Daphne gasped when she saw all the bags. Justin was speechless. Brian hustled Daphne out the door on the pretext of not wanting her to be home late. “Look at this stuff in the morning. Let’s go to bed,” Brian suggested. “Have you eaten?” Justin asked. “I ate with you before.” “That was lunch, what about dinner? Daph and I got take out. I ordered you a stir fry. Do you want me to heat it up?” Justin smiled. “I can do it,” Brian said, confused. “I’ll look at some of this while you eat.” Brian could see Justin was excited. He nodded and went to the kitchen to get the dinner Justin had saved him. He wasn’t used to someone telling him to eat, but he didn’t mind it. Besides, he did need to eat more regularly. Jack was always at him about it. He had to admit, he wasn’t much of an eater. Most of the time, he simply forgot. Brian returned a few minutes later to see Justin pulling things out of bags. “Does it look okay? I went to Emmett’s store,” Brian said. “Did Jack check in on you?” “Yeah, he’s nice,” Justin smiled. “I gave the certificate to Daph to hand in for me. Jack said I would be okay next week. This is the last week of school anyway, then, I’m free as a bird till college starts.” He continued rummaging through his new clothes. There were so many of them. “You didn’t need to buy so many, but thanks.” “Seeing as though you have the rest of the week off, I thought we might go away for a few days, what do you think?” “Where?” “I thought I would surprise you, is that okay?” “When would we leave?” “Our flight is at three tomorrow,” Brian smiled. “I need to see my Mom tomorrow morning.” “Okay, I should go to the office anyway. Will she be okay about this?” Justin smiled. “She’s cool…my Dad is another story, but Mom is great.” Brian nodded and finished his dinner. He’d never had to worry about a mother before. He hoped Justin’s, wouldn’t make him go home. Brian helped Justin to his feet. “Bed for you young man,” he smiled. “Hey, what about dessert?” Justin grinned. “You had that at lunch time.” “But now it’s supper,” Justin objected. “Tonight you sleep. Jack ordered rest. There’ll be plenty of time for play while we’re away. Deal,” Brian held out his hand to Justin. Justin smiled and shook it. “Deal.” Brian led Justin up the stairs and deposited him into bed. “I won’t be long, I need a shower. Take your pills.” Justin nodded. By the time Brian came out of the shower, Justin was asleep. He turned off the lights and climbed into bed. Justin was on his back, snoring. Brian lay on his side, watching Justin sleep. This was about the same time as when it all went to hell last night. No, Brian smiled. This was about the time Justin was fucking his brains out last night. He felt his cock twitch. It was a very different type of orgasm. There was something about the pressure…the fullness made it so much more intense. He’d jerked off with a finger in his ass before, but he wasn’t prepared for the way it felt when Justin was hitting his prostate with every thrust at the same time. Fucking incredible, he smiled. Brian studied Justin’s face. It was worse now than last night. Justin was usually so beautiful, but now… what had he done to him? He hadn’t meant to hurt Justin. Brian knew he would have let him beat him to a pulp, if that meant he could stay. Justin must care about him and if he was really honest with himself, he had to admit, he felt the same. Suddenly, Brian realized, it had been three days since he’d tricked. Fuck. He hadn’t even thought about tricking. Justin was everything he ever wanted. Brian knew his drive had always been high, but Justin’s stamina was a dream come true. He’d never met anyone who could wear him out before, but Justin did all the time. Each time was better than the time before. He was never bored; he couldn’t get enough. He remembered their conversation the night before. Well it wasn’t exactly a conversation…more like a fight. Brian smiled. He was still amazed at what Justin had learned from books. Justin was the best lover he’d ever had and he was fussy. It made sense now the way Justin reacted the first time he fucked him. He was scared and unprepared. Brian wished he’d taken more time, but he didn’t realize. He wished Justin had told him, but there was probably something to Justin’s line of thought. If Justin had introduced himself and been honest about his inexperience, he would have never brought him home. Brian remembered the night Justin sucked off Ryan at Babylon and how buzzed he was that everyone was talking about Justin. He was also buzzed to take Justin away from Ryan, to show Ryan that Justin was his. Brian had never told anyone someone belonged to him before. He wondered where the words came from at the time. They’d just tumbled out of him. Did he know then? Thinking about Justin had made his cock hard. He looked down and he was leaking pre-come. It wouldn’t be fair to wake Justin. He needed to sleep. Brian wrapped his hand around his cock and jerked off to the memory of Justin fucking the second time. He came when he remembered Justin shooting inside him… the way it felt, the way gravity made it run out of him… dripping. He wasn’t freaked out this time. This time, it was hot. Brian cleaned up, threw the tissues in the bin and wound himself around Justin. ******** A ringing phone woke Brian and Justin from their sleep. Justin picked it up. “Hmmm.” Lindsay was surprised to hear a strange voice. “Justin?” “Mmmm.” “Is Brian there?” She asked. Justin passed the phone to Brian. “You,” he mumbled, still asleep. Brian opened his eyes. He blinked the clock into focus and sat up. “Kinney,” he said abruptly. “Brian, I need to see you.” “Linds?” He blinked the clock into focus again. “What’s wrong?” It was six in the morning. “I need to ask you something. I need your help. Can I come over before you go to work?” Brian could hear by her voice something was up. “Come over now.” He sat holding the phone after it disconnected. Lindsay must need something. What had ‘the cow’ she lived with, done now? Brian had hated Melanie Marcus on sight. They met in college and he’d always felt she manipulated Lindsay. She was a fan of the ‘if you love me you’ll do as I say” philosophy and he couldn’t stand her. Justin sat up and put his arm around Brian. “What’s wrong?” “Lindsay’s coming over.” “Now?” “Soon. I should get dressed.” Brian climbed out of bed. Justin could see Brian was worried. He didn’t say anything. Brian dressed and put on the coffee. What did she want at six am? Hopefully, she’d decided to leave ‘the cow’ and have a decent life. When the coffee was ready, he poured Justin a cup and took it back to him in bed. “How are you feeling today?” Brian smiled. “I didn’t think it was possible to feel worse than yesterday,” Justin sighed. Brian smiled. “This should be the worst of it. Why don’t you have your shower?” “Are you showering with me again?” Justin smiled provocatively. Brian wasn’t sure what Lindsay wanted. He may have to do something for her. “There probably won’t be time. We have to leave here at one, I need to fix Lindsay’s problem and go to the office. You need to pack and deal with your mother. Justin frowned. “How long do you think Lindsay will be here?” “Not sure,” Brian shrugged. The doorbell interrupted them. Brian kissed Justin softly and went to answer it. As he opened the door, Brian tried to gauge how serious this was. Lindsay was smiling, it couldn’t be bad. “Linds,” he smiled. “What’s up?” “I need a favor.” She kissed him on the cheek and walked in. “If I can. Coffee?” “Please,” she smiled. Brian poured two cups and joined her on the sofa. “So what do you need?” “Sperm.” Brian blinked. “Pardon?” “When were you last tested?” “Two weeks ago, why?” Where was this going? “Mel and I want to have a child and…” “Hang on,” Brian stopped her. “Go to a sperm bank.” “I don’t want a stranger. I want my child to be a product of love. I love you, Brian, you know that and you love me too.” “Lindsay, I’m not fucking you again. College was a long time ago, it isn’t who I am anymore,” Brian sighed. “I don’t want you to fuck me. Mel wants to inseminate me.” Brian couldn’t believe Mel had agreed to this. She hated him. “With my swimmers?” Lindsay shrugged. “She doesn’t think you’ll do it. Mel wants a stranger, but I want you. You’re handsome, intelligent, successful, with all the strength and characteristics I want my child to have. Please Brian?” “Linds, I don’t want to be a father,” he frowned. “You won’t have to be. We don’t want any money from you and Mel and I will be the parents. I just want your sperm. We would make a beautiful child together, Brian. Don’t give me an answer now. Think about it.” “What does Mel say about this?” Brian was curious. What was ‘the cow’ up to? “I told her I wanted you or it was no deal,” Lindsay admitted. “And if I say no?” Lindsay hung her head. “I had to agree to use the sperm bank if you wouldn’t do it, but I want you. I don’t want some stranger’s jizz inside me,” she sighed. “So Melanie’s sure I won’t do it,” Brian smiled. “I’ll think about it. I’ll be out of town till next Monday. I’ll call when I get back.” “I know you and Mel don’t get along," she sighed. "But you wouldn’t be doing it for her. It would be for me, Brian.” The desperation in his friend’s voice was intense. He could imagine how smug that cow was when she boxed Lindsay into a corner this way. As much as he didn’t want a child, the poetic justice of that cow looking at his face every day for the rest of her life, might make it all worthwhile. Lindsay could see Brian was thinking. Well, he hadn’t said no. There was a chance. “Where are you going?” “Justin and I are having a week away.” “Together?” She gasped. “It wouldn’t be much fun if we weren’t in the same place,” Brian laughed. Of all his friends, Lindsay was the least likely to give him a hard time about Justin. Lindsay smiled. “I’m glad, Brian. I like him.” “I like him too. Now get out of here, I have a ton of things to do before we go.” Brian walked her to the door and kissed her goodbye. “I will think about it. I’ll call you when I get back.” “Thanks Brian,” Lindsay smiled. “Have a good time.” Brian smiled and nodded. As he closed the door, Justin came down the stairs. “I needed clothes,” he smiled as he gathered up the bags. “I’ll get you a suitcase. Where are you packing?” Brian smiled. The reality of going away with someone intrigued him…Mmmm. If he allowed himself, he may even get excited. He’d thrown caution to the wind with this decision. Being together all the time for a week would help him decide if this was going to work. He hoped so, but he wasn’t sure, knowing he wasn’t the easiest person to be around all the time. “I’ll bring this stuff up,” Justin offered. “Can you manage?” “I’m fine,” he laughed. Brian nodded. He pulled out his case and a spare for Justin. It took him ten minutes to pack. He glanced at Justin, who was trying everything on before he packed it. “Are they okay?” He asked. “They’re great.” Justin was thrilled. He felt as if this was the beginning of his life with Brian. Justin reached out and grabbed Brian’s hand, pulling him into an embrace. As he stood with his arms around his lover and his head pressed against Brian’s chest, Justin murmured softly. “Thanks for the clothes.” He looked up and Brian kissed him tenderly. Brian laughed. ”It was self serving. The ones you were wearing the last three days had had it. Did you call your Mom?” “She’ll be here at ten. Are you staying, or do you need to go to the office?” “I do need to go in, but if you want me to stay?” Brian asked. “You don’t need to,” Justin said softly. “I’ve never met a mother before,” Brian admitted. “My Mom’s cool, you’ll like her” Brian could tell Justin wanted him to meet his mother. “What about I go now and I’ll be back at twelve thirty. That way, if she’s still here, I’ll meet her then.” Justin hugged Brian tighter. “Thank you.” Brian pulled away. “I need to change,” he smiled. Justin continued packing while Brian dressed for work. As Justin finished, he glanced at Brian. “Fuck,” he gasped. “What?” Brian looked up. “You are so gorgeous. I’ve never seen you in a suit before.” Justin had always thought Brian was beautiful, but in Armani, Brian took his breath away. Brian smiled. “Hold the thought and you can take this off me later, piece by piece.” “I’ll keep you to that,” Justin laughed. Brian kissed Justin on the top of the head. “I’m counting on it. I need to go.” Justin nodded. He looked at the clock. His Mom would be here soon. He closed his suitcase and put it on the floor near Brian’s. Justin struggled to make the bed. They couldn’t go away for a week and leave the place like a pig sty. He tidied up the living room, made a fresh pot of coffee and then did the dishes. Promptly at ten, his Mom arrived. When he opened the door, she gasped. “Justin, what happened?” “Come in Mom.” “Whose place is this?” Jennifer had been a realtor for two years. She knew about inner city property and this place was expensive. The furnishings were all imports too. What was Justin doing here? “A friend,” Justin smiled. “Coffee?” Jennifer Taylor nodded. What was going on here? She knew Justin would clam up if she cornered him. She would find out a lot more if she remained calm… easier said than done. Jennifer sat on the sofa beside her son, waiting for answers. “I met Brian a few months ago.” “Brian?” “A friend Mom, listen and let me tell you.” Jennifer nodded. “I met Brian a few months ago,” Justin continued. “The minute I saw him, I knew he was the one.” Jennifer swallowed hard, but didn’t interrupt this time. “Every time I saw him, something happened to keep us apart, but Friday night, we finally got together.” “Together?” She asked, nervously. Justin stared at her. “I’m not giving you a blow by blow, Mom,” Justin frowned. “Justin, you’re too young to be…” “Falling in love?” Justin smiled. “Justin, it isn’t love, honey,” Jennifer sighed. “What is it, Mom?” “Honey, it’s only natural you would be curious,” Jennifer said. “Mom, I’m not curious, I know. I love Brian and I want to be with him.” “But honey…” “No buts, Mom. I’m not a child, I’m a man. I may not be with Brian for the rest of my life, but I hope so,” Justin smiled. “You can’t live my life for me. As long as it feels right to be with him, I will be.” “Did he do that to you honey? Did he hurt you?” Justin took her hand. “Brian would never hurt me, Mom. I hurt him. I lied to him. I was so scared of losing him; I tried to make him do what I wanted.” Jennifer was worried. “But you’re the one who’s hurt.” “I was hit in the eye by accident. I was holding Brian and he was trying to get away from me. I wouldn’t have it seen to and I passed out and hit my head in the kitchen. That’s what happened. Brian got the doctor to stitch up my eye and he gave me a certificate for school, so I can still graduate. I gave it to Daphne to hand in for me. I can’t go to school like this.” “But if he hit you Justin?” Jennifer objected. “He didn’t hit me, Mom. He was trying to get away from me. I hurt him and I was holding him down at the time.” She saw his mother cringe. “Would you rather I lie to you? I thought you would understand,” Justin sighed. “I’m trying to, Justin.” “We’re going away for a week to get to know each other.” “No way,” Jennifer