…………………………………………………………………………… Chapter Twenty: A SUDDEN SENSE OF LIBERTY. It was quiet but they liked it like that. They didn’t need to talk. They’dve been driving for almost an hour and a half now. Brian felt even sleepier but he’d rather drive. Justin sunk back in his seat and lay back with his head turned toward the window and ; he looked up to the moon and watched the streetlights of every little town that they’ve were been driving through. “Bri, I lied when I talked about my childhood.” Justin hadn’t meant to break the silence. “My father never dropped me off in Kingsbridge. One morning I woke up and had no idea where I was. It was pouring rain so a guy took me in his house and we became friends.” Justin could feel Brian’s gaze and liked that Brian remained silent. “I had a feeling I would meet you.” “Just thought you’d like to know that.” Justin finished and looked back out the window. “How come you can’t remember anything?” Brian asked in a low tone. “I don’t know, my memories are all blurry. It’s like I wasn’t born, I was just there one night and now I’m all confused and shit. But I know I have a past cause sometimes I dream about it and somehow it makes sense. But it’s like a story that’s been picked out from a fairytale book.” “I understand.” Brian assured Justin. Justin smiled and wanted to change the subject. After letting a long silence pass. “Did you ever drive with all the windows opened?” Justin asked looking out the window once more. “What?” Brian laughed. “It feels dangerous, like when you put your head under water for too long. But still you can’t seem to stop because you want it to last. Like a roller coaster-ride. You don’t ever want it to stop.” Brian looked at Justin as he opened his window and rolled down his window too. They let the air come inside the car as they speed up along on the highway. A not-too-cool not-too-humid breeze threwows itself in all directions and makes made the car slightly shake. It comes comes through their longish hair and hard against their skin. Slowly lettingJustin slowly let his head back and opening opened his mouth. “But then it does and everything stops…” He whispered to himself. ……………………………………………………………………………