gasped. “Mom, I’m not asking you. Brian and I ARE going away, that isn’t open for discussion.” “Justin, you can’t go anywhere with him. You don’t even know him.” “And you do?” “Look honey,” Jennifer sighed. She had to make her son understand. “You might think Brian is the one for you, but going away with a stranger is dangerous.” “He isn’t a stranger to me, Mom,” Justin smiled. “Where are you going?” “It’s a surprise. but I’ll send you a message when we arrive so you won’t worry.” Jennifer didn’t like anything about this. This guy had hit her son and messed up his face and now he was whisking Justin away somewhere when he should be at school. She couldn’t stop him, he was eighteen, but she wasn’t going to be happy about it. Justin could see him Mom was less than thrilled. He needed to make her understand. “Mom, who was your first love?” “Peter Lincoln,” she sighed. “How old were you when you met him?” Jennifer knew instantly what Justin was doing. “Justin it isn’t the same.” “Humor me,” Justin smiled. “How old were you?” “Seventeen.” “Did you have sex with him?” “Justin!” She gasped. “Okay, don’t answer that, but keep it in mind,” Justin laughed. “Did you love him?” “Yes.” “Did Gran and Pop like him?” “No.” “What were their reasons?” “They thought I was too young,” Jennifer shrugged. “Did you ever go away with him?” “Yes." They went to Aspen, before college started. She was making Justin’s case. “What did Gran say about that?” Justin pressed on. “She wasn’t happy. She didn’t want me to go.” “But you went?” “Yes.” Jennifer shifted uncomfortably in her chair. The one word answers were driving Justin crazy, but she needed to understand where he was coming from. “How long were you together?” “Until I met your father.” “So, five years?” “Yes.” “And you loved him and you were happy until you loved someone else.” “Okay, I get it,” she sighed. “One last question,” Justin smiled. “Would it have made you happy if Gran had liked him, if she was nice to him, if she made an effort with him for you?” Jennifer frowned. Her mother had made her life miserable for years about Peter. She never thought Peter was good enough. They fought constantly. She was forced to sneak out to meet him, hating that she had to lie to keep the peace. She was so grateful her mother liked Craig and she could stop lying, it had broken her and Peter up. He was the love of her life and she traded that love for peace. It was the biggest mistake she ever made. She should have fought for Peter, stood up to her parents, fought for their love. Justin knew his mother was thinking. “I want to choose my own lover and Brian is it, for me. I love him, Mom and I want you to love him too,” Justin smiled. Jennifer knew she was whipped. When the door opened and Brian came back, she smiled. “Brian, this is my mother, Jennifer Taylor.” Justin smiled at his lover. Brian smiled and shook her hand. “I’m pleased to meet you Mrs. Taylor.” Jennifer smiled. “Call me Jennifer, please.” Brian looked at Justin. He wasn’t sure what he was walking into. She seemed friendly enough, but she was Justin’s mother. “Justin’s told me almost nothing about you except he loves you,” she smiled. Brian looked at Justin amazed. “You told your Mom you loved me?” “Well I do,” Justin smiled. Brian smiled too. Justin looked at his mother.” I’ll give you five minutes to grill him and then we have to go. Okay?” Jennifer smiled. “Okay.” Justin disappeared into the bedroom and Jennifer patted the seat alongside her. “Sit, we have four and a half minutes left,” she smiled. Brian sat down nervously. “What do you want to know?” “Do you care about my son?” “Yes.” “Do you promise me to take care of him and keep him safe?” Brian nodded. “How old are you?” “Thirty.” He ordinarily wouldn’t admit his age, but this was Justin’s mother. “What do you do for a living?” “I’m in advertising, Jennifer, single and I like Justin a lot.” “He likes you too,” she smiled. “I won’t pretend that I’m not worried about him, Brian, I am. But Justin tells me, you make him happy and as long as Justin is happy, so am I. He’s pretty happy at the moment. Where are you taking him anyway?” Brian smiled. She wasn’t what he expected. “Vermont. There’s a guesthouse my secretary found. It’s supposed to be beautiful. It sounded like a good place for him to heal,” he paused. “I didn’t mean to hurt him.” “Justin explained what happened,” Jennifer shrugged. “Was it really an accident, Brian?” “Yes, I would never consciously hurt him Jennifer. I’ve never been in a relationship before,” Brian paused again. “I don’t even know if can be in one, but Justin makes me want to try,” Brian smiled. “Two more questions, if you don’t mind? How long have you been gay?” Brian smiled. “All my life.” “Is Justin gay?” “Yes Jennifer, he is,” Brian nodded. “Thank you for answering my questions, Brian. I love my son. I want him to be happy.” “I feel the same way,” Brian smiled. ******** Justin was in the bedroom the phone. “Thanks Gran. I think she understands now.” “I just want you to happy, Jussy. I should never have interfered in your mother’s life when she was younger. Everyone has the right to choose their own partner. I was wrong, but I thought I knew everything then.” Justin laughed. “I’m too old to be Jussy anymore.” “You will always be my little boy," she laughed. "Tell me about your young man?” “Gran, he’s wonderful and I love him a lot,” Justin smiled. “He’s gorgeous and kind and he makes me feel so happy. He’s taking me away for a week.” “Where?” “It’s a surprise.” “Ah, he’s a romantic then,” she giggled. “I’m about to find out,” Justin laughed too. “I want to find out everything about him. He’s perfect.” “No one’s perfect, Jus. Don’t expect him to be," she warned. "Accept him and love him, praise his strengths and help him with his weaknesses, but don’t loose yourself. If you get lost in him, then you’ll be no good to him or yourself.” “I’d better get back before Mom terrorizes him, Gran.” Justin was pleased with his Gran's advice. She was a pretty wise lady. “Have a good time Jus, and be safe, it isn’t an easy path you’ve chosen my boy. That’s the end of my lecture, so have a good time, honey.” “Thanks Gran, for everything.” Justin hung up the phone. He walked downstairs and found Brian and his mother, amicably chatting. “It’s a great piece of property, Brian,” Jennifer smiled. “I thought so when I bought it. It's been four years now and I’ve never regretted it,” Brian paused. “Though at the time, I was over-extended for a few months. I’ve always liked property as an investment.” “We have to go,” Justin smiled. “I believe we have a flight at three.” “I’ll drive you both to the airport,” Jennifer offered. “Do you have clothes, Justin? Do we need to go by the house, honey?” “Brian bought me everything I’d need.” Jennifer glanced at Brian. It was obvious Brian was more than comfortable, but she sensed Justin wasn’t interested in him for his money. He was gorgeous. Her son had good taste in men…rich, handsome, successful, Brian was all those things and more. Jennifer hoped the age difference wouldn’t be too much for them. As she drove them to the airport, she realized she had never seen her son so happy, so comfortable with anyone. When she dropped them off, she watched them walk hand in hand into the terminal. ******** The guesthouse was hidden from the highway by heavy woodland and nestled against a group of gentle, rolling hills. It was expensive and elegant, with meals either served in their room or in the courtyard by their private pool. Brian had chosen this place, so Justin could recuperate in complete privacy. It was also a place where they would be together every second. They would certainly know if they were compatible after a week of twenty four hours a day together. Brian was pleased Justin liked the hideaway. It wasn’t the sort of place he would usually go to, but it wasn’t the sort of holiday he would normally want. They checked in and explored the grounds, then later, in the privacy of their room, Justin kept his promise. He undressed Brian slowly, making him feel like he was being unwrapped. As Justin’s fingers slowly ran across his bare flesh, Brian found himself quivering with delight. Justin always knew how to intensify his every sensation and exploring his body with his tongue was Justin’s specialty. Justin would only allow him to come when he couldn’t take it anymore and when his orgasm passed, Justin continued until he couldn’t take it anymore, again. After hours of never ending pleasure, his lover finally lapped at his entry causing Brian to lose what little control he had left. He hadn’t intended for Justin to fuck him again. After what happened the last time, Brian felt it was better to be traditional…that was until Justin touched him. Surrendering to Justin was effortless. There was no conflict. Brian gave himself willingly, knowing in his heart that this was the only man who could truly satisfy his needs. After Justin prepared him thoroughly, Brian was relieved to finally feel Justin inside him. His pleas for more were constant, making Justin lose control and pushing him over the edge as well. Knowing his lover was no longer suppressing anything was intoxicating. Brian boldly asked for what he wanted and Justin’s lingering doubts disappeared. Brian truly belonged to him. In the early hours of the morning, Justin held Brian while he slept peacefully. He knew his lover was exhausted, as was he, but as tired as he was, Justin refused to sleep. He didn’t want this night to be over. They had six days left and he intended to enjoy every moment. He held Brian tighter and when he finally fell asleep, their bodies remained close. The next day, Justin’s face was feeling better. They made love, ate, swam, and made love again until they were both so sore, sex was out of the question. Considering their circumstances, lying together beside the pool was the only option and they moved from passion to intimacy easily. Brian enjoyed Justin close to him, so the hours they spent in each others arms weren’t wasted. Brian knew eventually Justin would ask questions about his life and now they had thoroughly exhausted sex as a means of communication, the time for disclosure was fast approaching. It wasn’t as if he didn’t enjoy talking to Justin, he did, but had never been comfortable discussing his past. There were too many painful memories to dwell on. Debbie, Vic and of course Lindsay and Michael, had been his family for years now, but his real family was very different. They weren’t close. In fact, Brian had gone out of his way to distance himself from them. Any contact with his parents was brief and usually instigated by his father needing money or his mother complaining about his father and/or sister. Claire had a failed marriage to her credit, complete with a ‘deadbeat father for her two, twisted and psychologically damaged children. She, like his father, had no problem borrowing money from him regularly; money Brian knew would never be repaid. His family’s financial irresponsibility annoyed him almost to the point of distraction. After meeting Jennifer Taylor, who was well-groomed, well spoken, well mannered and obviously well-educated, Brian wondered how he would explain his family was a tribe of barbarians. He’d worked hard to elevate his status and move as far away from them as possible. His parents were not role models for him to aspire to, by any stretch of the imagination. They were more like an example of what to run away from, screaming. He’d told Justin once, he didn’t need his parent’s approval which he believed, but every child deserved their parent’s love and acceptance, something he’d never experienced. It was obvious Jennifer loved her son; just by the way she looked at him. When Brian looked into his mother’s eyes, they were cold and unfeeling. As a man, he was used to it, but as a child, the pressure of always being a disappointment, weighed heavily on him. Just once, he wished his mother had been supportive or interested in his achievements. Every child should be entitled to ‘once’. His mind moved to Lindsay and her desire for him to father her child. How could he? He didn’t even know what a father was. As much as he would love to see the look on Melanie’s face if he said ‘yes”, was he fit to be a father? His father wasn’t and it had affected him. For the perverted pleasure of making Mel look at his face for the rest of her days, could he really be responsible for passing on 'the defective parenting gene' and destroying his own child’s life? Was it fair for a child to have to overcome their genetic code as he had always struggled to do? As much as he didn’t want to disappoint Lindsay, for the sake of the child, he had no choice but to say ‘no’. Justin could see Brian was deep in thought and the pained expression on his lover’s face told him it was serious. He ran his hand across Brian’s chest, silently showing his support. Brian looked down and kissed the top of Justin’s head, “I thought you were sleeping,” he said softly. “I was, but I could feel your brain in overdrive.” “Mmmm,” Brian said softly. “Are you enjoying yourself?” “Yes,” Brian smiled and hugged Justin tightly. If Justin was here with him, he was. He was pleasantly surprised how appealing the quietness was. He usually liked things busy, with lots of things happening to ward off the boredom, but here with Justin, the peace was nice and he was never bored. Having Justin’s body close to fulfill his every desire wasn’t half bad either. Justin smiled. He knew how hard it was for Brian to admit how he was feeling. “Is there anything you want to do?” Justin asked. “You,” Brian smiled. “But that may not be possible.” “We just can’t fuck all the time,” Justin laughed. “Why not?” Justin frowned. Is that all Brian wanted him for? Sure, sex with Brian was great, but since they’d been here, they’d barely spoken. He’d hoped Brian would at least want to talk at some stage. He liked to talk. In fact, he usually prattled on for hours, but Brian’s one word answers were hard to string into a conversation. Brian felt Justin stiffen. Was he in pain? “What’s up?” Now Justin wasn’t sure how to ask for what he wanted and did he have any right to demand Brian give him details of his life? He wanted to get to know his lover better. If sex was all Brian was interested in, they could have just gone to Babylon every night. “Why did you bring me here?” “So you could recuperate,” Brian smiled. “And to fuck your brains out, morning, noon and night,” he laughed. Justin remained silent. Brian was surprised when Justin didn’t say anything. There was no mistake, something was wrong. Had Justin changed his mind? Was he bored with him already? Would he rather be doing something else? Brian could feel the disappointment churning inside him. He rolled Justin off him and stood up. This was a mistake. Opening himself up to this was mad. “I need to do some work,” he said coldly and walked inside. Justin sat up. What just happened? It felt like winter suddenly rolled in and everything turned to ice. Brian fired up his laptop and checked his emails. He knew it wouldn’t work. He should have stuck with what was working and left it alone. Bringing Justin here was a mistake. No matter how sexually compatible they were, he was supposed to be alone. Sooner or later, he knew Justin wouldn’t want him around all the time. It just happened to be sooner than he expected. Eventually, he always rubbed everyone the wrong way, but he was okay with that. That was just the way he was. Justin stood up and followed Brian. He walked over to where Brian was sitting and closed his laptop. “The last time we had a misunderstanding, I ended up with this.” He pointed to his eye. “So we can both save the grief,” he paused. “Do you want to tell me what just happened?” Brian looked up at Justin’s swollen face. “We can go back if you want.” “I don’t want to go back. I want to be with you.” Brian was confused. “I didn’t think you wanted to be here.” Justin sat on Brian’s lap. “What made you think that?” “I didn’t think you were happy.” “The only thing I’m not happy about is that we don’t do more of this,” he smiled. “What?” “Talk, I want to get to know you better.” Brian was relieved. “You might not like me, few people do.” “I already love you, so I have a vested interest in trying. I want to understand why you think it’s best to push me away all the time, why you are so afraid.” There was no point denying it. He was afraid. “I don’t like to talk about some things,” Brian admitted. “Let’s start with something easy then,” Justin smiled. “What sort of music do you like?” They spent the afternoon talking about music and art, and the conversation flowed easily to Brian’s work. Sometimes, Justin felt he was pushing for details, but each Brian tried to avoid something, he would tap his eye and Brian would open up. The conversation continued through supper and afterwards, they made love under the stars. As they lay in each other’s arms in the moonlight, Brian was happy Justin had come after him. He wasn’t used to people pushing him, usually preferring to tell them to fuck off, but Justin’s eye was a multicolored reminder of a misunderstanding, a time when they both wanted the same thing, but he wasn’t listening. Until they knew each other better, if they were going to disagree, they should be sure it was a real disagreement. The next day, Justin told Brian about his father. Brian could see how hurt Justin was about his father’s attitude. He explained how close their family had always been and how shocked he was when his father couldn’t accept his choices. Jennifer sounded like the sort of mother you saw on TV in the sitcoms and Brian wondered what it would be like to have a mother like that. He’d seen first hand how understanding she was. He knew it was his turn to reciprocate, so he told Justin about college, his relationship with Michael and Lindsay and some of the things ‘the cow’ had done, to drive him crazy over the years. They talked at length about their dreams and where they wanted their careers to take them. It took another two days before Brian finally told Justin about his family and what it had been like growing up in the Kinney household. Justin hated Brian’s parents for what they’d done to him. Brian was affectionate and loving, so growing up in a house like that, must have been torturous for his lover. It helped him understand Brian’s fear of rejection and his lover’s constant need to control everything. No child should ever be forced to endure what Brian had. They lay by the pool, Justin holding Brian tightly. “Do ever see yourself having children?” Justin asked. “With my history, not likely,” Brian laughed. “You?” Justin smiled. “I’d like to have kids some day. I think teaching a child how to be a good person would be rewarding.” “You need to know what a good person is first,” Brian laughed again. Justin held Brian tighter. “I known what a good person is,” he said softly. “I couldn’t love someone if they weren’t a good person. It would be exciting to feed that love into a child together. To shape something innocent and pure to be the best he or she could be,” Justin continued. “To instill values and standards you were proud of and to produce something so wonderful and individual, that was a part of both of you,” Justin smiled. Brian was impressed with Justin’s idealism, but it wasn’t practical. “It doesn’t work out that way,” he sighed. “Yes it can, Brian,” Justin said confidently. “It’s no different to other goals. It just depends how important it is to you.” “I couldn’t do it,” Brian paused. “I wouldn’t know where to start.” Justin laughed. “That’s what you have me for, but you’d be fine. You know what not to do. You know what you needed and didn’t get. As long as you love them, a child will always have what they need.” Brian sat up. “Are you saying you want us to have a child?” “When we’re ready,” Justin smiled. “Imagine how wonderful it will be to contribute to the world? Family is the one thing that always belongs to you and no one can ever take that away. Bad parents, like yours, don’t deserve to have a child’s love, but being a good parent gives you a living, breathing example of your achievements, something you can be proud of.” Brian put his head on Justin’s chest and nestled close to him again. For someone so young, Justin was old, really old. His ideals were something to aspire to. Over the past couple of days, a few times Brian had thought how happy he was that Justin loved him, now he felt lucky. The weather was mild and they slept under the stars again. Everything seemed magical here and Brian didn’t want to go back. He wanted to stay here with Justin forever. Justin had been asleep for ages, but Brian couldn’t stop his mind from racing. Unable to sleep, Brian thought about Lindsay and wondered if this was his opportunity to have the child Justin had made sound so wonderful. Was it possible for him to be a positive influence in a child’s life? Raising a child would be a full time job and Brian wondered how much time he could dedicate with the amount of hours he needed to work. Perhaps with Lindsay, they could have the pleasure, but share the responsibility. The next morning after breakfast, Justin noticed Brian was quiet again. He didn’t push. Brian had come so far. He was talking freely now and Justin was pleased how open his lover had been. Brian was entitled to a few private thoughts. They had made love that morning and Justin knew Brian was there with him completely, so he wasn’t worried about them. He wondered if Brian was thinking about when they went home. Lindsay’s request, coupled with Justin’s idealism; was looping around, over and over in Brian’s mind. He couldn’t stop thinking about it. When he felt Justin’s arm slide around him, he smiled, but as he looked over his shoulder, he saw the concern in his lover’s eyes. “You can always talk to me you know,” Justin said softly and pulled Brian closer. “Mmmm.” Brian nuzzled his head back against Justin’s shoulder. “We go home tomorrow.” “Yeah, I know. It’ll be hard to leave,” Justin sighed. “What happens then?” “What do you want to happen?” “I just want to be with you, it doesn’t matter where we are,” Justin smiled. Brian wasn’t sure what being with Justin would involve, but he wanted to try to make it work. This time had been perfect, but would it be the same when their lives collated into their time together? There were times when he was so happy being with Justin and other times when he didn’t know himself anymore. Just thinking about saying ‘yes’ to Lindsay wasn’t like him and not tricking wasn’t like him either. Having Justin around was changing him. The trouble was, when he was with Justin, he didn’t want to trick. The intimacy of being with the same person, felt warm and inviting and the prospect of raising a child with Justin didn’t seem far fetched. Not so long ago, he would run away screaming… in typical Kinney form...back to the life he secretly hated, back to being alone, back to a time before Justin, but he knew what he wanted. He’d found it with Justin. He’d always thought he craved variety, but perhaps he was only searching and too afraid to admit it. Keeping people at a distance had protected him from disappointment. It was always easier to hate something you feared you would never have. He’d lived his life a certain way for a long time now and what he’d been doing for the last ten days was very different. It wasn’t a small change. The change in him was vast, with far reaching implications. For one thing, he wanted to share his life with Justin. He wanted Justin to be waiting for him when he came home from work; to be in his arms every night and to wake up with him in the morning. As a self professed independent gay man, all the relationship bullshit he had found so offensive in the past was now desirable, almost craved for. If it was anyone else, he would have accused them of turning into a lesbian or worse, a dickless, self loathing fag. It suddenly became clear that his hatred of relationships was born out of fear he would never find one that met his needs. Could he accept gracefully that he’d changed, or would he throw away what he’d always wanted for the safety of what he knew? Fuck it, he thought. “When Lindsay came over that morning, she asked me question.” Justin waited. “She wants me to be the father of her child,” Brian said softly. “What do you think?” “You know what I think, but, what do you think?” Brian paused. “I think, I work a lot of hours and you’ll be in college for the next four years. I don’t think we have the time to be solely responsible for raising a child, but, Lindsay wants her and Mel to be the parents. They would do all the day to day stuff which would leave us with probably what we’d have time for,” he smiled. “Then, if I don’t fuck it up, we could give it another go later. That’s what I think.” He waited for Justin to say something. “You’re right,” Justin smiled. “You do work hard and I want a career after college, so it will be at least five or six years before I want a child of our own. This does sound like an opportunity though for us to have it all now. How will your feelings for Melanie affect this?” “I can never see me liking her,” Brian admitted. ”But she isn’t the one having the baby.” “It’s important your feelings for her never affect our child, Brian.” “I know. I can’t say I will ever agree with her, but I do think Lindsay will be a good mother and I wouldn’t refer to her as ‘the cow’ to my son,” Brian laughed. “A son, what if it’s a girl?” Brian spun around in Justin’s arms and grinned. “Then it will be a daughter.” Justin rolled his eyes. ******** “Brian,” Lindsay smiled as she opened the door. “You’re back. How was the break?” “Fine.” Brian walked past her. “Oh Justin,” Lindsay said surprised, as he followed Brian through the door. “I didn’t see you.” They were together, so Brian obviously still wanted Justin around. “It’s nice to see you again. How are you, Lindsay?” Justin smiled. “Well,” she smiled. “Come in.” “We’re already in. Are you making coffee?” Brian smirked as he walked towards the kitchen. Justin laughed. ”He makes himself at home, doesn’t he? Your place is lovely.” It was very eclectic but still cozy. “He does and thanks,” she laughed. As Brian walked into the kitchen, Melanie was sitting at the table. “I’ve decided to do what you can’t and knock up your wife,” Brian smirked. Lindsay and Justin followed him into the room just as the words left Brian’s lips. Justin rolled his eyes. Melanie stared at him in disbelief. “Oh Brian,” Lindsay squealed. “That’s wonderful.” She ran to hug him, showering his face with kisses. “I wasn’t thinking of now,” Brian scowled, pushing her off him. A kiss here and there was okay, but when she was excited, Lindsay was too much. Obvious displays of affection made him uncomfortable, unless he was the one initiating it. “No way he’s going to fuck you.” Melanie roared at her partner. “Get that right out of your head, asshole.” She glared at Brian. As if, Brian thought. Unperturbed, he pulled out a chair and sat down. “If you’re worried about her virtue…too late…been there, done that,” he smiled. Justin had never seen Brian so annoying. No wonder Melanie hated him. Melanie gathered herself together quickly. “She made a mistake in college, but one good thing came out of it. Fucking you convinced her she was gay and belonged to me,” Mel grinned. Justin cringed. She was as bad a Brian. “Ah well, we all make mistakes, you should know,” Brian sighed. “Anyway, I’m glad you realized a bull dyke can’t do a man’s job, no matter how big she thinks her balls are,” he laughed. “So, when do you want to do this, Linds?” he turned his back on Mel and smiled. “I should be ovulating soon. I’m keeping a chart so I’ll call you,” she smiled. Lindsay poured them all coffee while Melanie sat fuming. This couldn’t be happening. Why was he doing this? There wasn’t a chance she’d thought he’d agree. She glared at him again. It was to annoy her and he’d succeeded. Justin was uncomfortable with the amount of tension in the room, but Brian and Lindsay appeared unfazed. Was this normal? It must be, they were unaffected. He realized Melanie was looking at him. “Brian tells me you’re a lawyer,” Justin smiled, nervously. “And who the fuck are you?” She snapped. Mel glared at Brian again. ”This isn’t a backroom, leave your tricks at the door,” she laughed. “Mel,” Lindsay gasped. Brian wasn’t prepared for her to attack Justin. She usually concentrated her efforts on him and had caught him unaware. Before Brian could respond, Melanie stood up. “I have work to do. Don’t wait up.” She glared at Lindsay again and then left them all in silence. When the door slammed, Lindsay turned to Justin. “I’m so sorry,” she stammered. Justin tried to smile. He wasn’t expecting to being the object of an attack of such venomous proportions, especially one which was meant for somebody else. It wasn’t even that she thought he was a trick. The hatred in her voice had startled him. “Charming woman you live with, Linds,” Brian growled, fighting the urge to go after ‘the cow’ and kill her. Justin decided putting Lindsay in the middle wasn’t the answer. “No big deal,” he shrugged then smiled. “I’m excited about the baby.” “So am I,” Lindsay said softly. She was waiting for the explosion. Brian would retaliate, he always did. He was stewing and she knew it. Justin noticed Brian still hadn’t said anything. This couldn’t be good. “Which do you prefer? Boy or girl?” “Healthy is fine,” Lindsay smiled. Brian continued fuming… How he hated her! He’d tolerated her for Lindsay’s sake, but no more. There was no way his child should have to tolerate someone like her in his life. Lindsay deserved better. He stood up. “We need to go. Let me know when your temperature spikes.” He looked at her and for the first time saw she was upset. Brian raised one eyebrow, pulled her into his arms and kissed her gently. ”I love you, Linds.” “I know, I love you too, Brian,” she whispered. “I’m so sorry. I don’t know why she does that?” “Forget it.“ Brian shrugged. Justin was surprised how open Brian was with her. Justin kissed her too and they left. Brian held Justin’s hand, but wasn’t talking. He dropped Justin at his mother’s place and went to the office. ******* Jennifer was pleased to see her son in one piece and looking a lot more like himself now most of the swelling had subsided. When she asked about his plans, Justin wasn’t sure what to say. Although they had talked about being together, Justin wasn’t sure what that meant. Were they just dating? Would they move in together? Brian fathering Lindsay’s child had been agreed on, even though Lindsay’s partner seemed less than thrilled. Melanie Markus was nothing like he expected. She was abrasive and cold. Justin wondered if she was always like that. Brian’s behavior towards Melanie was unexpected as well. Was she awful because Brian taunted her, or did he taunt Melanie because she was awful? Now there was to be a child, there was certainly time to figure out which alternative was the truth, but Justin was concerned ‘the war’ would eventually effect Brian’s baby. Brian had seemed distracted after Melanie had been rude to him. Justin was used to Brian’s responses now and knew his lover was angry. Melanie attacking Brian was one thing. It was obvious Brian didn’t care and could hold his own with her, but attacking him, a person she hadn’t even met yet, was something else entirely. Maybe they just caught her at a bad time, but Justin wasn’t so sure. There was also the small matter of Brian and Lindsay and their past. It was obvious they were together at one time, which surprised him. Brian had never said anything about being straight, although he did admit he and Lindsay were close. Were they still doing it? Was that what Melanie was so angry about? Brian said he’d call when he was finished at the office, so Justin called Daphne to tell her he was back. ******** When Melanie arrived home, Lindsay was already in bed. Mel looked at her watch. It was only eight thirty. She shook Lindsay gently, perhaps her partner was ill. “Linds, are you okay?” Lindsay opened her eyes. “What?” “Baby, what’s wrong?” Melanie asked, concerned. Lindsay stared at her partner for a moment. This was typical of Mel. She thought she could do anything and always start with a fresh page. “Why were you so rude to Justin?” “Who the fuck is Justin?” Mel snapped. “The guy with Brian.” “Since when, is it okay for that asshole to bring a trick into our home?” “Justin isn’t a trick, he’s a friend,” Lindsay growled. “You embarrassed me.” “I embarrassed you,” Mel gasped. “Everything that asshole does is okay, isn’t it? I have to put up with him constantly rubbing my face in the fact you two fucked in college and you never say a word to him.” Lindsay rolled her eyes. Not this shit again, she thought. “Why are you so insecure? I’m with you and Brian is gay. I will always care about him, I can’t change that. I don’t want to. You are friends with every woman you’ve ever fucked and that’s okay. What about last Tuesday? You had your tongue down Celine’s throat.” “Only because I’d had too much to drink,” Melanie yelled in her own defense. “I know that, but it isn’t the first time. Celine never misses an opportunity to remind me the two of you had an affair. I forgave you, I don’t get jealous, I know you want to be with me,” she sighed. Melanie glared at Lindsay. “Don’t tell me who I can have as friends.” “My point exactly.” “You’re a lesbian. I don’t see why you want a man around you. He was a mistake.” “This is all about him being a man, isn’t it?” Mel had always been a man hater. “I hate that asshole and you shove him in my face every chance you get,” Melanie roared. “No Mel, Brian may have started it this time, but what about all the other times. He put up with your crap for two years before he began retaliating. Now, Brian only gives as good as he gets. He’s my friend and you are horrible to him every chance you get.” “I’m horrible,” Mel gasped. She wanted that asshole out of their lives. “I don’t want to fight all the time,” Lindsay sighed. “Brian has agreed to help us. Please Mel, can’t you just be happy. You want a child and Brian is making that possible.” “I am happy.” Melanie knew she should back off. Once that asshole did his thing and the baby was born, she would make partner. If he wasn’t long gone by then, she would take custody of their child and fuck Lindsay off too. “I’ll have the papers drawn up.” “What papers?” “He has to relinquish his parental rights, so I can be the other official parent,” Mel smiled. “Our child needs two parents.” Lindsay nodded. “I think we should wait until after I’m pregnant. If Brian knows that’s what you want, he’ll never agree to it.” “That’s my point, Linds. He goes out of his way to annoy me. He has no intention of being a father and he wouldn’t sign the papers, purely to annoy me.” Lindsay wished Brian would want to be involved with their child, but she knew he had no interest in children. A child needed two loving parents. Justin seemed excited though. Perhaps he was a better choice, she smiled. His attitude was obviously better. She prayed for a girl. Melanie’s man-hating habits would be a problem if they had son. She thought about Justin again. No matter how attractive Justin was, the idea of having a child with a child made her feel uncomfortable. She and Brian would produce a beautiful child and if she gave it all the love she didn’t get when she was young, their baby would be happy and well-adjusted. “I think he should sign the papers first, before you get pregnant.” Maybe if she pushed the point now, the asshole would change his mind and they could use a donor instead. “Don’t make me say, forget the whole thing, Mel. If you crowd Brian and he changes his mind, I won’t go through with it,” Lindsay warned. “We have an agreement.” “And Brian has said ‘yes’,” she smiled. “Don’t try and manipulate either of us or the deal is off.” Melanie knew she’d lost this one. Lindsay had her stubborn face on. ******** Brian didn’t ask Justin to formally move in with him, but there was no need. Justin was at his place all the time, so he was happy. While Justin would have preferred something a little more formal, but being with Brian was all that mattered. He fussed over Brian, had his dinner ready when Brian came home from work and planned a different night of lovemaking every night. Brian’s work schedule was heavy, so coming home to Justin every night was wonderful. With no desire to trick, Brian powered through his work. Suddenly, the day to day distractions were gone. Without them, it was possible to finish by six most nights and Brian was eager to come home to Justin. Apart from Lindsay, he didn’t think about anything aside from Justin and work and for the first time in his life, there was no pressure being Brian Kinney. Justin was consumed with baby thoughts and he and Lindsay shopped constantly. They bought a few things, but both we enjoying the opportunity to get to know each other and develop their relationship. Lindsay sang Justin’s praises because he always supported and made time for her, while Justin was happy to have someone to ask questions about why Brian did some of the things he did. They became fast friends. Justin was surprised how accepting Lindsay was of his lover. It wasn’t as if he challenged Brian often, but when Brian was wrong, Justin told him so. Lindsay however, allowed Brian to do and say whatever he pleased, with no ramifications. In Justin’s eyes, justifying or ignoring poor behavior was unacceptable. He held Brian to higher standard and Brian didn’t disappoint him. Brian’s verbal taunting of Mel almost disappeared and Justin was proud his lover was the bigger man. Justin knew Brian couldn’t stand her, but he refused to be drawn into her bullshit. Brian got the call on Thursday afternoon. Lindsay’s temperature was up and it was time. He called Justin and discovered he was already there. Brian smiled as he drove over. Justin and Lindsay were inseparable these days. He was grateful for all the help his friend was giving his lover. Lindsay’s experience as an art teacher would be invaluable to Justin. When he arrived, he was surprised to find Lindsay in tears, wrapped in his lover’s arms. “What’s up,” he asked. “Temperature dropped already?” Brian sat down in the chair facing them. Justin hugged her tighter as she wept. “Melanie can’t make it, she has a meeting.” Brian scowled. He’d just left a client in the middle of a presentation to come here. Fucking selfish cow, he thought. “We don’t need her,” he shrugged. “How were you going to do it?” “Mel thought we’d use a syringe.” “Good, we can still do that,” Brian smiled. “I can’t do it myself,” Lindsay wailed. “And I’ll never hear the end of it if you do it. “We’ll have to wait till next month,” she sobbed. Justin glanced at Brian, waiting for his lover to solve their problem. “Well Sunshine,” Brian smiled. “You’re about to get an education. You go with Linds and do all the things she was gonna do with ‘the cow’. I’ll be up in a few minutes. Justin was scared, but stood up and pulled Lindsay to her feet. “Justin we can’t.” Justin smiled. “Sure we can. Come on Linds,” he said, reassuringly. “Brian…I,” Lindsay hesitated. “Go,” Brian ordered. Lindsay took Justin upstairs. Could she go through with this? If she waited another month, Brian may change his mind. She opened the door to her bedroom and led Justin inside. “This feels strange,” she said softly. Justin pulled her into his arms. “Children should be conceived out of love Linds, and Brian and I do love you. We’re gonna have the most perfect baby,” he smiled. He wanted this to be a wonderful memory for her. He kissed her on the nose. “You get ready.” Lindsay nodded. She was happy Justin was here with her, but nervous what Mel would say about it. Mel wouldn’t be happy about this at all. Justin was right though, children should be conceived in a loving environment. Besides, there was no guarantee of falling pregnant the first time, so if this wasn’t successful, there would be no need to tell Mel anything at all. Lindsay emerged from the bathroom, wearing her robe and smiled. Justin had drawn the curtains and lit all the candles that were spread all over the room. The air was sweet and he stood there, smiling at her. “Is this okay?” he asked. “It’s lovely, thank you. What happens next?” She asked. Justin took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “I’m not sure. I have no experience to draw from. I’ve read about it, but I’ve never actually done it before.” “Brian is the only man I’ve ever been with and we were both really drunk at the time,” she admitted. “It was okay because we cared about each other, but it wasn’t amazing,” Lindsay sighed. “It was nice, but there was no real passion.” “Do you really want to use a syringe? Brian could fuck you?” Justin asked softly. “No, Brian wouldn’t want that. I would like him to hold me though, while you…” She paused. “Jus, are you sure you don’t mind?” “You’re a beautiful woman, Linds. I’m good with it, I promise,” Justin lied. He was scared and would rather Brian fuck her than he put a syringe inside her. It had to be done, though, for them to have what they wanted. He sat on the bed beside her while they waited for Brian. Brian walked up the stairs. He opened the bedroom door and saw Justin and Lindsay waiting for him. They both looked freaked. He smiled at Lindsay. “We’ll be back in a minute.” He grabbed Justin’s hand and pulled him into the bathroom. Brian closed the door. “Is she okay?” “I think so, but Brian, I don’t know what to do,” Justin admitted. Brian laughed. “It isn’t difficult, I promise, no experience necessary. I come and you put it in the syringe then you squirt the jizz up her.” He frowned. “What’s with all the candles anyway?” “I don’t want it to be cold and unfeeling,” Justin paused. “I want our baby to have better.” “I’m not fucking her.” He looked at his lover. “You don’t expect me to, do you?” Brian said softly. “I already asked her and she said ‘no’.” He felt like a sacrificial lamb to be offered up on the alter of the quest for the perfect experience. He was glad Lindsay had said ‘no’. he’d always prided himself that he could always fuck, but this wasn’t what he meant. “Now what?” He asked cautiously. “Kiss her and hold her, make it special, Brian. She’s so tense. That can’t be good, she needs to relax. You concentrate on her and I’ll concentrate on making sure there’s something to collect.” Brian nodded. He’d fully intended for Justin to suck him off in the bathroom, blow in a cup and Justin to squirt it inside her, no frills, efficient and fast. He remembered how much Lindsay liked to be held. It wouldn’t kill him. He’d held her thousands of times. It was the least he could do for his child’s mother to be comfortable. Brian stripped off to his shorts. “Okay?” Justin nodded and opened the door. When Lindsay saw Brian, she held her breath. He was still gorgeous, even after all these years. They would make a beautiful child together. “Hey,” she said nervously. Brian walked towards her. “Hey yourself,” he paused. “Justin suggests, our baby deserves a moment,” he smiled. “You don’t have to,” she said softly. Brian pulled Lindsay into his arms. “I know I don’t, but Justin’s right. I love you, Linds. I’ll always love you, you know that, don’t you?” he smiled. “I know,” she smiled. “Let’s get this baby made.” Brian kissed her softly at first and as she melted into his arms, his kisses increased in gusto. Although it had been a long time since he’d touched her, it was still familiar. He didn’t feel the urgency he felt when he was with Justin, but it was still nice. Endless nights together in front of the TV when they weren’t studying, came flooding back to him. Even after their failed attempt to be straight and they were both sure they were gay, they still huddled together often. The intimacy he shared with Lindsay was perfect, except there was no passion. They took comfort from each other then and now Brian could feel all the old feelings returning. She was the most loving and caring woman he’d ever known. Linds would make a terrific mother. As his lips brushed against her neck, he laid her down onto the bed and kissed her over and over. He was hard, but in no hurry until he felt Justin slide down his shorts and take hold of his cock. From the minute he felt Justin’s touch, it only took a few pumps for him to come. Justin collected every drop and carefully drew it into the syringe. He was nervous as his fingers searched out her opening. Slowly, he inserted the syringe and depressed the contents inside her. Brian was surprised how aroused her kisses were making him. His cock was hard again. “Should we do it again?” he panted. “Mmmm,” Lindsay moaned. She was amazed at the effect being with Brian and Justin was having on her. She was so fucking horny. As her fingers slid down searching for relief, Justin watched with interest. Listening to the sounds she was making and seeing her touch herself was making him hard too, but when he saw Brian crouch over her, he couldn’t stop himself. Justin slid his fingers down between Brian’s cheeks, searching for his entry. “Oh godddd, Jus,” Brian moaned when Justin slid a finger inside him. His kisses became more intense and he wound his arms around Lindsay, pulling her close. She lifted her legs around his waist, making him hesitate for a moment, but when Justin slid another finger inside him, Brian was lost. He was close; there was no time to stop. He murmured. ”I have to, Linds, I can’t wait.” He looked into her eyes for permission. She nodded for him to hurry and as he pushed inside her, she cried out. “Oh Brian.” Her orgasm started in her toes and raced through her body. She came over and over, not just from Brian fucking her, but from knowing Justin was inside Brian as well. She’d never seen Brian so out of control before. Justin was definitely the one for him. A few thrusts later and Brian was coming again, overwhelmed Justin was inside him. Justin knew he should stop, but he didn’t want to. This was so hot. He sheathed up and positioned himself behind his lover. He pushed inside Brian in one movement. Brian was still coming down from his orgasm when Justin filled him completely. He cried out and devoured Lindsay’s lips, pushing his tongue into her mouth. As Justin thrust into him over and over, Brian’s cock shot to attention again and when Justin slammed his prostate with his final thrusts, Brian was coming all over again. When Justin withdrew, he removed the condom, tied it off and slipped it into his pocket. Brian and Lindsay were still joined and breathing heavily. Brian had just come three times in a very short space of time and Justin knew his lover was exhausted. He looked at the clock, it was almost six. He tucked his cock back into his pants and tidied up the room. Blowing out the candles, he turned on the lamp. “Brian,” he whispered and kissed the back of his lover’s neck, softly. “Wake up.” “Mmmm.” Brian opened one eye. “We need to go.” Brian opened his eyes completely and smiled. Lindsay was sleeping. If she wasn’t pregnant now, she would never be. He’d pumped buckets into her. He lifted up and gently disengaged himself. “I thought that went well,” he smiled and added. ”Thanks to you.” There was a moment there when he sensed what she wanted and didn’t think he would be able to accommodate her. “You’re welcome.” Justin smiled too. “What do you think?” “If she isn’t pregnant, it won’t be for lack of jizz,” Brian laughed. ”I don’t think I’ve come so much, so fast, in a long time.” “Should I be worried?” Justin said cheekily. Brian grabbed Justin and pulled him close. “It wouldn’t have happened without you. I was fine with the syringe until you were in my ass,” he laughed. “My ass, remember…you belong to me,” Justin grinned. “I thought you might be angry with me for doing it. I tried not to, but I couldn’t help it, Brian. You are so fucking hot,” he sighed. “If we ever go to another orgy, don’t, but this one worked out fine,” he smiled. “Lindsay wouldn’t have noticed, I was ramming her with nine inches at the time,” he laughed. “I didn’t intend to fuck her, but I nearly blew all over her stomach and that would have been a waste, considering the circumstances.” “True, now it’s late and I don’t think Linds will want to explain to Mel at the moment what we were doing in her bedroom.” “Possibly not,” Brian frowned. “She should have been here this afternoon, it was important.” Brian dressed quickly, deciding to have a shower at home. He kissed Lindsay softly as they were leaving. ”We’re going,” he smiled. Lindsay smiled back. “Thank you.” “Here’s hoping we don’t need a repeat performance,” Brian smirked. It was okay, but he couldn’t wait to get Justin home. ******** Two weeks later, Lindsay got the news she was pregnant. She’d been so sure that she’d demanded her doctor do a blood test. Excited, she raced over to Melanie’s office, but through the window, she saw her partner kissing Celine again. It was just like the night Brian fucked her. When Mel still hadn’t returned by nine, worried, she tried the office and there was no answer. Lindsay had called Mel’s secretary at home at ten and been told Mel had left at lunchtime and not returned. In the morning, Melanie claimed she and her secretary were stuck there till midnight. Lindsay knew Mel just let off steam with Celine, but it still hurt. Mel liked to be in total control and Lindsay found herself less inclined to allow Mel to hurt her these days. If Celine didn’t mind being used as a sexual punching bag then good for her, but Lindsay knew she had a baby to think about now. When Mel came home that night, Linds didn’t tell her and something had happened to stop her every night since. She often wondered these days why they were still together. Melanie was obsessed with her career and any spare time was spent fucking around so Lindsay suspected she was just a glorified housekeeper. Justin was over the moon and he and Lindsay shopped till they dropped. After two weeks, they had most of the nursery stuff. Mel was superstitious about getting anything for a baby before it was born, so they had everything delivered to the loft. Mel was working late again, but Lindsay was helping Justin with his painting, so she didn’t mind too much. Brian arrived a little later than usual to no dinner, the loft looking like a storage unit and Lindsay and Justin painting in his dining room. He walked past both of them to change. “What’s his problem?” Lindsay asked. “We may have to store the baby’s things somewhere else. The mess is driving him crazy,” Justin sighed. Lindsay nodded. Brian had never been a fan of clutter. They washed out their brushes and put their paintings away. When Brian came out of the shower, dinner was on the table and Justin and Lindsay were chatting. Brian smiled. Justin hadn’t forgotten him after all. He sat down and joined them. “What’s for dinner?” he smiled. “Your favorite of course,” Justin laughed. He enjoyed doting on Brian. “I invited Linds to stay, Mel’s working late.” “How often does she leave you alone?” Brian frowned. “She’s trying to make partner,” Lindsay said nervously. “But you’re pregnant,” Brian frowned again. “Only a month, I’m fine.” She brushed away his concern. ******** When Lindsay returned, Mel was already home. “Where were you?” “I spent the afternoon with Justin,” Lindsay smiled. “You two are best girlfriends these days,” she taunted. “Was the asshole there?” “Brian came home at seven. We ate and here I am.” Melanie looked at her watch, it was nine. “Does he still want to do it? It must nearly be time again. I’ve thought about it and I really think he should sign the papers before you fall pregnant,” she smiled. Lindsay held her breath. She hadn’t told her partner she was already pregnant. “I’ll bring them home with me tomorrow.” Melanie opened the refrigerator and scowled when she realized Lindsay hadn’t prepared her any dinner. “You’ve eaten?” “Yes,” Lindsay said softly. “But I’ll make you something now.” “Don’t bother, I’m too tired. I have an early meeting at seven. Did you pick up my dry cleaning?” “Yes Mel, but when will your schedule free up? Our child will never see you,” she gasped. “There’s no child yet,” Mel laughed. “And it will take a few months for you to fall pregnant. The way that asshole fucks around, his sperm will be piss weak. It may take a year,” she laughed again. The idea of being able to torment him about Lindsay not being pregnant, amused her. “Mel, I’m already pregnant,” Lindsay said softly. Melanie stared at her. “What? How?” “Justin was with me the day you couldn’t come home and he injected me with Brian’s sperm.” “He did what?” Melanie roared. “He didn’t mind,” Lindsay sighed. “I’m sure he didn’t fucking mind,” she yelled. How dare Lindsay allow some little faggot to touch her? “Don’t raise your voice at me, Mel. You wanted a child and we’re going to have a child.” “I wanted to be the one to inseminate you,” she roared again. “Then you should have come home,” Lindsay snapped. “I was working,” Mel snapped back. “Deidre and I were stuck there till midnight.” “So you said,” Lindsay scoffed. Melanie glared at her partner. “I’m working for our future,” she roared even louder. Lindsay shook her head. “No Mel, not that night. I rang and spoke to Deidre at home at ten. She told me, you left at lunch time. You were fucking around again, but don’t worry, I kept to the schedule, I’m pregnant.” Melanie glared at her again, but didn’t respond. She stormed upstairs; furious Lindsay had found her out. If the senior partner wasn’t a friend of Lindsay’s father, she would have kicked her out, years ago. Mel was trapped and she knew it. Lindsay poured a large glass of milk and sat on the sofa. What was she doing here? Any feelings of care and consideration between her and Mel were gone. Spending time with Justin was making her think. He doted on Brian and to her surprise, Brian did the same. She couldn’t remember Melanie ever caring for her that way. Mel was selfish and always needed to get her own way and as the years passed, she was barely more than a housekeeper. After the way Brian fucked her a month ago, she wasn’t even sure she was gay anymore. She knew there was no future, for her and Brian. It had taken Justin to be involved to really get them both excited. She wanted someone who wanted her with the same intensity Brian did that afternoon, without his lover’s cock in his ass. She decided to sleep on the sofa, not interested in hearing anymore of Mel’s bullshit for a while. ******** Justin lay with Brian, his mind thinking analysing Lindsay's relationship with Mel. “Do you think Linds is happy being with Melanie?” “It’s none of our business,” Brian said, without opening his eyes. “How can you say that, she’s carrying your child,” Justin gasped. “Linds needs to make her own decisions. You know how I feel about ‘the cow’. She treats Linds like a servant and Lindsay lets her. For the first two years they were together, I tried to get Lindsay to dump her. She wouldn’t listen. Mel fucks around and treats her like shit, but Lindsay stays. I don’t know why,” he shrugged. Brian pulled Justin on top of him. “Can we not talk about ‘the cow’, the mention of her makes my dick soft.” “We can’t have that," Justin laughed. He kissed Brian repeatedly. “Is that better?” “Getting there,” Brian smiled. They kissed a few more times, but the seed was already planted and he found his mind wandering back to Lindsay. Justin was right. He knew Lindsay was unhappy. She was just scared to make a change. After deciding to talk to her tomorrow, Brian pushed her from his mind and concentrated on Justin again. Lindsay couldn’t sleep. She laid thinking about the child she was carrying. Two loving parents was always her dream, but tonight, she couldn’t see Mel ever making the grade. As soon as something was more important, like fucking around, Mel would dump her with their child and take off. Mel was into power and prestige. She only wanted a child for what she thought a family would give her. Gareth Robinson, the senior partner at Mel’s firm, was old school and he’d only taken Mel on because of his friendship with her father. A family would be well received by Gareth. He liked all his partners to be married with kids. As a person, Mel was very different to Justin. Justin waited on her hand and foot. Lindsay knew Brian loved her and by the time the baby was born, he would be used to the idea, but Justin loved the baby so much already. Lindsay smiled. Justin would be a wonderful father. Was it too much to ask Justin to be the other half of her loving two parent family? He was so young. Was it fair? He already considered Brian’s child to be his own. Lindsay closed her eyes and tried to imagine what her life would be like without Melanie and with Justin in her place, as the baby’s father. ******** Lindsay was disturbed by the doorbell. She sat up, momentarily confused why she was on the sofa. When she opened the door, Brian was smiling at her. “You look like hell,” he said as he walked past her. “Thank you,” she frowned at him. “Is ‘the cow’ here?” Brian asked casually. “What time is it?” Lindsay still didn’t have her bearings. “Eight.” “She’s gone to the office already.” “Good. If I saw her, it would ruin my day,” Brian grinned. “She says the same about you. Why are you here?” “Justin is worried about you. He doesn’t think you’re happy.” Brian shrugged. Lindsay could see Brian was evaluating her responses. “I’m happy about the baby. I’ll tell him not to worry.” She staggered to the kitchen to put the coffee on. Brian looked at the sofa. It was obvious Lindsay had slept there last night. This was no way to live. He followed her to the kitchen. “What are you doing today?” “Justin and I are working on something, why?” She poured them both coffees. Brian took the cup out of her hand. “What are you doing? Are you trying to poison my child before he’s even born?” He grumbled. Lindsay was surprised. “He?” “Of course, he,” Brian laughed. “I already know you’re having a boy. Justin would rather a girl, but it’s a boy.” “Justin’s very excited, isn’t he?” “He’s the one who talked me into it. Justin, for some reason, thinks I’ll make a good father,” Brian smiled. “I wasn’t sure at first, but I'll find a way to make it work.” Lindsay was stunned. “You want to be the baby’s father?” she stammered. “That was me who fucked you that afrernoon, wasn’t it?” Brian scowled. “Is there some reason you don’t want me to be involved with this child?” Lindsay hugged him. “None, none at all. I didn’t think you’d want to. Brian, you’ve made me so happy.” Obviously, she had Justin to thank for this too. Brian smiled and held her tightly. “It isn’t mandatory, but you know what would make me really happy?” Lindsay looked up at him. Surely Brian didn’t want to fuck her again. “What?” “You are gonna be the mother of my son,” he started. “Yes.” “And I want to know you’re happy.” “Yeah,” she said nervously. “It’s time, Linds. You’re gonna have a baby. She treats you like shit. You deserve better, but if you want to put up with it, fine, consider though how that will affect our baby, please?” Brian sighed. “You want me to raise my baby alone?” “You won’t be alone. Justin and I will be with you. We won’t desert you. Fuck, even if I wanted to, which I don’t,” he laughed. “I couldn’t pry Justin away from you and junior here.” Brian patted her stomach playfully. Brian’s timing had always been perfect. How did he always know when she needed reassurance? As much as she wanted to make her relationship work, she’d been trying for eight years now, nine if she counted the time they spent together in college. The first year had been a happy time, but since Mel started working on her career, their lives had slowly careered downhill. Mel was using her; she had no choice but to accept the truth. “What are you suggesting?” “We get you your own apartment. You have my son and maybe a daughter for Justin later and we all live happily ever after.” “But I’m old enough to be his mother,” she gasped. “There aren’t too many twelve year olds out there having kids, at least I hope not,” Brian frowned. “Besides, Justin isn’t your average eighteen year old. How do you think he got me,” Brian laughed. “You must admit, he choreographs one hell of a moment. He even kept the syringe for posterity.” “He makes you happy, doesn’t he?” “Yep,” Brian grinned. “So, are we going apartment hunting?” Lindsay smiled. “I’ll get dressed.” Brian poured himself another cup of coffee. He’d thought he would have to drag her out of there, kicking and screaming. Finally, Linds had had enough, thank god. He was relieved ‘the cow’ would have no input into his child’s life. Brian dialed Justin’s cell. “Hey.” “You left early, what’s up?” Justin mumbled. “I’m at Lindsay’s. Do you want to come apartment hunting with us?” Justin sat up. Finally, he thought. “No need, I already found something perfect for her. She’ll love it. Get a truck, Brian, and move her out of that place today. I need to make a call, and when you bring her back here, we can go together.” “You’re quite the little organizer, aren’t you,” Brian laughed. “I’ve been so worried about her. I just wanted to be prepared in case she came to her senses,” Justin laughed. His instincts were right. Lindsay couldn’t have their child anywhere near that horrible woman. He’d hoped all this could be done and dusted before he started at PIFA. College would be busy and he wanted to know the people he loved were happy and settled, so he didn’t need to worry. “We’ll be there as soon as we sort out her stuff.” Brian closed his cell. When Lindsay came downstairs, she had two large suitcases with her. “Don’t carry that by yourself,” he glared at her. “Is that it?” “No, there are three boxes at the top of the stairs and everything in my studio. We can come back for them later.” “No, I want you out of here as fast as possible. We’ll take them with us,” he smiled. “It won’t all fit in your car, Brian.” She shook her head. “That’s why I hired something bigger,” he laughed. “I’ll sort out some more boxes and you collect anything you want from here. How many more do you need; I have plenty in the truck.” Lindsay laughed. Once Brian decided, things always happened quickly. “About four, but what about furniture?” “If you love, take it, if not, we’ll buy new.” He looked around the room. It was an eclectic collection of crap.” I would prefer my child was raised in tasteful surroundings.” This house had never had much of Lindsay in it anyway. The cow controlled everything, including what Lindsay wore. In the last few years, his beautiful Lindsay looked like a peasant. Lindsay smiled. Their furnishings had never been to her taste; Mel always demanded she chose everything. Now Linds had decided to leave, she was surprised how easy it was to go. Her life had never been what she wanted. When she first met Mel, she found her lover’s confidence appealing, but the same confidence had galloped, over the years, into Mel controlling everything, constantly demanding her own way. She couldn’t allow Mel to do that to her child too. Lindsay knew in her heart, it was time to go. She was startled to see a strange man walking towards her with the boxes. Brian was standing in the doorway, grinning. “This is Manuel, he’s helping you move.” Lindsay accepted the boxes gratefully. Trust Brian to organize everything. Brian looked around the living room. “Do you want anything from here?” “No,” Lindsay replied. “Thank god,” Brian muttered. “I’ll get Manuel started upstairs.” He directed the burly man to the studio and helped him carry the contents down to the truck. Brian looked around upstairs. There was ‘the cow’s’ office and Lindsay’s studio, their bedroom and a spare, with the most hideous bathroom he’d ever seen. Who sticks plastic starfish on their walls anyway? He thought. He hurried downstairs, grateful he’d never noticed before and hopeful that bad taste wasn’t contagious. Lindsay was packing her kitchenware into boxes. Her mother had given her a beautiful dinner service, but Mel had always thought it was too formal. It had remained in its wrapper ever since they moved in, four years before. Lindsay sighed. It was easy to pack. Most of the things she loved were still in their original packaging. She’d never used them, not even once. It was easy to collect her things; most were packed away in the cupboards. Mel wouldn’t even notice she was gone until she needed her dry cleaning. She looked up as Brian sauntered into the room. “I’m nearly finished, but there are some things in the garage, my bike and my skis.” She smiled at Brian. “Maybe we can go skiing again now?” “Not this year.” Brian pointed to her stomach. They used to do so many things together, but one by one over the years, ‘the cow’ had put a stop to everything. Lindsay directed Manuel to the garage and pointed out the things she wanted to take. As she walked through the house one last time, it barely looked any different. She was sad that she could go and it wouldn’t be noticed. Lindsay pulled the key off her ring and placed it on the table, then closed the door as she left. Suddenly, it was real. She didn’t have a home anymore. “Where are we going? I can’t afford very much, Brian.” Lindsay was scared. “You can borrow what you need from my son,” he laughed. “He has plenty.” Lindsay blinked back the tears. All the painful years Mel had tried to force Brian from her life and he was one here, saving her. “Thank you,” she sniffed. Brian pulled her into his arms and kissed her on the forehead. “Justin tells me, he has the perfect place.” Lindsay smiled. Justin again, he was her champion. Brian left Lindsay and Manuel in the truck and hurried upstairs. “Justin,” he called out as he opened the door. Justin walked down the stairs from the bedroom. “You’ve been busy today,” he smiled. “Where is she?” “Downstairs, waiting for you to tell us where this place is.” “I’ll show you.” They walked down one flight and Justin stopped. “This apartment is empty.” Brian froze. “Here?” Justin opened the door and walked inside. “There’s plenty of room and she’ll be close enough for you to see your son and still be able to leave when you’ve had enough. The building has great security, so Mel won’t be able to harass her. We can be close and still have our privacy and if there’s a problem we’ll be here fast.” Justin handed Brian the file with the details of the lease. Brian flipped through the pages. The rent wasn’t too bad. Since being with Justin, he was saving a fortune on clubbing and drugging. He didn’t need those things anymore. “Get her and see if she likes it,” he smiled. He walked around and took a closer look. A few minutes later, he heard Lindsay gasp. “Do you like it?” Justin asked. “I love it, but I can’t afford to live here,” she stammered. Brian swung around and glared at her, refusing to repeat himself. He’d told her she didn’t have to pay and he wasn’t going to say it again. Both Lindsay and Justin saw the look on Brian’s face and quickly went to get Manuel. By the time they came back upstairs; Brian had signed the lease and was going for a shower. He felt sticky from his moving man experience and was not enjoying the feeling at all. His parting words were… “While you have Manuel here, get him to move all that baby crap out of my loft.” While Justin and Manuel were bringing things up, Lindsay took a closer look. The main suite was perfect for her studio. It was on the far left of the space with a bathroom and plenty of storage. The two other bedrooms were at the opposite end, with a bathroom in between. She wanted to be close to the baby, so this was perfect. The robes were built in and in no time, she had unpacked the few things she’d brought with her. Mel chose all her clothes and she hated most of them. They wouldn’t fit soon anyway and after the baby, she had no intentions of wearing anything like them ever again. Justin took the empty suitcases down with him and stored them with all the sporting equipment in the basement storage area. Lindsay unpacked the kitchenware. It was mainly the living room and kitchen where she needed the most. She did have some savings and now she would be able to work more. Not looking after Mel’s needs, would free up her time considerably. By the time, the nursery was brought down, it was almost one o’clock. Brian sent Manuel on his way and wandered downstairs to see what was happening. His loft was clear and open again and he was happy. While Justin organized the studio, Lindsay was hard at work in the nursery. Brian smiled at his lover. “Hungry?” he asked. “Why don’t we eat?” He pressed a credit card into Justin’s hand. “You can get her anything she needs and I can go to work and earn the money to pay for it,” Brian laughed. Justin wound his arms around Brian’s waist and kissed him passionately. He pressed Brian back against the wall, making his breath catch. When they finally separated, Brian gasped for air. “Hold the thought, but if we don’t go soon, you won’t have a hope of getting anything delivered,” he panted. Justin smiled. He rubbed their cocks together before stepping back and casually saying “Okay.” Brian took a deep breath. While Justin collected Lindsay, so they could leave, Brian decided he’d better go straight to the office or he would be dragging Justin into the men’s room at the restaurant and no shopping would get done at all. ******** Brian called Justin to let him know he would be home at nine. He was behind from his rescue mission this morning and needed to catch up. When he finally arrived home, Lindsay and Justin were sitting on the sofa in the loft. As he walked in, Lindsay jumped to her feet and ran to hug him. “Do you want to see?” She bubbled, unable to hide her enthusiasm. “Lead on,” he laughed, knowing she was excited. When she opened the door, Brian smiled. It was contemporary and elegant and much more like the Lindsay he knew. It was a far cry from the theme of that house…early, second-hand shop, pseudo farmhouse, ughhh. “Do you have everything now?” “The bed will take a few days, but I can sleep on the sofa till it arrives,” she smiled. Brian pulled a new cell phone from his pocket and handed it to her. “Give the number to whomever you want and throw the old one away.” Lindsay hugged him again. He was always trying to take care of her. She knew she would have to face Mel eventually, but a few days of peace to get settled, sounded good. Mel would be furious when she came home, but Lindsay was too happy to care. If Mel could con Celine into picking up her dry cleaning, she wouldn’t miss her at all. Justin smiled at his lover and took Brian’s hand. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Linds.” Lindsay smiled, knowingly. Brian followed Justin upstairs and as Justin opened the door, he pushed Brian inside. Justin slid the door closed and leaned back against it. “Take it all off for me,” he ordered. Brian removed his clothes slowly, a piece at a time. When he finally stood naked, the look on Justin’s face made his cock jump to attention. By the time Justin crossed the floor to him, Brian’s cock was hard and leaking. Justin grabbed hold and led him to the shower. He soaped Brian, holding his gaze as his fingers slid over his lover’s hot, wet, naked flesh. As he stepped closer and their bodies touched, Brian’s breath caught again and when Justin captured his lips, he moaned softly. Justin reached for a condom and tore the packet open with his teeth. He rolled it down onto his lover’s cock and turned around, rubbing his body back against Brian’s. Brian reached for the lube and prepared Justin quickly. He was already close and wasn’t sure if he would make the distance. As he sunk into Justin, he held his breath. Resisting the urge to blow like a teenager, Brian thrust wildly, grazing Justin’s prostate until he was crying out to come as well. His orgasm started in his toes and he pumped Justin’s cock, taking his lover along for the ride. They slumped against the tiles, still joined together, panting for breath. ******** Melanie arrived home to find the house in darkness. She looked at her watch, it was almost ten. Lindsay must be asleep and avoiding her. Typical WASPY behavior, she clucked. She checked the couch and saw the blanket from last night still unfolded. Lindsay may think she was with Celine, but she didn’t know for sure. Anyway, she was entitled to an explanation. How dare Lindsay have that little faggot inseminate her? No way was she putting up with another fucking man who’d had his hand in her partner. They were both out of Lindsay’s life now. They were having a child together and she was entitled to protect her child from moral danger. The asshole and his faggot sidekick could just fuck off. They’d gone too far this time and she was putting her foot down. She walked up the stairs and looked in the bedroom. There was no sign of her partner. Where was she? Probably with the little faggot again, she thought. Melanie stormed downstairs to see what Lindsay had made her for dinner. When there was nothing in the refrigerator, she was furious. She looked around for her dry cleaning. Fuck, that selfish bitch was sitting on her fat ass all day and hadn’t picked her suits up either. She didn’t ask for much, but picking up her clothes was important. Melanie dialed Lindsay’s cell. “She better get her ass back here fast and have a good explanation,” Melanie muttered. No answer, that was strange, she thought. Suddenly she saw the house key on the table and picked it up. “What the fuck?” She ran upstairs and checked Lindsay’s closet. Most of her clothes were there… what was going on? She looked in the studio, but found it empty. As she ran through the house checking, she found very specific things missing. That ugly dinner set, some cutlery, only things they never used. What was going on? She must be coming back, Linds wouldn’t dare leave. Melanie sat down to wait, thinking of ways she’d make Lindsay sorry when she came home. ******** Lindsay slept the best she had in years. She made breakfast and pottered around the apartment for a while. Throwing out her old cell was a good idea; trust Brian to think of it. Mel must be furious by now and she’d lived with Melanie Markus long enough to know what to expect. Protecting herself and the baby was her first priority. She grabbed her address book and flipped through the pages until she found Nathan’s number and dialed. “Nate, its Linds.” “Lindsay,” Nathan replied, “What’s up?” “I’ve left Mel.” “Fuck,” he gasped. “How pissed is she?” “Don’t know yet, but I don’t care. That house is in both of our names and I want my share. Can you handle it for me?” “Are you sure this time, Linds?” “Very. I’m having a baby and he is my top priority.” “A baby? This becomes more complicated if there’s a child involved,” he sighed. “My son has nothing to do with Mel.” “If the child is something you did together, she can argue that he is,” Nathan warned. “She didn’t know about it. She was going to inseminate me, but was too busy and didn’t come home,” Lindsay growled. “So, who inseminated you?” “I did it the old fashioned way,” she laughed. “So you didn’t use a donor, there’s no paperwork?” “No.” “Knowing Mel, she’ll take credit for it and will claim it was all her idea. Can we get a statement from the guy?” “I guess,” Lindsay sighed. Brian wouldn’t like this. He was fiercely private and hated his life scrutinized in any way. “Do we need a statement? I mean, is it absolutely necessary?” “Mel will make this as hard as possible, you know what she’s like,” Nathan laughed. “Get him to call me and I’ll get started on the papers for the division of property.” “Nate, this is very sensitive, can I count on your discretion?” “What’s going on?” He said suspiciously, sensing he needed to know more than he did. “Won’t he give you a statement?” “Nate, it’s Brian,” Lindsay sighed. “Brian who?” “Our Brian.” “Brian Kinney?” Nathan gasped. “You’re shitting me. You got Brian to fuck you?” He laughed heartily. “Nate, please, this is hard enough,” she sighed. “Does Mel know?” he laughed again. “She thinks Brian’s partner inseminated me with Brian’s sperm.” “What partner?” When did that happen, How did that happen? “Nate!” “Okay, okay. I’ll handle this, but then I want details,” he laughed. “Tell me, what does Brian say about you having his baby?” “He’s happy, asshole,” she smiled. “Remember, you’re my lawyer and this is privileged. I’ll ask Brian to call you. This is my new cell number.” “Good. As soon as possible Linds, we can’t give her a chance to strike first.” Lindsay closed her cell. She sent Brian a message to call her. A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. “What’s up,” Brian smiled as he walked in. “I was just leaving for the office. Everything okay?” “I’m fine, but I called Nate this morning. I want it to be over, so I can move on. The house is in both our names and I want my half.” Brian helped himself to coffee. “Sensible move.” “Nate thinks Mel will try and say the baby is a result of a joint effort with her and make a claim to him.” “No fucking way,” Brian roared. “My sperm, my kid.” “That isn’t necessarily true,” Lindsay sighed. “Mel can argue it was her idea and your sperm was just a means to an end.” Brian frowned. “I’m sorry, Brian. You know what she’s like. She will make this as difficult as possible.” “Did you tell her I fucked you?” He raised one eyebrow. Lindsay shook her head. “What did you tell her?” “That Justin inseminated me with your sperm,” Lindsay said softly. Brian laughed. “I bet she was pleased.” “Not exactly pleased,” Lindsay sighed. “So, what do we do now because there is no way that cow is claiming my kid?” “Nate needs a statement from you.” Of course he did. Nate would love this. “What did you tell him?” “The truth.” Okay, it was done now, move on. “Does it help?” Lindsay nodded. She grabbed Brian’s hand and put it on her stomach. “This is your child, Brian,” she smiled. “I’m glad you couldn’t wait, because you couldn't, Mel won’t be able to do a thing.” Brian sighed. “I’ll call him.” He pulled Lindsay close. “It will be okay, Linds. I’ll make sure it is.” Brian held her for a few moments, wondering what he’d gotten himself into. He kissed her on the top of the head. “I better go to work,” he smiled. Lindsay nodded. She reached for her coffee and was startled when Brian yelled at her. “Will you stop drinking fucking coffee? It’s bad for the baby,” he growled. She poured the contents of her cup down the sink and smiled. “Happy now?” Thirty five more weeks of this would be torturous. “Yes, I’ll call you later.” ******** When Brian arrived in the office, he dialed Nate. “Brian, how are you?” Nate smiled. “Cut the crap,” Brian snapped. “I fucked her, I fucked her twice. It’s my kid and you had better make sure ‘the cow’ has nothing to do with us.” “I’ve missed our conversations, Brian,” Nate laughed. “Lindsay told me your partner inseminated her as well.” “Yeah, we did that too,” Brian said curtly. “So, you were both there?” “Yeah, why?” Where was this going? “I can't put words in your mouth, but it sounds to me like Linds is really having a baby for both of you?” “That’s one way of interpreting it,” Brian said cautiously. “We need to be very clear, Brian. Lindsay is the child’s mother, who will be his father?” “Me of course and Justin” “In name only or are you having the full experience?” “The lot. I won’t change diapers but I’m sure Justin will.” Nathan laughed. “A lot of men won’t do that. Now how does your partner feel about the baby?” Brian hesitated. “He’s worse than she is.” “Good, so it is your child in every sense of the word?” “Yes.” “Will you be continuing to fuck her?” “Is this necessary to the case?” Brian frowned. “No, just curious,” Nathan laughed. “Just send the fucking papers when they’re ready, asshole,” Brian growled. “By the way, I have a ton of pictures proving ‘the cow’ was fucking around on Linds. I’d rather her not see them, but if you need to use them, I have them.” “Good thinking,” Nathan smiled. “I’m glad you got her out of there, Brian. That bitch is the last person I would want anywhere near my child,” he sighed. “Me too Nate, I’m counting on you to give her a hiding without lube.” Nathan smiled. “It will be my pleasure.” Brian smiled too. All their friends disliked Melanie Markus, but Nate detested her more than most. She gave him an exceptionally hard time in school with her feminist bullshit. Nate was everything she hated… white, straight, a man in direct opposition to her wanting a law degree. Now, Nate was a partner in a very prestigious law firm. Brian laughed as he put down the phone. No matter what she came up with, Nate would be ready and then he’d crush her. He worked until the papers arrived and as he read them, Brian laughed quite a few times. Mel would shit bricks. ******** Mel hadn’t given Lindsay a thought all day. It was almost five o’clock when the papers were delivered to her. As she read them, her eyes were as big as saucers. Lindsay had to be kidding, this couldn’t be happening. She looked at the letterhead and Nathan’s signature at the bottom of the last page. Fuck, he hated her. She had to find a way to stop this. The papers were very clear. She couldn’t contact Lindsay or Brian or even Justin. There had to be a way. She grabbed the phone book. ******** Brian and Justin had just made love when the doorbell went insane. “What the fuck,” Brian mumbled as he grabbed his robe and stormed to the door. He slid it open and his mother pushed past him. “Mom,” he rolled his eyes. “What are you doing here at this hour?” “Brian, I’ve never interfered in your life, but what you’re doing is wrong,” Joan Kinney shook her fist at her son. “Mom, you need to be more specific.” Brian rolled his eyes again. “That poor woman is distraught. How can you take her child away from her?” Brian blinked in disbelief. “What woman?” “That nice lawyer, why are you destroying her home, stealing her partner that way and not to mention taking her child,” Joan sighed. “She told me about the boy you are corrupting, Brian. You should be ashamed.” Brian picked up the phone. If he had to put up with this shit, Lindsay could too. “Can you come up for a minute?” He asked politely. “I’ll get dressed,” Lindsay said, still asleep. “No need, this is a come as you are party,” Brian smiled. He put down the phone and called out to his lover. “Justin, come and meet my Mom.” Justin had heard the commotion and was already dressed. He came down the stairs slowly at the same time Lindsay came through the door. “Mrs. Kinney,” she gasped. Joan Kinney stared at her. “You used to date my son, Lesley, wasn’t it?” “Lindsay.” “That’s right. How are you dear?” “Fine,” Lindsay smiled nervously. She looked at Brian who was smiling. “Lindsay and I are having a baby, Mom.” “Two babies Brian, how irresponsible. What about the other woman?” “Just Lindsay and one child, Mom. The person who visited you is psychotic.” Joan looked confused. “She said you had stolen her partner and were trying to take her child too.” “As far as I now, if I do the fucking, it’s my kid,” he growled. “Brian,” his mother gasped. She looked at Lindsay. “I’m sorry dear. Brian can be a bit course sometimes.” Brian laughed. That was him, course. “Lindsay used to live with her, Mom and now that nutcase is trying to use you to get out of paying Lindsay her share, not to mention steal your grandchild. That’s not very Christian, is it?” Brian smiled. “But what about this boy?” She pointed to Justin. “What about him?” He’d done well up until now. It was all about to fall apart. Lindsay jumped to the rescue. “Mrs. Kinney, Justin is our friend, our best friend.” She rambled on until Joan was smiling and calm. Brian looked at his mother. She was a hypocrite and he was being one too. He interrupted Lindsay. “He’s also my lover,” he said flatly. Joan smiled at her son. “What dear?” “He’s also my lover,” Brian repeated. “Mom, this is Justin. He’s my lover.” “So, she wasn’t completely lying,” Joan spat. “Mom, you know what filthy creatures men are, what can I say?” He shrugged. “He’s only a child,” she gasped. “No Mom, that’s where you’re wrong,” Brian laughed. “He’s a man alright,” he smiled at his lover. “Now let me clarify this for you to avoid confusion. Lindsay is trying to get away from a psychotic bitch. They own a house together and Linds wants her share. Lindsay is also pregnant with my child and I have a male lover who I intend to keep.” Joan Kinney sat down. Her heart was pounding. “I’ll take my judgment from God, but not from you,” Brian continued coldly. “One more word about this and the next time you need something, make no mistake, don’t waste the money calling,” he growled. “So, I suggest, you congratulate Lindsay on having your grandchild, say goodnight to Justin and go home,” he roared. “And when that bitch contacts you again… tell her to fuck off.” Joan Kinney took a deep breath and stood up. She had never seen her son so angry before. She smiled at Justin and shook his hand, kissed Lindsay and left. Justin and Lindsay looked at each other in amazement as Brian disappeared into the bedroom. Justin hugged her. He could see she was upset. “Brian will come down later, go back to bed.” Lindsay nodded and Justin went after Brian. Now Mel had done it. She saw a folder on Brian’s desk as she was leaving. It was about Melanie. She opened it and gasped. There were so many photographs, she couldn’t believe it. Brian had never shown her this. She took the file with her and went back downstairs. Justin climbed into bed beside Brian, who was lying on his back, smoking. “So,” Brian said. “That was Mom.” Justin took the cigarette out of his hand and stubbed it out. He pulled Brian towards him and held him, tightly. He knew Brian was upset, but he wasn’t sure which was worse, the hurt or the fury. If he ever doubted how important the money was to his mother, he never would again. She had just turned her back on everything she believed in, purely to keep access to his money. She wasn’t the type of person he wanted anywhere near his child. His mother and Mel deserved each other. They were two of a kind. It was almost an hour before Brian spoke. “I’m sorry if I embarrassed you.” “Being your lover could never be an embarrassment,” Justin smiled. “If that’s the way she intends to play it, you’d better warn your Mom,” Brian said softly. “She will probably get maximum damage if she goes after your father.” “Why didn’t you let your Mom think I was just a friend, I wouldn’t have minded you know,” Justin replied. “I know, but I won’t deny how I feel about you,” Brian sighed. “I won’t lie just because it’s easier. I love you.” Justin held Brian tightly. “I love you too. I’ll call my Mom tomorrow and don’t worry; I won’t hide from my Dad either. Is it okay if I introduce Mom to Lindsay?” “She’ll meet her eventually,” Brian laughed. “You know Lindsay said she’d have a child for you next. I’m guessing Jennifer will want to know her grandchild. As you saw, my mother won’t be much of a grandmother, so, do you think Jen would mind being the official grandma to our kids?” Justin smiled. “She’d love it.” Brian smiled too and nestled closer. He knew Jennifer would indeed love it. Meeting Justin was the luckiest day of his life. He closed his eyes, praying sleep would take him and the pain of his failed past, would stop. Lindsay sat looking at the file. There had been so many and Brian had known all along. Mel had gone too far this time. There wasn’t a doubt in her mind Brian was hurting and it was her fault. She remembered hundreds of times over the years where Brian’s family had let him down. She knew he was hurt by every one of them. He talked a good game, but she could see the pain in his eyes. She tried to sleep, but couldn’t and when the clock finally ticked over to six, she rang Nate. “Mmmm.” “Nate it’s me, Lindsay.” Nate blinked at the clock, trying to focus. “What’s wrong?” “We had a visit from Mrs. Kinney last night.” “Is Brian okay?” He’d met Brian’s mother once and that was enough. “I don’t think so. Nate, Mel went to her and told her Brian was trying to steal her child. She also told her about Justin and practically called Brian a child molester,” she paused. “I found a file at Brian’s. He has ample proof she was cheating on me.” Nate didn’t answer. Brian specifically didn’t want Linds to know. She was puzzled by his silence. “Nate, did you know?” “Yeah, I knew,” he sighed. “No one wanted you to be hurt, Linds.” “I’m past hurt, Nate. I want this to be over. Set up a meeting.” “You shouldn’t talk to her by yourself,” Nathan warned. “You can be there, but I want it over. Can you do it today?” Nathan could tell this meeting wouldn’t be a pleasant one. “I’ll set it up.” “Warn her Nate, if she pulls another stunt like she did last night, she’ll be sorry. Make sure you tell her, I will make her sorry.” There was coldness in Lindsay’s voice he had never heard before. “I’ll let you know what time.” “Thanks Nate.” ******** Brian rang in sick. He didn’t feel like working. When he went downstairs to check on Lindsay, he was happy to see her drinking juice instead of coffee. He made himself a pot of coffee and sat down to talk. “Did you sleep?” “Not much,” she admitted. “I’m so sorry, Brian.” “It’s over. My Mom won’t help her.” “I have a meeting with her at one.” “With who?” Brian frowned. Surely one visit with his mother was enough for another ten years. “Mel. I found the file on your desk.” “If I’d wanted you to see that, I would have shown it to you,” Brian sighed. “She may go to Justin’s father next. We need to be prepared. Justin rang his mother this morning and she’ll run interference for us.” “If she hasn’t already, she won’t do it now.” “Why?” “Because if she does, she’ll be the sorriest ex-lawyer in Pittsburgh,” Lindsay frowned. "Let's just say that you can't live with someone for years and not know what they are up to," she shrugged. Brian could see the fury behind Lindsay’s eyes. He hadn’t seen fire in her like that for years. “Just be careful,” he warned. “Will Nate be with you?” Lindsay nodded. “I’ll be fine. I want this over and her out of our lives forever. I have a little insurance policy that will guarantee it,” she laughed. Brian laughed too. His child had no hope, both his parents were blackmailers. “Justin’s mother wants to meet you.” “Sure,” Lindsay smiled. “She is our official designated grandma,” Brian laughed. “Justin is just like her.” “Then she’ll be great. A lot better than our parents,” Lindsay sighed. “Can we really be good parents, Linds when our genes are tainted with the bad parenting bug?” “We just have to try harder than other people, but we’ll get there, Justin will keep us on track,” she smiled. “Yeah, he will.” “I was proud of the way you acknowledged him to Joan,” Lindsay smiled. Brian smiled. “I was too.” ******** At one o’clock, Melanie arrived for their meeting. She was very smug, making Lindsay fume all over again. When she sat down, her eyes were dancing. “You asked for this meeting,” she said. “Lindsay wishes to speak with you,” Nate said abruptly. Mel looked smugly at her partner. “I want my share and I want you to leave us alone,” Lindsay said, coldly. “Well, you can’t always have what you want. I’m prepared to take you back, acknowledge the child you’re carrying, but only on the proviso you have no further contact with Brian Kinney or his little friend and he also signs his parental rights over to me.” She sat back smiling. “What makes you think I would be interested in that?” Lindsay gasped. “What choice do you have? Eventually Mr. Kinney will get sick of how much trouble you are to have around.” She shrugged. “Being involved with you is trouble, trouble for him, trouble for his so called partner and trouble for his business,” she grinned. Nate frowned. “You wouldn’t by chance be threatening my client, Mel.” “No threats. People have a right to know who they are dealing with.” She shrugged again. “Face it, Linds. Its checkmate,” she grinned. “That’s my child you’re carrying. If you want to go, go, but the child stays with me.” “Not likely,” Lindsay growled. She threw the file of photographs at Melanie. “I’m sure Gareth will be interested in these.” Melanie stammered. “Where did you get them?” “It’s a private collection of your personal life, painstaking put together over years,” Lindsay smiled. Melanie was rattled, but she gathered herself together quickly. “Use them if you want. Living with someone so cold was hell.” Lindsay threw another folder at her. Nate watched Melanie’s eyes almost pop out of her head. “Will I use this too?” Lindsay smiled. As Melanie snatched the file to make a run with it, she added. “That isn’t the only copy but please, feel free to keep that one.” She lent across the table. “I want my share and the file stays closed. Make me open it and I’ll have you disbarred for the first one and serving time for each one after that. You ever go near anyone I care about again and the pages go to the Law Society, one at a time. Melanie glared at Nate. “Is this the sort of practice you run… supporting blackmail?” Nate shook his head. “No, I’d send them off right now. Here is a copy of the valuation.” He tossed it across the table. “My client’s share is half the value. Is the property going on the market or are you in the position to pay her out?” “I’ll pay her out, but this is extortion,” she growled. “And what you pulled with Brian’s mother is called malicious mischief. You should know better Counselor,” Nate smiled. “That in itself, will get you disbarred.” “That is my child she’s carrying. We planned to have that child together. You have no right to stop me from being in its life,” she growled. “You changed our agreement when you weren’t there to inseminate me.” “It doesn’t matter, you were still inseminated by proxy,” Mel said smugly. “That’s true, but I changed the agreement when I let Brian fuck me. I conceived our child the old fashioned way.” Lindsay sat back in her chair. Melanie jumped to her feet. “You’re lying. He couldn’t.” Nate threw a copy of Brian’s statement at her. “It appears he did, twice and Justin inseminated her once. Officially I would say the baby is their child in the eyes of the law,” Nathan smiled. Mel read the document attesting to the details of the encounter and Brian’s willingness to be a parent in every sense, including shared custody. “I don’t believe this,” she gasped. “This is a lie too. You can’t do this to me.” Lindsay laughed. “Get over it and face facts. No one wants to have anything to do with you. One phone call and Gareth will kick your ass out onto the street. Be warned, Mel. You had better hope we all live happy and long lives, because the minute anything goes wrong, I’ll blame you and you will be exposed. Don’t plot, don’t plan and don’t even think about me. I never want to have anything to do with you ever again. I have placed copies of that file with a few lawyers for safe keeping with very clear instructions.” Melanie sat down. Lindsay knew everything. There was nothing she could do. “We will expect your check in twenty four hours at which time, my client will relinquish her share of the property to you,” Nathan smiled. He walked behind her and gathered up the files. “Thank you for coming in today. Good day.” He buzzed his secretary and she opened the door. “Could you show Ms Markus out, Janelle?” Melanie rose slowly and left in silence. When the door was closed again, Nathan looked at his client. “May I?” “As long as it’s privileged,” she said cautiously. Nathan read the file cover to cover. He looked up at Lindsay in disbelief. “Fucking hell,” he gasped. “Put it away in a safe place, Nate. If she ever comes near my child, we’ll use it.” “You should give this to the authorities,” Nathan said, seriously. “Then, she’ll be a monster with nothing to lose, this way,” Lindsay paused. “She has everything to lose. Thanks Nate for you help. Send me the bill,” she smiled. “No bill, this was my pleasure,” he laughed. “Now, do I get my details,” he grinned. “Why are you so intrigued? Brian and I were an item in college,” she smiled coyly. “That was then, but Brian’s been the biggest stud in gay PA for years. So he did you a favor,” he paused. “That in itself is remarkable for a gay man. Once, I can understand. You wanted a baby, but twice? It poses the question, is Brian really gay after all?” Nate was fascinated. Brian had probably fucked every gay man on the planet and some straight ones too. “I always wondered when he went through so many guys all the time. I always got the feeling he was trying to prove something.” “He was waiting for Justin,” Lindsay paused. “How do I put this?” She shrugged. “Brian’s every bit as hot now as he was then, actually he’s better,” she smiled. “He’ll make a terrific father and Nate, he is gay, there’s no doubt when you see him with Justin. He’s been looking for Justin all along.” “Has he really settled down?” Lindsay nodded. “Justin is one hell of a guy. I haven’t known him long, but I love him already. Actually they want to have another child and I’d like another one too. Justin will be the father next time,” she smiled. “He’s wonderful.” “Must be, to tame Brian Kinney after all these years,” Nate smiled. “Listen, you remember Greg Saunders. I introduced him to you at the GLC once. I heard his lover, Ben, is seeing one of Brian’s friends, the short one; the boy next door type.” “I’ve heard that too. I met Ben a few months ago, he’s nice, but he’s positive.” “He was a professor, if I remember, not a bad one either.” Nate shook his head. “Greg was an ass. I hope it works out for Ben this time. He was a nice guy.” “I have to call Brian. Let me know when you have the check and thanks Nate for everything. Why don’t you come over for dinner and see my new apartment? Bring your current bimbo,” Lindsay smiled. “No bimbo at the moment,” he laughed. “I’m taking a break from women.” “Have you taken up men?” She laughed. “No, I just have a lot of work at the moment,” he frowned. “It’s settled then,” she smiled. “You come to dinner Friday night and you can meet Justin.” “You’re on. I want to see this for myself,” Nathan grinned. ******** Lindsay called Debbie and gave her the new number for her cell. Debbie told her it had been a rough couple of months, but Michael was so happy with Ben, she couldn’t spoil it for him. He was finally over Brian and she was grateful. Lindsay gave her the short version about her and Mel, and Debbie was relieved Mel was finally out of her life for good. When Lindsay told her about Justin and Brian, she could hear how happy Debbie was from her voice. “There’s one more thing,” she added nervously. “I’m pregnant.” “Fuck,” Debbie gasped. “I mean, I’m happy for you, baby, but pregnant, fuck. Is there a father?” “Brian.” “Brian Kinney?” she gasped. “The one and only,” Lindsay laughed. “Justin is worse than Brian and I put together.” “He’s a good kid,” Debbie smiled. She liked Justin and if Brian was really settled and happy to be expecting a child, Justin was a miracle worker. “I won’t tell Michael. Brian should be the one to tell him.” “Now all this drama is over. I’m sure Brian will contact him. We’ve had a small circus of our own. I’ll see you on Sunday for lunch.” When Lindsay arrived home, she told Brian the fiasco with Mel was over. “I’m glad, Linds. Now we can get on with our lives,” he smiled. “Talking about that, I invited Nate to dinner on Friday to meet Justin,” she smiled. “Why’d you do that?” Brian frowned. “Because you can’t just hide him away,” she laughed. “He wants to be an artist. We know plenty of people to help him and he should know them too. Besides you told your mother, everyone else will be easy compared to her.” “I guess,” Brian sighed. “It’s just that I’ve never been with anyone like this before. I don’t know what to do in public,” he admitted. “The day I took Justin to Deb’s, I was uncomfortable.” “You held him in public there. Just be yourself. You’re a very affectionate person, Brian. Relax, nobody’s judging you.” “They all judge me,” Brian scowled. “Then it’s about time you stopped hiding who you are and be the person Justin and I know you can be.” She stepped forward and kissed him softly. “Besides, you can’t hide our child away and eventually you will need to acknowledge your son. Isn’t it better to get it over with?” “Sure,” he said, tentatively. “Listen, have you talked to Michael lately?” “No why?” Brian shrugged. “He was sulking the last time I saw him.” “He’s with Ben now.” “Is he fucking crazy?” Brian roared. “Does anyone have the right to tell someone who they can love? What if I said Justin was too young for you?” “I’d tell you to fuck off.” “I’m sure Michael will say the same, so, a better alternative would be… to be happy for him.” “But he’s positive Linds,” Brian objected. “But Justin’s too young, Brian,” she laughed. “Okay.” Brian scowled. “I get it.” “Debbie says Michael really loves him.” “He’s a good guy.” “Nate said the same thing. I always thought Greg was an ass.” “So did I,” Brian admitted. “I’ll try and see Mikey tomorrow.” “Sounds like a plan,” she smiled. “Now are you okay with dinner on Friday with Nate?” “Now you’re a free woman, are you going to fuck him?” “Nate, don’t be silly,” Lindsay frowned. “He always had a crush on you, you know.” “When?” “Right through college,” Brian smiled. “Is he seeing anyone?” “No, he’s taking a break.” “Mmmm,” Brian smiled. ******** After Lindsay left, Justin was still at his mother’s place. Brian was bored and decided to see Michael. When he walked into the store, Michael was surprised to see him. “Are we talking yet?” He said casually “Seems so,” Michael smiled. “I haven’t seen you.” Brian told him about Lindsay and the shit with Mel. “We think it’s over.” “Fuck, sounds like a nightmare.” “There’s more. Lindsay’s pregnant and I’m the father and before you ask, yes I fucked her and I’m not apologizing for it.” Michael laughed. “So, are you two together now?” Brian took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “I’m with Justin.” Michael nodded. He knew eventually Brian would admit it. “Is it serious?” Brian nodded. “I heard you were with Ben now.” Michael’s jaw tightened, waiting for the barrage of recriminations. “Yes, we are.” Brian pulled Michael close. “I’m happy for you Mikey. Ben’s a lucky man.” Michael was so stunned at his friend’s response, he was speechless. Brian held him tightly until he felt Michael relax. “I want you to be as happy as I am.” Michael was close to tears. Pulling away when he heard the bell, he looked up and saw Ben coming through the door. He wiped the tears away and kissed his lover softly. “Ben, Brian was just telling me he’s gonna be a father.” Ben smiled. “That’s wonderful news, Brian.” He extended his hand. “Congratulations.” Brian grinned. “Yeah, soon we’ll have the patter of tiny feet. Justin is more excited than Lindsay and I put together. He’s practically nesting,” he laughed and looked at his friend, “Mikey, do you remember Nate?” “Lawyer right? Didn’t you and Lindsay go to college with him?” “Yeah, Lindsay’s having a dinner party on Friday. Can you guys come?” Michael looked at Ben who nodded. “Sure.” “Nate wants to see give Justin the once over and he could use some familiar faces,” Brian smiled. “Besides, you can check out Lindsay’s new place. It’s on the floor under mine. I’ll see you on Friday, Professor.” He pulled Mikey in and kissed him. “I missed you.” Michael smiled. “I missed you too, asshole.” “No more asshole,” Brian laughed. “I’m too happy these days. See you Friday about eight?” Michael nodded. When Brian left, Michael looked at his lover. “I don’t believe it.” “That he missed you?” “No, he fucked Lindsay and knocked her up,” Michael laughed. “There’s that and the fact that he invited us to a dinner party. He has changed.” “Meeting the right person can do that,” Ben smiled. Michael moved into Ben’s arms. “Before you ask, I’ll always love him, but I’m in love with you.” “I know that. I’m in love with you too,” Ben smiled. ********* When he arrived home, Justin and Lindsay were painting. “I invited Michael and Ben to your dinner party. I told them eight.” Lindsay laughed. “Why don’t you have your own dinner party?” “Small steps. Linds,” he smiled. Brian kissed Justin. “How’s you’re Mom?” “Coming for dinner tonight,” Justin smiled. Brian’s face screwed up. “What?” “I wanted to spend some time with you.” “You can, she’s having dinner with Linds.” Brian laughed. “Dinner? The questions will never stop.” “Questions?” Lindsay said, surprised. Brian smiled. “She’ll have questions, believe me, I know.” Lindsay glanced at Justin who was nodding. “She likes to understand exactly what is going on,” he laughed. “You’ll be okay. I told her, I love you.” Justin kissed Lindsay on the cheek. “That should open the flood gates,” Brian laughed. “Don’t tease her, Brian, you’re scaring her,” Justin scolded. “It will be fine, Linds. You both have tons in common.” He smiled, wickedly. “Brian looks horny and I need to take care of that, so I’ll see you tomorrow.” Brian grinned. “You read my mind, Sunshine.” “It isn’t your mind I’m thinking of,” Justin smirked. “Get out of here you two, I don’t want the baby thinking about this,” she laughed. “The baby already knows,” Justin grinned. “He’s already seen what I have in mind, first hand.” Brian shot him a warning look, grabbed Justin’s hand, and dragged him upstairs, eager for his encore. Justin made love to him in a frenzy and afterwards, as they lay in each other’s arms, Brian couldn’t remember a time in his life where he was ever so happy. Justin had changed him, saved him from his miserable and lonely existence and given him the courage to ask for what he wanted. He’d changed Lindsay’s life too. They were expecting their first child in thirty two weeks and Lindsay was free and finally away from the cow. Brian didn’t realize that the changes in Michael’s life too were courtesy of Justin as well. Michael, for the first time in his life, was with someone who really loved him and he was free to love that person back, without fear of reprisal. College would start soon and Justin would add another chapter to their lives. The idea of discovering everything again for the first time with Justin, was exciting. Brian had seen it all before, but was never free to really experience it before Justin came into his life. College had just been a sea of gratification for him. The relationship he'd built with his friends in that time was solid, but he was always afraid to let other people in, which had limited him. With his lover by his side, Brian felt safe to take giant steps to make his life, mimic his dreams and become reality. He nestled closer to Justin and smiled, noting that these days, he always felt warm inside. Complete
